We visit Girvan often, its one of our favourite places to go beautiful views, great food at Yasmins, Austins, Harbour cafe and Flynns Boatyard great to see it open again. Girvan is still looking sad but it needs visitors to help regenerate it.

  • 2/5

Never had trouble here before, but last night, the sad little kids, in their sad little fiestas parked up, first to see who's lights shone furthest out to sea(with their sad engines running), then who's horn was the loudest. then about 11.30 they were banging on the vans. AND WE PAID £10 FOR THAT PRIVILIDGE..

  • 4/5

Perfect for 1 night for parkrun. Spectacular sunset behind Ailsa Craig. About 7 spaces used. There can be a bit of early noise from the refurbishment of the leisure centre which is currently closed. A little noise from visiting cars but no trouble and gone home by a reasonable time. Good walk along the prom for about 1 mile. The town is a little tired the area around the harbour is interesting.

  • 4/5

Très belles vues, au calme. Il manque des sanitaires

  • 4/5

Lovely place to stay but for £10 a night I'd expect facilities. Awesome for parkrun, literally 5 meters from the start line!

  • 4/5

  • 2/5

As of June 29th there are no facilities here at all. No gray waste disposal, no black waste disposal and no water. There are motorhome bays and a 10pound per night charge. There are free alternative elsewhere. The Harbour Bar over the road is a fab friendly little boozer that welcomes dogs though. Some real characters in there

  • 5/5

Decent enough stay, bays are well sized, good views over the Ailsa Craig. Would use again. Only bad point was the chemical waste point was full and needed emptying, but that would have just been a bonus

  • 5/5

The last post I disagree with I don't know where u parked but the views from this area are amazing unless there was no seafront places left. Girvan is a lovely wee town with some lovely eateries e.g Yasmins on Dalrymple St an amazing Indian, Austins across from the motorhome parking is great and The Harbour for fish and chips is fab. The town is tired but needs more visitors and less criticism.

  • 1/5

I found the place and town tired and unkept. The beach was strewn with litter. You cannot see the beach as such from the motor home bays because of the sea wall. I moved onto the other location which was slightly better. It was just ok if you want a quick stop over. The only main supermarket is on the other side of town heading north if you need provisions.

  • 5/5

All spaces taken Saturday night in May during good weather. Busy with cars at the weekend during the day but quiet at night, could listen to the sea. Great views from the front pitches. Short walk to the fishing port and town but we mainly chilled by the beach. Pay machine wasn't working, we used the app advertised on signs. £10 per night, free during day so no need to leave early.

  • 4/5

Levelish car park with great sea views if the get the right spot. Black waste tanks seems to be nearly full. Not sure how/even when it gets emptied. Bonus though was the tap was working on the outside of the toilet block. Very peaceful night and I don't object at all to paying £10 for the views and peace

  • 4/5

Old entry has low height barrier, there's another entry with a very high height barrier. The place looks tired especially the building structure in the right hand corner, cmon Girven spend some money and brighten the place up.

  • 5/5

Great spot right by the beach with wonderful sea views. spacious motorhome parking spaces and toilets 30p. Free daytime parking and £10 overnight. No height barriers

  • 2/5

Arrived and there is a 2.5m height barrier.

  • 4/5

Spot on , ground is a bit off level but great sea view and has black waste disposal tank on the corner of the car park, £10 overnight payable over phone , quite night

  • 2/5

CDA full otherwise for flat safe parking near the sea and restaurants no caravan with generator present well demarcated spaces 2 vans when we popped in to use the services

  • 5/5

    belle place avec de l'espace.

  • 3/5

Good location for access to town and beach. The town is rundown. Next to the leisure centre which is closed under renovation. £10 to stay over night. Plenty of bins for rubbish. 50p to use toilets which were clean enough. Chemical disposal point. There is a caravan right next to the car park which ran a noisy generator 247. Probably better park ups near by which are free.

  • 4/5

I just wanted to end the comments with a good review rather than the 1-stars below. Lovely location right on the beach, no road noise (or a camper's generator until 10:30pm) like the free place a mile south. Blackwater disposal so you don't have to pay for the toilets if you don't want. Great for dog walking. Well worth £10.

  • 1/5

Just don’t. It’s a free car park all day for all then campers have to pay for over night plus pay extra for the loo. Why? No facilities, & the grounds not even flat. Go 400 yards up the road for free & toilets are free there as well. KA26 9HP, don’t be put off by locals coming & going for the great fish & chips there, plus Italian ice shop opposite :-)

  • 1/5

  • 5/5

Well laid out overnight parking for up to 16 vehicles. There's a chemical disposal point (the blue lidded thing at the rear of the quayside leisure centre (which is currently closed)) and public toilets within 20m. The tap for water on the same building as the public toilets is turned off, but if you go to the building in front of this (so at the harbour), there is a tap there that provides water

  • 3/5

Lovely spot right by the sea. Motorhome spaces flattish. Paid via the app but didn't see code for toilets/shower. Could have been operator error! Good recycling bins but water tap not working. There is a large blue tank where someone emptied their toilet. No signs so not sure if correct or not. It is now 50p to use the public toilets, all contact less payment

  • 4/5

Great park up for coming and going on the Cairnryan Ferry. The Quays swimming pool is closed for renovations (March 24). Disappointed with the Harbour Bar - we were refused service because we had a child with us, this was before 8pm.

