(HS2) Kneep Campsite

Die ruhige Lage an einem der schönsten Strände, die wir auf den Äusseren Hebriden besucht haben, ist wunderbar! Die Infrastruktur des Campingplatzes ist etwas knapp bemessen und könnte mal renoviert werden, war für uns aber dennoch ok.

The site is directly behind an amazing white sand beach. Unfortunately some of the electric pitches are far too close together for fire safety and you feel crammed in. For £30 a night with electric, the showers are the worst we have ever seen and you have to pay extra for them. There are no doors on the shower cubicles, just a curtain and there are no hooks inside the cubicles to hang anything.

Great beach location. Beach front spaces look ok, those behind are crammed in (less than 2m apart). Showers are dreadful, toilets are dirty and dated. Definitely not worth the money - far better options nearby.

Der Campingplatz besticht durchs eine Ruhe und der grandiosen Lage am Strand. Ansonsten hat er alles, was man braucht. Landestypisch gibt's Duschen mit Duschvorhängen. Nicht unseres, wir sind aber komplett autark, deshalb störte es uns nicht. Wir würden wieder kommen.

Positive Rough and ready site. Suits the area and gives a true sense of the Hebridean landscape. Site is right in the beach edge. Facilities are basic but functional. Pre-book in peak season. Cash payment on the arrival of the site managers. 4/5 for scenery and access to landscape.

Die Lage des Platzes ist schön, man hat einen super Blick auf den Strand und Fin (der Betreiber) ist sehr nett. Aber das war’s auch. Die Sanitäranlagen sind alt und nicht sauber (teilweise Mäusekot hinter den Toiletten), Duschen kostet 1 Pfund für 3 Minuten und man kann kein Grauwasser entsorgen. Das sind leider nicht die verlangten 25 Pfund (ohne Strom, der kostet 5 Pfund extra) wert.

mooie plek, slechte indeling waardoor je te dicht op elkaar gezet wordt en elkaar insluit. toiletgebouw erg oud, geen waterdruk in de douche en geen omkleed ruimte. wel schoon

Mooie plek, maar wij hadden veel wind en regen helaas. Douchen echt niet prettig en toiletten niet erg schoon. Grey waste niet aanwezig. Moesten we maar gewoon laten lopen. Moet dus niet bij faciliteiten staan!

Campeggio in posizione straordinaria. Purtroppo ce ne siamo andati perché alla reception non c’era nessuno. Le indicazioni dicono di cercare un posto da soli, ma le piazzole sono segnate malissimo e non ci era chiaro dove potevamo metterci; basterebbe poco per rendere la cosa più semplice. Manca scarico acque grigie.

Vues superbes ! Certains emplacements pas vraiment à niveau mais cela fait parti du charme du lieu.

What a warm welcome from Fin. We parked on the cliff overlooking the amazing beach. Sadly it was misty the whole time we were there but it was still beautiful. The showers are basic - 3 minutes for £1 - but it's what we expected on this remote site and the water was hot and perfectly adequate. There were clean toilets and a washing up area plus the facilities to empty the toilet and fill water

great site with all the facilities you need right on the beach edge for £20! worth every penny, we had such a good spot we stayed an extra night. beautiful beach. community run site, so don't expect someone to be there all of the time. there's clear signs explaining what pitches are booked and how to find an empty one if no staff present. highly recommend.

Amazing beach and location, we did have 2 days of superb weather and 2 grey/wet days, but in any weather this is a beautiful spot and worth the drive. £20 a night with no EHU. The toilets, showers £1 for 3mins, and washing up areas were always clean. Run by the local community, it’s a privilege to stay in such a lovely wild location on a wild and uncommercial site.

beautiful beach and views, BUT camp was not run too well. showers were old and a dribble at best. they were also coin operated and timed, £20 for motorhome was not worth it. Owner was rarely contactable and did not have good communication. no grey waste emptying area and not well sign posted facilities.

