great spot ,no longer an honesty box or water, council have now got involved, made farmer take honesty box down and turn the water off, they are complaining that he is attracting too many campervans to the beach area , the are looking to reduce the numbers, the farmer is trying to sort something out hopefully he is successfull, it would be a shame if this was added to the growing list of no camping

The layout has changed since I visited last. Areas where heavy vehicles are causing dune subsidence are roped off. The tap is there but the nearest bin is at the bus stop. I could not find the honesty box. I went to the caravan at the Croft house but the farmer was not there. I left the £10 in the honesty box at the showers at the harbor. I wonder if sites on machair are now restricted

Beautiful place, right on the beach, super peaceful and plenty of space. Can’t wait to come back

  • 5/5

Wunderschöner Ort. Es gibt leider keine Möglichkeit mehr, zu bezahlen. Auch ist der Mülleimer entfernt. Hoffe, dass dieser Platz erhalten bleibt ??

One of the prettiest parkings on the Hebrides - views across the water to Harris isle are absolutely stunning! Great white sand beach that turn huge at the low tide. Water and garbage bin. Please, park at least 10 m away from the grass edge - lots of signs asking to do it and still people plop right at the end.

park up on the grass above the beach. £10 honesty box with water and bin provided. excellent views across to Harris and a lovely sandy beach. easy to find a flat area and plenty of space.

Stunning location with a bin and water facility, £10 honesty box so please make sure you contribute. Lovely walk up past the cemetery to the west beach.

wunderschöne Aussicht und absolut ruhig gelegen! Wunderschön

Einer der besten Plätze, auf denen wir waren. Bitte nicht vergessen 10 Pfund zu bezahlen und haltet den Platz sauber ! ck

  • 5/5

Great view and very well organised. Thanks a lot for the possibility to stay here. Worth more than 10 pounds ..

  • 5/5

Absolutely amazing stop over. Stunning views. So quiet. Please observe the £10 a night donation because water and rubbish collection is provided by the owner of the Croft but unfortunately people are not paying.

  • 5/5

Beautiful sport with honesty box £10 a night. Water tap and bins available. Signs advise to insure that you park up 10metres from the edge to help preserve the banking for the beach. Views are worth the £10

What an amazing place to stay! right on the beach front.. peaceful.. beautiful. Pay by Honesty Box or PayPal using the QR code on the post. I spoke to the owner.. very nice guy. He was saying something like 80-90% of people don't pay.. crazy and sad at the same time. Don't be a cheapskate otherwise places like this will disappear! pay your dues!

  • 5/5

This is simply beautiful- thank you for allowing us to stay. Please do leave your £10 in the honesty box; it’s worth every penny

Great spot. £10 honesty box donation. Directly overlooks beach. It was very quiet when we went. Gorgeous views over to Harris, saw a few seals and the water was nice and still for paddleboarding. Short drive to ferry port where there is fresh water & chem toilet disposal. No bad smell from seaweed now.

  • 5/5

Great park up. Really peaceful, plenty of opportunity to get level. Honesty box, water tap, bins. Signs asks no more than 5 vehicles at once so it’s easy to still feel completely alone (in a good way). Beach is vast at low tide but LOTS of smelly seaweed at the moment.

  • 5/5

A beautiful place to spend the night, very quiet. QR code to pay £10 donation. We paid happily to keep this gem of a spot open for us all.

  • 5/5

Lovely peaceful spot. The grass is very firm as on sand, so fine in wet winter weather. Fresh water available, with an honesty box, £10 can be paid on line by a Qr code. Beautiful views, and a lovely sandy beach to walk along. Sheep roam freely so keep dogs on a long lead.

Fantastischer Platz! Uns wurde von einem Einheimischen mitgeteilt, dass dieser Platz im 2025 ausgebaut wird. Aber auch heute schon ist es ein wunderschöner Ort. Abfall kann hier entsorgt werden. Sonst keine Facilities.

  • 1/5

True… it’s closed „reconstruction“ and there is a fence and several „no overnight“ signs. But beautiful for abschort walk or visiting the sea.

  • 1/5

Now closed, the land owners have fenced off the area and had to stop people staying. Sadly this area has become a victim of its own popularity.

  • 5/5

Lovely island, lovely parking area looking right over the beach. Grass bit tricky to navigate with some deep ruts but spectacular views. Well worth £10 donation box. Showers and toilets at harbour short drive away. Island Visitor centre worth a visit and local bistro delicious.

  • 5/5

Best pitch so far, amazing views & well worth the £10 honesty box, hopefully as previously mentioned everyone uses! Only 10 mins from ferry.

  • 5/5

Fantastic grassy beachside location on a Croft. No facilities but incredible views to Harris. Perfectly happy to pay £10 suggested location for this park up. Exposed to wind..

  • 5/5

Parking on grass alongside a white sand beach and turquoise water. Very peaceful and feels very private as all the vans and Motorhomes keep a good distance apart. Worth the suggested £10 per night. Honesty box is clear to see. Please use it. I spoke to one guy in a van who said no one pays. That’s a bad attitude to take. If no one ends up paying this site will probably be removed. And that means there are no alternatives on Berneray.

  • 5/5

Stunning views across to islands and Harris. Beautiful place, highly recommended and well worth the £10.

  • 5/5

Parked here on the 5th May 2023, glorious spot right on the beech, several spaces available with amazing views. Highly recommended for self sufficient vehicles as no facilities near by, but a good 10 minutes walk to the harbour facilities are clean and tidy with showers. Nearest chemical disposal is at the ferry terminal and drinking water and grey east there too.

  • 5/5

Amazing beachside park up! Suggested £10 donation seems a bit rich as there are no facilities but still stunning. Toilets, bins and shower at small harbour 5 minutes away.