  • 4/5

£10 a night all year now. Toilets 30p which you pay by card. Showers at The Quay for £4.10. Lovely to wake up to a view of the sea.

  • 3/5

£10 per night payable via an app. Good size designated motorhome spaces which are pretty level. Great views over the beach & is right in town centre. Toilets 30p. Some bins there but couldn’t see any fresh water (other than toilet sinks) or black waste disposal. Flynn’s Boatyard is a dog friendly bar that do great fish & chips.

  • 5/5

Good provision. Used for an overnighter before the ferry. Quiet night.

  • 5/5

Great stopover plenty of Motorhome parking bays chemical toilet disposal point. Toilets. Swimming pool with showers sandy beach

  • 5/5

  • 4/5

Lots of dedicated MH bays - chemical disposal compound round the back near the public toilets

  • 2/5

Been here good few times and loved it , went last weekend and was really disappointed other motorhome had drinking session out side campervan with music blaring and maybe 6 to 8 people who turned up in cars and another campervan had generator going to power there electricity would not go back

  • 1/5

    Absolutely NO facilities.. Nothing...for £10....

  • 1/5

There is a tap but no water running so no way to fill in the tank.

  • 4/5

Do to vandalism last year 2022 South Ayrshire Council have withdrawn the shower and washing machine facilities.

  • 2/5

No showers !! - the parking area is safe and fine, with toilets nearby, but charging 10£ is a bit much since they’ve taken away the showers. It’s really what brought us here… urgh !

  • 5/5

Now £10 all year round. We use our own facilities, so no issue if toilets & showers have closed. It is a very good safe spot close to shops, cafes & takeaways. I don't understand people complaining about paying for this facility. If the council put up height barriers to stop us parking in the area, then there would be something to complain about

  • 1/5

Not worth the £10 now that the shower facilities have been taken away. It was our favourite spot but sadly wont be back. No mention of the withdrawal of the facilities prior to paying either!

  • 1/5

£10 a night! Over rated, over priced. Definitely not worth it when there are 2 other places to park in the town, next to toilets.

  • 1/5

No Water, No Showers. Pay 30p to access toilets via card. there IS a black waste disposable. So paying £10 to park overnight..

  • 5/5

Nice and quiet right at the beach!

  • 4/5

4G ok.

  • 4/5

Nice views across the Firth of Clyde. 10 spaces near the harbour and a few more at the side of the leisure centre. £10 for 24hrs 9am - 9am.

  • 4/5

stayed for 1 night. Be sure to look out for the door code when paying your £10 as it's really small and easy to miss and once you've passed that page you can't go back! Toilets, showers, washing & drying machines via unmarked black door on the right of public toilets. It Sign saying "not public toilets" and has a ramp way if this helps. Once inside the shower block is clean, warm and roomy.

  • 4/5

Schöne Aussicht Wasser beim Hafengebäude. Wasserhahn an der Wand zum Hafen hin. WCs vorhanden.

  • 3/5

Didn't stay the night, just went to use tap which wasn't working. Get water from cemetery just out of town behind Byne Hill Caravan Park, check opening times

  • 4/5

£10 per per night. Pay by website or app. with app you get a code, this gives you access to a toilet and shower area. disabled, ladies and gents. washing machine etc available for £1 per go. Lovely and clean. Lots of recyclable bins. All fully heated.

  • 1/5

Couldn’t find any facilities, no waste emptying and no water!! Big sign asking for £10 for overnight parking. Given there were no services and free parking down the road we moved on!! Shouldn’t be advertised as an Aire if that’s not the case!!!!

  • 1/5

£10/night. Credit card required to use toilets. Another example of cooncil trying blue sky thinking with their heads in the clouds. This used to be a great spot until the cooncil decided to use it as another commercial venture.

  • 5/5

Stayed here last Saturday night, tried 5 times to pay for overnight parking but couldn't as the automated text wouldn't accept the parking code. Large parking spaces, lovely seafront area. Quiet night.

  • 5/5

lots of trucks overnight not much noise.(winter) so may change in summer.large bays for mohos marked out at entrance and up in right hand corner.blowing a gale on our visit.nice sandy beach.one of the best Indian meals we've had a short walk away

  • 4/5

Stayed there last night having seen it on the site. Brilliant spot nice and quiet. We walked along the front. Town pretty quiet but decent would use it again

  • 5/5

Excellent site, free out of season. Pitches are flattish but if you want a flatter area look to road down the side of the toilets, they're not available for campervans in the season but available otherwise. Toilets and all facilities closed at this time.