Gorgeous beach but not impressed with the campsite. Wonky pitches and the shower was at best a dribble (£1 for 3 mins). Would have been fine for £10 a night but £20 without EH felt like a rip off.

our favourite beach. was charged 25 p/n for a non EHU motorhome pitch & a further 5 p/n for awning. didn't find the guy particularly friendly or helpful & the toilet facilities not fit for our family with babies. a struggle trying to get showered & changed with babies. Fab view & access to the beach. felt 30 a night was a bit over priced for non EHU & additional shower cost.

we had a lovely stay, fin was lovely and very helpful. the beach was out of this world felt like we were aboard somewhere. toliets and showers very clean, filled up on water. £20 for the night.

First the good, the beach and views were excellent. Next the bad. Vans and motorhomes were packed in like sardines in any available space. Pitches were sloped and uneven, some of the hook up points had three point extensions fitted to allow even more vans to be squeezed in. No real privacy as doors didnt lock,no hot water,showers were coin operated and water went cold. Do not recommend this site

Bel emplacement face à la mer réservé le jour même. Le spot est vraiment sympa. Les sanitaires ne sont pas de toute jeunesse mais c’est propre. Prévoir des pièces d’1£ pour la douche. 1£=3 min. Douche mixte à l’arrière si vous n’avez qu’une pièce pour deux. Food truck le midi en semaine très appréciable.

Beautiful campsite, good clean facilities and wonderfully friendly staff. Community shop apx 3 miles away, easy enough cycle there and back with only one big hill. Electric hook up £25 per night, spots without hook up available too. Showers £3 for 3 mins

Petit paradis sur terre, avec le soleil on se croirait aux Caraïbes (et avec la pluie en Écosse)

Unglaublich schön gelegen. Der Strand und die Natur sind wunderschön und ein echtes Highlight. Stellplatz kostet 25£/Nacht mit Strom. Wer im Vorfeld Bucht findet sich auf der Arrivals Liste und sucht den Pitch selbstständig. Duschen kostet 1£/3 Minuten. Kaum Wasserdruck. Münzen mitbringen. Das ist sehr nervig und klares Minus! Generell nur 2 Klos, 1 Dusche pro Geschlecht für den riesen Platz.

It's lovely, but a bit expensive for what you get... £20 park up (£25 with hookup). But then it's £1 for a 3 minute shower. Views are stunning, beach is lovely. It's very quiet. Good 4g. And Fin, the guy that seems to run it, is super nice.

Best view on the island, direct sea view. No electricity there though, but no issue for us. Lovely owner! Clean faculties as well - I saw them being cleaned twice, both in the evening and morning we were there. Free water and chemical toilet facilities.

Camping isolé de l’ouest de Lewis situé devant une baie fabuleuse 8 emplacements avec électricité, vaste zone pour tentes et camping-car sans électricité. Sanitaires en nombre restreint ( 2WC et 2 douches H et F), non chauffés. Douche 1£ pour 3 min. Un food truck pour fish and chips près de l’entrée, il faut réserver son repas Vidange WC chimique mais pas de vidange des eaux grises

Landschaftlicher Höhepunkt dieser Platz. 1,5 km langer, breiter und weißer Sandstrand. Strom nur auf wenigen Standplätzen, für Wohnmobile sind die Plätze mit Meerblick etwas eng. Für £ 15,- ein Wohnmobil mit 2Personen ist das ok. Dusche £ 1,- aber auf jeden Fall 5 Minuten. Waschmaschine ja, leider kein Trockner.

Einer der schönsten Plätze in Schottland.Ein Traum für Hundebesitzer,entweder direkt am Strand oder in unmittelbarer Umgebung um den Campingplatz herum für die Fellnasen genug zu erkunden.Die sanitären Einrichtungen für uns ausreichend.Kommen ganz bestimmt wieder.Ein Dank an den tollen Platzwart Finn.

Les prix ont augmentés (15 £ pour un van, 20 £ pour un camping-car). Installations sanitaires vieillissantes.

Amazing location & views. The beach is probably one of the best on the whole island, pure white sand! £10 per night, EHU Available, £1 for shower. Nice food van round the corner which we had an amazing full Scottish breakfast. 100% would stay here again.

