Great stop for night - really quiet - and the start of a 5k hike. The couple of nearby park for nights just above this now not possible as no vehicles due to the deforestation going on

Acetracker30/12/2025Great spot. Single track road condition is very poor in places / pot holes but if driven slower then passable. Super quiet and beautiful in the morning (arrived in the dark)

Lovely quiet spot with a nice half hour walk around the nature reserve. Comments on potholes are correct however this is a small country road so as expected. Not a lot of 4g signal on 3.

on s'est trompé on s'est installé à l'entrée du chemin forestier 10m avant mais c'était tout aussi bien les 2 sont bien, tranquille, accessible, 4g correct, une petite route avec des nids de poule pour y arriver, l'Écosse quoi. laissé propre en partant.

Endroit tranquille en pleine nature non loin de l’autoroute sans l’entendre. Attention à l’accès en voie unique avec de nombreux nids de poules. En Van c’était bien.

Would have been a 5 stars if not for the road which had potholes, but would not be enough to deter me from using again. If the space is full, there is another on the right just before! Would recommend.

Excellent stop over close to A74. Quiet no traffic passed while we were there. Two dog walkers arrived in morning. Along narrow potholed road two and a half miles from Beattock. Would stay again.

A very peaceful nights sleep and a convenient stopover. Didn’t see or hear another vehicle all night.

Single road up to spot is full of pot holes, but aslong as you are careful no problem at all. Really is worth it, the spot is so quiet and peaceful, beautiful sunset. No facilities.

Beautiful spot, with great countryside views, no traffic during the night and very little during day. Ideal for a stop when driving along the M74. If one is familiar with narrow single track roads with some holes then access is no problem

Great overnight park up not too far from motorway. Very quiet. Typical Scottish rural single track road access with passing places. Easy access if you are familiar with these. If not go slow. Houses in the distance but not close enough to to disturb them.

Like said it is bumpy road to get here but nothing to major, and we’ll worth it! I was here by myself and no traffic until the morning and it’s 1 or 2 cars an hour. Pretty much level and so quite!

Well worth driving another mile up the road to the next spot but this one is perfectly adequate. Good walk to the nature reserve on the other side of the road
BobLove26/04/2022Giving this 3 stars as despite this being a lovely spot, the road up there is full of pot holes which makes it quite difficult to get to. We've got a VW Crafter SWB and it was a hassle going down the road for 15 mins, especially as it was dark, so be aware if using this spot. Having said that, it was lovely to wake up the beautiful countryside around us!