  • 4/5

Fantastic views of Ailsa Craig. Close to shops and great chippy. we stayed on a very wet, windy night and loved it

  • 3/5

Great for a quick stop. Town is one of the most rundown places in county. Even occupied shops were closed. HGVs a plenty. Converted bus with 6 occupants running engine to keep warm. We moved on as not sure if you can park in Winter. no tap. no toilet disposal. I can see some merit in the summer where you can go on beach but seems to be free now. Went to campsite instead.

  • 4/5

Lovely spot with stunning sunsets looking out to the Ailsa Craig. Lovely chippy few mins walk, swimming pool adjacent to car park. Plenty of bins. Lorry drivers use this area too and tend to leave around 6am. Contactless payment is 30p for clean toilets.

  • 4/5

Agree with other reviewer funfair & their vans took up the majority of spaces & the generator was noisy but I soon got used to it! Got the last space arriving at 5.30pm. Good site otherwise, easy to RinGo parking fee. Right next to beach & playpark. Felt safe but a few truckers arrived overnight which put me off walking to loo block in the dark by myself! Rude awakening at 6am when they left!

  • 2/5

Funfair on site ready for coming weekend, so generator running constantly. Half the Motorhome spaces being taken up by cars.

  • 5/5

Excellent stop for the night £5.35 6pm to 9am Showers and toilets motorhome specific parking

  • 5/5

A wonderful beachside carpark, loads of spaces with excellent facilities. shower, loo and laundry! pay online via Ringo app, 4G network coverage. a little busy in the day with day trippers, but worth it!

  • 5/5

Great spot by the beach, quite a few large spots for campers in the carpark, some people thought it was ok to park over the lines between us campers but luckily they didn't stay the night. toilets nearby 30p to use. quiet night, even got to have a little lay in it was so peaceful. bins available too

  • 5/5

Fabulous spot, stunning views and great value. Parking, bins, water, chemical toilet disposal and access to toilets and hot showers. Pay via parking app RingGo £5.35. Shower block access code in app. Get there before 7pm or you’ll struggle for a space. 1 night only but no need to vacate immediately at 9am following day. Right next to beach, promenade and play park. Great for dogs. Whilst in Girvan, don’t miss “Auld Acquaintance” - a gem of a restaurant on Dalrymple St: dog friendly and serving delicious meals all day.

  • 5/5

Great overnight parking spot with sea-view. Access to hot showers and toilet facilities using a code to open door which is provided when booking overnight parking via Ringo . No need to use public toilets which charge 30p. There is also a washing machine and dryer provided costing £2 and £1 respectively. Well done to Girvan council.

  • 5/5

Cycling, walking, people, views, shops, sea and sun. Lovely. Toilets/shower with code from Ringo. £5.15 6pm-9am.

  • 5/5

Lovely stopover. Beach, town, cycling, walking. £5.15 via Ringo app 6pm-9am includes a code for shower/loo rooms. Lovely people in Girvan.

  • 5/5

Relatively flat parking area with great views of Isle of Arran and Aisla Craig. Was busy with both campers and HGV but despite this was quiet overnight. Toilet nearby require 30p to use. Would stay again.

  • 5/5

As from June 2021 south ayrshire Council are charging £5 per nite for over night parking with use of facilities. if you are not in a marked bay . you can't park overnight.

  • 5/5

Great parking spot looking out to Ailsa Craig. Busy though

  • 5/5

Just back from our first trip away in our newly converted berlingo. Girvan Harbour is just brilliant with lovely views clean 24hr toilets hot water and lots of other friendly motorhomers(if that's a word lol) would recommend to anyone roaming round ayrshire

  • 5/5

15/07/2020 Stayed 2 nights here, close to pubs, high street and a supermarket. lovely little harbour to the side. Good for dog owners and right on the beach. Toilets 30p. will be stopping here again.

  • 5/5

Exposed to the elements but brilliant! right behind the swimming pool facing the ocean. public toilets if needed 30p! Will go again. ?

  • 5/5

No issues here, big wide area with seafront view. kebab shop and Asda within walking distance.

  • 4/5

Nice spot with great view. Shops near by and swimming pool

  • 5/5

Lovely, easy to use. Toilets 30p (But free at the other side of the bay) directly next to harbour and town, AND swimming pool.

  • 5/5

  • 5/5

Great free camping spot. Live music nearby on summer Sundays. On Sundays arrive before noon or after 6pm to be sure of a space. Lovely views to Ailsa Craig and the Island of Arran. Beach adjacent to parking. 30p to use clean toilets. Good fish and chips and other cafes, pubs, and restaurants in the town.

  • 4/5

Très bel emplacement face à la mer. Plat. Tranquille.

  • 5/5

Posto stupendo,da fermarsi qualche giorno, veramente bello ?. E presente grande supermercato.

  • 3/5

  • 5/5

Huge parking area at the harbour looking directly out to sea with the beach immediately below. Very close to cafes, pubs, shops etc. Even on a busy bank holiday weekend during the Girvan folk festival, with dozens of motorhomes there, it was quiet at night with no hassle.

  • 5/5

Toilette publique.