Big place at a lovely beach. I really enjoyed it! Pais 15 Pounds without EHU. Facilities were ok, but the water in the showers didn´t get warm....

Only a few pitches with EHU, there are all near the toilets/shower block. Pitches without EHU seem nicer. 5 minutes walking to a sand beach, kids loved it.

Très bel emplacement, mais le prix est passé à 25£, pour un service un peu léger : pas de système de récupération des eaux grises des motorhomes, la consigne est de les laisser s’écouler sur l’emplacement ! Très peu de plots d’électricité, les motorhomes se trouvent donc « tassés » dans un coin du camping. Pas de possibilité de vider les eaux noires.

The most amazing location! White sandy beaches and beautiful views. Basic facilities but all good and Fin is very friendly and welcoming. Most beautiful place I’ve stayed. EHU pitches. Walks on doorstep.

We planned to stay for three nights with hook up but were dismayed by the number (20+) of seasonal caravans just parked up and unoccupied. The site owner/manager agreed we could pay to hook up and use the facilities but park somewhere quieter. Beautiful location but spoiled somewhat by the number of caravans.

Such a fantastic view to stay, great spot, facilities are great, HOT showers (which is what you need at this time of year) . just £10 for the night. Wouldn't hesitate to come back here

Absolutely stunning beachfront location on a beach that is like paradise. The owner was great and accommodating and saved us the best view for a 4 night stay upon request with a cone. The facilities are basic but enough. Beachfront views are without electric, but owner offered to allow us to charge up whenever needed, as the electric wires are without view. The sand is golden and the sea turquoise and calm.

Stayed for 3 nights last week, we were initially booked for 2 but liked the location so much, managed to stay an extra night. Showers £1 for 6 mins and tumble dryer £1 for 15 mins. The beach is lovely, my favourite beach and the water so clear. Finn was super helpful with all our random questions. Go, you won’t regret staying here.

The location is great and right by a white sandy beach. However, the site looks like it has been closed for a while. There's a small carpark for 2/3. campervans next to it but no facilities.

Well placed for scenic viewing - wide beach view with great parking beach-side for those of us with mini-campers. Looks like owner is updating the site too - thats great. Hookups available but none at the beach-view location (yet)

Tout simplement magnifique, emplacement face à la mer, la vue est superbe. Les toilettes sont propres, la douche est payante 1£, mais bien chaude. On peut vider les WC chimique derrière le bâtiment des toilettes. Nous n’avons également pas vue de grilles pour vider les eaux grises.

Traumhafte Aussicht. Der Strand ist wunderschön. Die Duschen und Toiletten sind etwas in die Jahre gekommen, aber der neue Sanitärblock ist bald fertig. 15 Pfund für ein Wohnmobil. Viele Dauercaravane.

Einfacher Campingplatz an einem wunderschönen Traum-Strand. Wir haben da auch Robben gesehen. Keine Einkaufsmöglichkeiten aber in 4 Meilen Entfernung gibt es eine gute Möglichkeit.

Très bon accueil avec documentation fournie. Il y a 8 places avec électricité.Tracés à la peinture et qui sont bien à l'abri du vent (dans les dunes) et à proximité des toilettes.Prix d'un camping car 15 £ et 4 £ en plus si électricité.Le bâtiment toilettes s'agrandit et est en construction. Vidanges cassettes possible derrière le bâtiment toilettes.Pas vu de grilles pour les eaux grises.

Kneep Camp Site ist fantastisch und liegt an einem wunderschönen Strand. Sehr freundliches Personal.

This is actually called Traigh Na Beirigh ( Cnip Grazing ) Cnip  Maibhaig Uig Isle Of Lewis Or Reef Beach campsite. The cost is £10 per night, which goes to the local community which runs it. It is an exceptionally beautiful place, and if you have been staying on free spots, a good place to fill with water, dispose chemical waste and enjoy a shower. (£1 extra) Don't hesitate.
