Really lovely views and great for a walk but the whole car park is on a big slope. I don’t think it would be as bad at the front of the car park but I have a LWB and can’t fit in those spaces and didn’t want to park on the grass because of heavy rain. That being said, there is always space especially in the evenings unless there is a fun run on. No parking restrictions.
All spots are sloping but some are better than others so avoid the middle of the car park. Vehicles were in and out until about 3am but was a Saturday so unsure if that makes a difference. The police did drive round with their lights on at one point so there was no trouble from anyone. Wasn't the most restful night, but it's lovely in the morning for a walk!
Great park up for one night. Safe and quiet with a nice view of the lake.
Super Platz zum übernachten. Sehr ruhig und in der Natur. Morgends ein schöner Spaziergang an den Seen entlang, bevor man wieder weiterfährt. Genügend Plätze vorhanden. Tagsüber allerdings voll.
had a very peaceful nights sleep in this lovely little park overlooking the lake. was busy during the evening with joggers etc but no problems.
Lots of space to park for Motorhomes free! Nice Run or walk around the lake. Some people coming and going during the night. People fishing the lake so I feel like they are keeping a bit of an eye on their own vehicles and on the carpark in general so felt safe enough, parked over near the trees out of the way from the Entrance/Exit
Nice quiet night, no problems. It is under the Luton airport flight path but there were no lanes overnight. Some areas have no marked parking spaces so perfect for larger motorhomes. 30 mins into Stevenage.
Nice park up shame about the boy racer that makes them a real man to rev their engines all the time, especially near to vans. Engine noise from 22:00 to 02:30. And then music from 06:30. I would not recommend staying unless you are deaf
Excellent place to stay. Car park has subtle slope if you come in to car park, immediately right towards tree is flattest part. It’s in the middle of Stevenage so during evening you will see cars in and out but no issues at all. Car park is overlooked by lots of residential apartments so noise would generate lots of complaint from them plus there is a sign up banning car gatherings. EE and Vodafone good signal. Very quiet at night once it gets late. Car parking spaces in centre will take very large motorhomes. Access roads in to area and nice and wide too.
only 4 stars as the toilets were not 24/7, plus a few "car park kiddies" coming in and out at night. This did not affect our stay and still had a good night's sleep. very popular with dogs walkers, park runs and fitness stuff the following morning. coffee shop was open, however dogs are not allowed inside. Friendly people, would recommend this free stop over. No height restrictions.
pretty safe was a few vans parked as well. couple of rubbish bins about and no overnight restrictions. part of the car park is on a slope but can find parts that are level easily. shops a few mins walk and post office.
Easy to get to from A1M. No height barrier. Large car park with long spaces to the left when you drive in. No lighting so had a good night’s sleep. Safe. Fishermen park here to fish on the lake overnight. Beautiful lake with geese and swans. Takes about 20 minutes to walk around so a nice start to the day. Friendly morning joggers and dog walkers.

Not my favourite. At night it’s clearly the spot where young people hang out in their cars, playing music and talking loudly which wasn’t very settling. That being said it is right by a lake which is nice and other campers here. In the morning I had no problem with disturbances.

Nice location, fairly flat mostly. It can be noisy though, stayed a few times as it's close to work. Noise from locals cars bikes etc.. the constant planes flying overhead and the wildlife in the lake. Safe and a worthwhile stopover otherwise.
Ein sehr idyllischer Ort, der jedoch abends zur Rennstrecke wird. Wir sind dort mit unserem 9,5 Meter langen Wohnmobil gestanden. 3 weitere Camper waren auch dort. Bis eine Truppe von ca 15 Jugendlichen in 6 getunten Autos kam und Donuts um unsere Camper drehten. Sie ließen die Motoren aufheulen, hupten und hatten ihren Spaß. Wir nicht! Alle Camper sind nach und nach weggefahren, weil es immer mehr Autos wurden. Das Verbotsschild bezüglich car cruising am Eingang hatte sie nicht interessiert. Sehr schade, dass wir diesen wunderschönen Park und See nicht weiterempfehlen können, doch wir hatten wirklich ein ungutes Gefühl. Wer weiß, was gelangweilten Teenagern einfällt, wenn man Kritik an ihrem Handeln ausübt …
Schöner Parkplatz an einem schönen See, aber: bis 1:30 AM kamen und fuhren (mit Pausen) Gruppen von Boyracern, inklusive lauter Motoren und lauter Gespräche, und das an einem Mittwoch. Selten so schlecht geschlafen. Schade.
Lovely little spot. We had a peaceful nights sleep. Lots of dog walkers in the morning so if this will bother you then park close to the entrance and not by the lake. We wanted a nice view to wake up to though.
A lovely park with a lake with ducks. Most sites have a slight slope but we don't care. Very good Laundrette only 5 min drive from this park. The Oval Laundrette 27 The Oval, Stevenage. Small wash machine £6 - two other size machines. Dry mchne £1 for 8 mins. Very helpful lady and has coins. Med size car park behind laundrette, our 7.5m MH fitted ok, it was Wed they could be busier on wk'end.
hoy Lunes 7 de agosto de 2023 nos hemos quedado aquí a dormir perfecto tranquila la noche junto a otra autocaravana. nuestra autocaravana mide 9 metros integral y está perfecto para pernoctar y pasar el día tiene un lago para pasear mesas en el césped para desayunar. y tiene unos pequeños bidones de basura. lo recomendamos un saludo

Absolutely stunning stopover. over looking the lake. Very quiet over night(Sunday). As stated, no signage for no overnight sleeping.
We stopped here for two nights without an issue. Practical site with space, benches, bins, public toilets (4 min walk away) and cafe. More importantly, a nice place to stay with relaxing lakes to eat at, walk/jog around etc.
Great stopover nice walks round lake, bins available. cafe near by too.
