Mobile homes wider than 2.3 meters wouldn’t fit. our mobile home of 2.3 meters fitted barley and we damaged our side lights. There is also no way to turn if you don’t fit. That said it’s a beaaaautiful place to stay for the night! Absolutely breathtaking.

Disappointed the amount of human poo in the wooded area. The lack of common sense to take your rubbish with you and not leave it tied up outside for the foxes to get into. The local residents are forced to clean up after those that simply don’t have respect for the place. The locals only ask that you donate in the honesty box and leave no trace. If you follow that, it will remain a great park up.

Wonderful spot. Stayed one night back in May. Quiet and peaceful nights sleep . Donation in box for local school

  • 5/5

Perfect spot for hikes or overnight. pub one mile away. phone and internet signal

  • 5/5

Great quiet Spot with good walks, a small donation can be made for using the car park if you so desire.

The road has a 6'6" or 2m width limit and because of the walls of listed buildings in this conservation area being very old it is Not suitable for large vans or motorhomes. It is also illegal to do so and local people are not happy with irresponsible drivers forcing there vehicles through this village.

Mooi rustige plek!

Free car park. Very quiet at night and busy in the morning as it's the beginning of numerous hikes. No facilities around whatsoever but nice views and sheeps !

  • 5/5

Hidden gem. Free parking, donation if you want. Didn’t sleep but parked up for the day. Backs right onto the start of a lovely hike up to the Hayeswater reservoir (glacial lake) 100% recommend. Was fairly busy so not an unknown spot

Village car park with honesty box with money going to the local primary school. Resident came out and explained they are happy as long as you leave the carpark as you found it.... Does get busy in nice weather

  • 5/5

Superb spot. Silent, level, fantastic walks from the car park. An honesty box for donations. Pretty tight access (my van 205 x 600 and just made it) dog walkers early morning- fabulous views.

a beautiful, secluded spot in the Lake District which is very quiet. A local neighbour does not mind if people leave their vehicles overnight and either wild camp on the fells or sleep in their vehicles. there is phone signal on SMARTY (Three) but previously with Vodafone I had no signal. a beautiful beck runs by note it gets busy at weekends and there is an honesty box for coins at the gate

ot looks like this is closed off. Arrived after dark to find a locked gate. Interesting trying to reverse my 7m Crafter back down the tight lane

  • 5/5

Owner of the land came out before dark to say it is fine to stay here, but just a request to not leave any litter. Beautiful views and quiet!

TOP

Flat car park with great views and 4G on O2. Please make a donation in the box on the gate. Local chap came round and asked if I was staying the night. Said I was OK to stay, but please don't leave any rubbish outside overnight, as it attracts foxes.

Got knocked up by national trust 5:05 in morning telling me to move on and no overnight.. there were another 3 vans all got knocked up. Very annoying considering there is cars parked there all night.

  • 5/5

Nice and quiet with a flat surface. No service. Wonderful views. Slightly tight to get in but our lwb managed it fine. Many options for walks near by. Friendly, dog loving locals.

  • 4/5

Nice enough location, stayed here for one night. Fairly tight to get into up a single track road so wouldn’t want to drive it in a larger vehicle. Free roaming sheep so dogs on a lead but beautiful views!

  • 5/5

Endroit parfait pour y passer la nuit. Calme… dès randonneurs le matin, des moutons le soir. Petit torrent en contrebas. Nous avons pris la peine de nous présenter à l’un des habitants du hameau venu jeter un œil…. On y a passé 2 nuits.

  • 5/5

Local community car park. Locals kindly allow respectful campers to use overnight. Tight on the entrance I barely got up with my lwb crafter, wouldn't of tried if I knew! Great spot for one quick overnight. No toilets so please only camp if you have somewhere to go which isn't on the land! Locals friendly but have had some bad experiences with some campers. Stay respectful guys.

A gorgeous place. We have just arrived and it is stunning, looking to stay one night as a stop over. Wherever you look there’s a HUGE mountain and just down into the trees infront of you is a lovely river with a mini waterfall. It’s lovely a quiet and Definitly well respected. Let’s hope it stays like that!!

  • 5/5

Had a great park up. Met Roy the guy who lives next door to the car park who is a really decent bloke and does his best to keep it well maintained. Please remember this is sort of his backyard and it’s only right that that should be respected. Had a cracking walk in the heavy rain to return to glorious sunshine. Highly recommended spot but if you can’t respect the place stay the f::k away

  • 4/5

Look out for the local chap. He says that people are welcome to stay but bangs on about people littering. Private land, so he says. Lots of walkers arriving early morning and the car park got very busy. Left before I got boxed in.

  • 4/5

Great park up but the lane is marked 6'6" and it does get rather narrow just before the car park. Having said that we did access it in our 5.5 meter motorhome which is 2.3 metres wide (just). Phone signal and 4g available on O2 and 3.

  • 5/5

Lovely little parkup, very peaceful with the sound of the brook/river/beck ever constant. Absolutely no signal for phone or TV so a great location to disconnect. 6 campers/motor homes already parked up when i arrived, and a 4x4 parked up late at night, can highly recommend a stop.

  • 5/5

Parked here before during day for walk but this time arrived last night at 4am, 1 van that could have been or could not have been occupied and 1 empty car but the place is huge. Got my head down and didn’t wake up until 9.30am, so peaceful, only heard 1 lot of people arrive to walk. Leaving van here to go for a hike ?

  • 5/5

Lovely area with good views and more sheltered than other local spots. Felt very safe. Free to park and stay the night (there is a donation box if you can spare some pennies, proceeds to the nearby school). Local gentleman came and checked up on us, was very nice a chatty, told us how the community wanted to keep the spot free and open. Asked us to keep rubbish/food in the van due to the badgers.

  • 5/5

Beautiful place to park up, the gentleman who lives here is very kind and asked us if we were staying overnight, which wasn’t a problem, but he did ask us not to leave any bin bags outside as the badgers like to be very destructive! Clearly a well loved and very clean spot! Thanks so much x

  • 5/5

Great spot spoke to a local really nice helpful chap quiet clean must be self contained Great spot for walking busy with walkers in the day time absolutely zero signal so take something to do

  • 5/5

quiet spot with lots of walks around. busy with walkers around 8am no signal at all donation bucket for local community

  • 5/5
