Pretty good park up. The hiking trails / forest nearby are expansive and lovely to walk through (as long as they're not muddy) and plenty of parking spots to choose from here. Busy during the day but much quieter at night as to be expected, on a Sat night one car pulled up and had brights on for 15 mins before leaving but otherwise not too much activity. Close to amenities and good 4g
Wow !! what a find. we could not believe this was free as it is managed by the Forestry comission. Large flat(ish) gravel carpark for fabulous woodland area and tucked to the side of a quiet side road. Very popular with dog walkers, families, hikers and horse riders but so vast it felt empty. one other van when we stayed on 31st Jan but imagine this area is very popular in summer. Amazing

Lovely park up with amazing walks. There was one other camper too. Unfortunately when we stayed, someone drove into the car park at night and just drove in circles for a while before driving off. Then, at about 1am someone drove in and kept honking their horn before driving off. Although it is a beautiful place, it didn’t feel very safe. Also very busy with walkers in the day but that was fine.

Great stop last night got there then shortly after police came in but was fine new to wild camping very quiet and safe
Stayed a night after visiting Southampton Boat show. Southampton about 40 minutes away. Lovely woodland carpark. Few dog walkers as other have said but otherwise very peaceful. We were the only ones there overnight and there were no issues. Village with shops/petrol etc close by.
Really peaceful night, quiet when we arrived at 5pm but busy the next morning with walkers. It was bank holiday weekend so surprised it wasn't more busy! would happily stay again. great walks in the woods.
Lovely, peaceful nights stay. Everyone we spoke to was very friendly.
stayed in this spot a few times now. locals are friendly, loads of dog walkers because you can walk for miles. not one drop of litter anywhere. please keep it that way, and don't park right on the entrance to the woods because A. everyone walks past, and B. its a path!
Perfect quiet spot , lots of dog walkers in the evening and morning. Wake up to dawn chorus and peace. Glorious woods to walk in
quiet spot, one other van present, good hardstanding, busy with dog walkers in am but no one bothered me, woke up hearing the woodpeckers, very easy!
Great spot but I recommend arriving with daylight. it's complicated to park at night because there is absolutely no light.
As previously said, busy with dog walkers, but lovely quiet spot at night, surrounded by woods. Great for visiting Jane Austen’s House just 5 minutes away.
Very peaceful car park by the woods, with lots for the kids to play. There are lots of dog walkers during the day, but extremely quiet at night.
Lovely, peaceful stopover on the edge of the woods. It should be called "ten out of ten marks" rather than four marks!
This was a great nights sleep. Only disturbance was an owl. Right next to a large wood great for gravel/MTB or walking too. Be prepared for early morning dog walkers arrival.
Nous y avons passé une bonne nuit calme, une ou deux voitures sont venues en début de nuit il n’y avait rien d’inquiétant. Beaucoup de promenade de chiens. Joli endroit boisé
