Arrived tonight to find the height restriction in place.
Did what we needed! Close enough to walk to town. £10 overnight, 6pm-9am. Quiet even though it is next to a busy ish road. Over the road is a Morrisons supermarket and petrol station. Don’t rely on the “beach” here as it’s largely mud, but a decent beach across town if you need a running spot for a dog. They’ve opened up the height barrier to allow for motorhomes, no restriction.
Die Höhenbeschränkung ist aktuell weggeklappt und es gibt auch extra eingezeichnete Camperstellplätze.
Height restriction barrier in place so we couldn't get in but saw quite a few lower /smaller vans in there. We drove a few hundred yards along the road and found a stopover with no height restriction though.
A height restriction barrier is in place so may only be suitable for low-roofed camper vans
Superb quiet spot where Motorhomes face onto beach. Set back about 50mtrs from road. Easy direct access onto the beach which has many waders and other seabirds. Perfect flat / massive sands which are great for dogs. Payment sign was covered with black plastic so It appears to be free from end September.
Spent day and night here. Handy for shops. We enjoyed sunny beer garden at the Harbour Bar. Huge beach. Morrisons across the road for loos open from 7am - 10pm. Swimming pool across the road. Road busy during the day but quiet at night. Yacht marina nearby. Generous parking bays dedicated to Motorhomes. £10 per night by pay by phone. Stunning views over the Firth of Clyde coastline.
Stayed here various nights. Usually quiet. Unfortunately since my last stay, the council have removed all of the large recycling bins, replacing them with one general waste bin. Disappointing especially as its now peak campervan season. Those of us who live full time in our vans need more facilities. Expensive for a night when you look at the rest of Europe and the superior value they provide.
Advertising £10 a night from 6pm to 8am maximum of 3 night stays no height restriction barrier. Pay by phone. FREE during the day 15/5/2023
The local council are trialling providing motor home parking in this car park. There are 5 designated spaces but no facilities. The signs say £10 a night using App but the location has been covered over on the sign and the nearby location not listed on the App. Great for an overnight stay, quiet area. Morrisons supermarket and garage 200 yards across the road.
Height restriction. we managed yo squeeze under we are 2.1m
10 marked spaces. stayed afternoon only (single pensioner on a very limited income). recycling bins and general waste bins.
now an experimental £10 per night campervan stop no height restrictions
