Left after five minutes… probably depends when you go as to what your experience is, but we arrived on a Friday evening which I wouldn’t recommend, each to their own and not judging, but within minutes of arriving two men got out of their cars one after the other and approached our van to look in so didn’t want to stay.
A large lay-by with some screening from the road and some level-ish areas. A lot of traffic noise, but earplugs dealt with that. I didn’t notice any of the people using the lay-by for nefarious purposes that some comments mention.
considered using this as a stopover until a local man approached me to say this lay-by has a ‘function of its own that doesn’t appeal to the likes of solo females’ needless to say we moved on swiftly!
Despite some weird reviews, this place is great, well shaded in the summer for us who lack solar panels and wanna keep cool!
It’s a gay cruising ground people
Good place to park, plenty of space, Nice and shaded area but the road nearby is busy and we found it difficult to sleep.
Set just off the road, no good if you are a light sleeper as road is used all night.
An ok lay-by, a bit of a slope. Road was quiet at night so good sleep.
A large layby slightly set back from a busy arterial road with a burger van on site, open in the mornings. Early noise from cattle trucks turning off the road into the lane of the nearby slaughterhouse. OK for one night though but little else to offer.
next to road but partitioned by trees., although approached by strange men I think checking out my van. defo put me on guard. asked for a light once they noticed I was in.
Perfectly adequate for a night - a bit dark and shaded at the front end but it lightens up at the top end - and there is quite a lot of road noise.
Brilliant place to park! Loads of space and privacy from the road. Traffic noise tends to settle later on and there’s also a port-a-loo there at the moment.
