It’s a car park and possibly the car park with the most complicated pricing structures. We have a blue badge and I defy anyone to calculate how big a bang you get for your buck with a blue badge!!! Having said that it is, so far at least, a decent and level place to park up overnight but my brain hurts trying to decide if we have over or under paid!!!
Great location and price. But prices have a odd format. Best to check before you arrive. Road was noisy throughout night, although next to station, you couldn't hear them after 10pm. there's a loose drain on exit, every car knocked on the way out, again steady all night. People hanging around in car park until 0000, but didn't bother the 3 campervans parked up.
Odd one. Paid £10.20 for 24hrs on the app. No problems except for road noise. Later, read reviews for The Lawn car park saying overnight sleeping banned city wide since Oct 2024 and that signs had been put up. No signs visible in this car park, though. Have they been taken down? Superficially, it appears like the council are less concerned about overnight sleeping here than at The Lawn car park.
stayed last night with no issues. next to the railway track but very quiet. special day rate is £3.60 from 3pm to 8am.plenty of spaces at the bottom end of the car park.next to the river for bigger motorhomes to hang over the grass . toilets open during the day
