Absolutely beautiful spot, at the start of a barely used walking trail with views over the estuary. Very rural hardstanding parking. Perfect for walkers or owners with FurBabies, please be respectful when visiting this site. Don't park inbetween the pub and the car park. The village has lovely bakeries and places for breakfast, and the area is silent at night.

What a find! The Ribble Way car park is a perfect rural stop. Solid gravel hardstanding with plenty of space. The views across the estuary are absolutely stunning, especially for sunset and sunrise. Being so rural, it was incredibly peaceful and we had a silent night. A top-tier spot for a quiet getaway. Village not far away, easy to locate. Great views and great for photographers

Initially seemed like a great stop over. Was busy until the pub closed and then I was the only van. Unfortunately someone tried to get in my van at 2am! I did a quick exit. Be careful.- not recommended for solo travellers. May be safer in summer when it’s busier.

  • 5/5

Pretty nice parking. The car park by the shooting range/inn was busy so I instead parked up the road a little on a layby. Very quiet night, barely any cars and some nice views of the fields of cattle around. You can also go up past the inn and park at the end of the dirt road, I checked the next morning. App says there is a water tap here but couldn't find it.. decent 4g though

Couldn’t find this place, directions led to a busy pub, road is very narrow and difficult when you need to turn around

  • 5/5

An absolutely beautiful and spacious site with stunning views over the estuary. It's incredibly peaceful and was silent all night. You're seconds from the waterside path, with endless walks for furry friends. The village is a short stroll away for amenities, and the locals were all so friendly and welcoming. Recycling bins a plenty and views over fields a great place to just unwind

An absolutely beautiful and spacious site with stunning views. It's incredibly peaceful and was silent all night. You're just seconds from the estuary, with plenty of fantastic walks for furry friends. The local village is a short stroll away and has great amenities, including bakeries and a pub. A perfect rural stopover. Minutes from the main road but silent and views over fields 5✨️

Ottimo posto tranquillo vicino al pub, passeggiate e tutto gratis, l’unico problema che arrivando alla domenica vi è un ritrovo pare per un poligono. Confermo che non vi sono servizi.

  • 5/5

beautiful location easy to find and park up lovely walk along the estuary, aswell as great views of the sunset. undisturbed sleep. Great spot my wife said its the best location we've stayed in. I have returned since and its been quiet every time ive been

  • 1/5

Very noisy at night with the pub there.

  • 4/5

  • 5/5

Great find! Only minutes walk away from the Marsh and with beautiful views over fields. Car park was very spacious and could accommodate several vans. Friendly locals and Hardstanding level parking. Very quiet spot, with amenities nearby. Hidden gem!

  • 5/5

Great stopover, really friendly locals and a beautiful area. We were lucky to see a high tide, lots of walks for varying abilities and lots of room for furry friends to wander the countryside. Had a great nights sleep, no disturbances, bins provided. Will return, definitely recommend :)

  • 5/5

What a hidden gem! Spacious parking with nature all around and a few minutes walk to the Ribble Estuary/ The Ribble Way. What a spectacular site to see, when the tide comes in! Views over fields, it was really easy to locate & the parking was spacious, hardstanding. No disruptions during the night or other vehicles coming. Great spot!

  • 5/5

Stayed here Sunday & Monday, beautiful spot, absolutely silent! . Friendly locals who directed us to many different walks and shared the best pubs & cafes etc within the local area. Monday we walked to all of the local beauty spots. Enjoying the views over the fields when opening the curtains and strolling upto the estuary with the sound of nature. Should be RSPB the amount of birds we saw!

  • 5/5

Lovely stay, beautiful views of the northern lights. Easy parking. Friendly locals out walking. Silent at night, and beautiful scenery. no height restrictions Hardstanding, Friendly locals and views over fields and only minutes from the Ribble Estuary. Great signal. Would recommend a great stopover on the way to or from Southport.

