Parking accessible by a small road but ok with our camper van (6.2 m x 2.20 m x 3 m). You arrive on a small clearing and the An Eilein Loch is 50 m away by foot. The price is expensive but includes services in the area. It helps out when all the campsites in the area are full.

Parked up for the night very quiet only us road up is fine I have a 8m motorhome plenty of walks for dogs and some lovely views of the Loch and castle.

  • 4/5

Great spot, lovely and quiet once the day traffic is gone. There are very basic toilets with fresh water tap on the side, but no dump facility. The bins are not really for camping and may be too full for use. So overall £15 is a bit steep, even if the surroundings are lovely and parking revenue goes towards the up keep.

  • 5/5

Great spot, would go there again or even a second night. Nice walk in the woods around the lake or visit Aviemore and the surrounding villages.

  • 5/5

The most perfect little spot, paid £15 for overnight stay, toilets and bins, gorgeous walk around the loch.

  • 5/5

  • 5/5

This was a great little spot. Great access to the loch, toilet facilities and an enclosed off lead area for dog. Would stay again.

  • 5/5

  • 5/5

Really lovely spot, 1 night max stay, 50m stroll to the loch, with a lovely (pebble) beach are, shop with coffee and ice cream, and clean toilets. Easy access to lots of scenic walks through the nature reserve, and nearby farm shop.

  • 5/5

Brilliant little park up for the night. Has fresh water tap, all night toilet, a little shop, near farm shop. The lake and castle is pretty. So much to do in the area. Will definitely use again. £15 per night.

  • 5/5

OK, 15£ for one night is quite expensive, but it's not just a blunt parking, it is located in a nature reserve, and the money is used for preserving the surroundings (not just for having a toilet with paper...). Beautiful view of the lake, nice little tour around the lake with gorgeous old trees... absolute calm during the night.

  • 4/5

  • 5/5

Lovely for a walk around the lake (5km). The local shop has some non-alcoholic drinks and souvenirs and is open 11am is to 4:30pm ish. There there also a small sauna and kayaks close to beach but as it was raining, we did not look how to rent either.

  • 3/5

There are toilets available all day and night. However 15£ for overnight parking is too much. Actually, we wanted to go to a campsite but were too late for booking or checking-in for the night (8pm). The lake was beautiful though.

  • 3/5

Sorry 15£ for just overnightparking and some toilets is way too much

  • 4/5

Peaceful nights sleep but phone signal kept dropping in and out. Not ideal if you’re planning to remote work- had to move on in the morning.

  • 5/5

  • 4/5

Had a nice stopover and a quiet night, arrived late afternoon and paid 15£ for overnight. Left next morning at 11.30 and had to pay an extra 3£ for the "day". The ranger forgot to tell us so don't forget to leave by 10am if you are not staying the day :)

  • 5/5

One of our favorite stops so far! Lovely 5km walk round the Loch, stunning scenery. We paddleboarded & swam. Great for kids & dogs! Lots of midges but that's standard. No issues with access, lots of big motorhomes here. Level parking. Toilets, no bins. Limited 4g. Definitely worth the money if you're doing more than just sleeping here.

  • 5/5

Wonderful place to stay. £15 paid to ranger or via qr code. Toilets always available. Small gift shop with snacks open from around 11am. Fresh water tap near entrance. Cafe and farm shop available on the main road. Lovely scenary.

  • 4/5

Payment when rangers have gone home is by QR code and a card. The code is on the hut. Toilets clean- no fires or BBQ. No bins

  • 4/5

price for a campervan is 15£ a night. Nice place to stay and the Loch is nice to take a swim. toilets are clean

  • 5/5

Lovely peaceful spot, well worth the price. Easy to find flat parking and the loch is beautiful.

  • 4/5

  • 5/5

Parked here for one night. Amazing spot; quiet, clean and a 2 minute walk to the loch and toilets. The following day the lovely wee shop was open, selling ice creams, drinks etc. The cycle around the loch is great- our 5 year old really enjoyed it as lots of ups and downs and a burn crossing (bridge if you don't want to go through the water).

