Great spot but currently out of use. A temporary structure is there as part of a movie set. If you are using the other spots on this road, please be aware that the production company will block the road with their vehicles and equipment as and when they feel like it. Very nice people but they cause chaos. This road is not suitable for motorhomes.

Quiet road with great views over Derwentwater. Only heard about 5 cars go past in total overnight.

Perfect and so peaceful this is the best place I have stayed!! The view is amazing and it’s so peaceful altho a couple of the local sheep gave us a wake up call in the morning!! Would definitely stay here again 10/10

Great spot! The road is quiet and only a few cars passed us on the Saturday morning. The space is on a little slant so I would recommend having a ramp to level the van. we stayed in our car because we haven't quite got to buying a van yet.
loandbehold01/06/2022Spent two peaceful nights here. Ideal for walking to Catbells and around Derwent Water. Stunning views of the lake and well sheltered by mountains on the other side. Barely any cars passing at night but you might get woken by the sheep baaing in the morning. No signs prohibiting overnight parking and not an official passing place either.

Lay-by with no signs for no overnight parking, under Catbells and lovely view to wake up to overlooking Derwentwater. Road was fairly quiet through the night with only one or two cars passing.