  • 5/5

Absolute Gem of a site with beautiful views, we stayed for 2 nights in a 7.9m Overcab. The council owned car park adjacent to the pub was spacious and we had great signal. It was level and hardstanding and the amount of wildlife at the estuary just a few minutes walk away was astonishing. Great views, recycling bins, absolutely lovely spot. Definitely recommend. Really friendly locals. A

This is not a pub stopover, nor a camping/caravan site. It's a road with a dead end. Don't park in the large car park on the right as it belongs to the pub and it's not a service they provide. They say they can't stop people parking out on the road but it's not flat and you'd be causing a bother for the locals. If you do decide to stop here speak to the pub owners first and ask permission.

  • 5/5

We spotted this whilst looking for a place for a nights stayover. The car park is rural, roomy, easy to locate. Locals are friendly, and he mornings walk along the estuary was beautiful. Just outside RSPB so the amount of wildlife is spectacular. With the car park being down a rural lane, it's quiet at night. and the car park is level. Great signal aswell. 5* from us .

  • 1/5

This is basically a lay-by outside a small pub, next to some houses. V disappointing! The bar staff told me that they get lots of people looking for the place to park and its not really a parking spot but they were v nice n said its a highways lay-by so I can stay. There's not many places to park around here and all the campsites seem to be CC members only so not much choice.

  • 5/5

Stayed the night before last, really peaceful, no disruptions. beautiful surroundings.

  • 5/5

Amazing views, easy to find, beautiful cafes in village. highly recommend. Very peaceful.

  • 5/5

Peaceful, quiet, lovely walks in the morning, nearby lpg station. hardstanding and the village is beautiful with lots of little cafes, plenty of spots to park. Wasn't hard to find and some lovely 1 van spots along the road with views over the field. Be courteous, please clean up after yourselves as it is a small village and the people are lovely. Perfect for walkers or van owners with fur babies

  • 5/5

Friendly people, easy parking, beautiful location, peaceful walks what more could you ask for. Easy to navigate to, lovely food and drink at the pub, and genuinely had a great time talking with different people from the locality. The sunset on the estuary made for great photography. Easy access to services about a mile away. I would definitely recommend myself. definitely will b bk.

  • 4/5

ITS NOT a pub car park stop over - everyone in area very friendly - pub which does good food and ale - however that said very quiet at night when pub empties and great walks near by

  • 5/5

Fantastic rural scenery, with just the sound of nature at night. We got here late and stopped here as a layover so we could get some much needed sleep (Other locations south were so busy). We usually don't leave reviews but this place was too good not too. Please treat it with respect otherwise we will loose it <3 (PS lovely walk along the estuary)

  • 5/5

Stayed here on a road trip and needed a day to get some peace and quiet. Spots like this are a rarity to be cherished, everyone I spoke to was friendly and welcoming, I made sure I was in a corner and especially at night all you can hear is nature. The food and drinks were lovely, and a rare treat. Had a short walk to the viewpoint as suggested, I will be returning.

  • 5/5

Parking was easy and plentiful, lovely food and drink from the pub, we parked out of the way and had a beautiful 2 night stay. Navigating was easy via someone else's recommendation just to put in Ribble way car park in Google maps. Had a good night's sleep and went off hiking the first day on one of the many walks. Beautiful food and drink, and WiFi. Would recommend.

  • 5/5

We ventured here as there are services nearby, following the previous reviews we decided to go midweek. The owners of the car park were amazing, directing us to the best spot. Hard standing parking with lovely views, the sunrise over the estuary was beautiful. Even in the summer holidays there was plenty of room. This will be one of our go to spots. Easy navigation via Google maps. A

We came here on a Saturday Evening, big mistake!!! there is a function room on the car park and there was a birthday party going on so loads of cars turned up and pounding music from 7.00pm to Midnight. also from 10pm till 1.00 am there were v bright floodlights lit up the entire car park until staff eventually went home. probably best to avoid Saturdays, apart from that? great little spot!

  • 5/5

Brilliant park up, choice of either gravel, or hardstanding with a view over fields, perfect walking trail 50yds away (if you have a 4x4 van you could get right up to the trail entrance), pub open in the day for refreshments/food. Easy to navigate to, and one of the quietest park ups we've ever been to.

  • 5/5

Absolutely stunning views across the estuary, beautiful surroundings (rural) and totally free. Definitely recommend. No height restrictions, easy to navigate to and hardstanding.