  • 5/5

wundervoller Spot!

  • 3/5

paid £17 for 2 adults for the night. toilets and a nice loch walk cheaper than elsewhere!!

  • 4/5

Enjoyed this spot. £14 for two adults in a camper. Clean toilets. Beautiful loch that you walk around and swim in. Really quiet at night and plenty of space.

  • 4/5

  • 5/5

Great location with plenty of space. Very quiet. Really pretty trails around here - the trail that goes around the lake takes awhile longer than expected - plan for at least an hour and a half (about 3.5 miles) and the view doesn’t vary much.

  • 4/5

Parking calme à proximité du Loch an Eilein.

  • 1/5

£20 a night not worth it for the facilities you receive. Moved on. Option of £3 for all day parking. Policed by rangers at night for parking payment. Nice swim in the loch though. Can fill up water and toilets.

  • 5/5

Great overnight spot. Access via a quiet single track road, we managed to get a 4/6 berth motorhome there without too many much issue. Rangers do drive around car park and to collect the parking fee (£20) card or cash accepted. Great access to the Loch where we swam. Toilet block with drinking water tap (right sideof the building) 2 mins walk from the car park.

  • 4/5

Nice parking, quiet area and the walk around the loch is very pleasant but £20 is too high for the limited services it offers.

  • 4/5

Parking cost is £20 and a little overpriced. Otherwise recommended. Toilet and water tap are nearby and the Loch is great for a swim and nice walks.

  • 4/5

Bit expensive but well maintained and lots of space. You can book in advance and pay online. Would recommend.

  • 3/5

£20 for a campervan in August 2021, 5 mins walk from toilets and tap which are the only services. Loch is also 5 mins walk away. Surrounded by trees, quiet and few other vans in the very large space. Price was a bit high I thought, £10 - 14 would be more appropriate for what you get. Staff were nice though.

  • 4/5

I stayed here in November and was the only car in the carpark overnight. During the night there were 2 occasions of a car coming in, driving around then leaving. There were also a few cars in the morning with dog walkers, and 2 council employees cleaning up rubbish. it is quite a busy carpark but still well worth it for the walk around the loch and the toilets.

  • 5/5

Amazing spot! So peaceful and clean. 3 other vans stayed the night we did. Ample space for more. Great walks around the Loch and the toilets are open all night.

  • 5/5

6/9/2020 follow carpark to end and take a left turn you will find another carpark which is a bit more secluded, we paid £14 for a campervan with 2 adults , a walk around the loch took about an hour 3.5 miles but it's a nice easy walk no hills just follow the well maintained path , also a toilet is situated about 3 mins walk from car park ,

  • 5/5

Lovely spot. Is down a narrow lane and narrow bridge so possible max 6.5m. Is a charge but no one came to collect

  • 2/5

You have to drive a long way up an increasingly narrow lane. Very tricky when traffic is both ways. It is £15 plus £2 per person which is expensive for what you get but it is busy. Also lack of information upfront. Aviemore is popular destination but unless you want to visit Aviemore think there is better destinations, but site ok.

  • 4/5

Great location once the day walkers had moved on. Very busy in the day. £16 charge for the night with very basic toilet but sheltered on a night when a big storm was on its way. The short walks in the area were stunning so a good quiet base for a night.

  • 5/5

Toller Platz! Sehr empfehlenswert!

  • 4/5

Its a beautiful spot located at Loch Eilein. WC and visitor center. We stayed one night, payed 14£ for 2 adults and a camper van. Service at Rothiemurchus Camping nearby the next morning is included.

  • 4/5

  • 4/5

Spent the day only but seems like a beautiful spot to spend the night. Toilets and picnic benches available and a few nice hiking trails that set off from the carpark. Daily entry fee is £1.50 per adult as at Oct 2017.
