(KW1 5TJ) - March Road

Final stretch of road is single track and a bit pot holey. Take care going past stables, worth it for the amazing views and lovely costal walks in either direction. The cliff edge is very, very steep, just something to consider if travelling with young children. Lovely stop.

By 8pm there were 5 motorhomes, 6 campers (including mine) and 2 cars. It is an excellent place to stay, arrive early-ish to get a good spot.

A great spot for the night — the road is a bit rocky but easily accessible in first gear, even with a large motorhome. There are several spots in the parking lot (seven motorhomes were there when we spent the night). A bit crowded in July but still nice. The castle is accessible with a 5-minute walk on a dirt path, although you can’t enter the premises because of rocks falling. Totally recommend!

Un sport magnifique accessible facilement en prenant son temps sur la route non goudronnée. De nombreuses places avec une vue impressionnante sur le château la mer et les oiseaux ! Très calme mais venteux dans la soirée.

This is a stop, whether spending the night or no, it is a must. No facilities, but exceptional views. Had 3 other van in with us, but could accommodate at least 8. Road is a bit pot holy but well worth the drive.

A great spot to camp for the night, I’m not sure why some others had an unpleasant experience, but we felt very safe. The potholes on the road in were sizable, but not impossible to drive on if you go slow. The spot is quite windy, and people do you walk past, but you have a great view of the Castle of Old Wick which is beautiful to wake up to.

Would not recommend staying here overnight did not feel safe. Road to the spot in a bad way & long to get out. There are reviews of campervans being attacked so we left. Would just avoid wick we are not wanted here.

Wahrscheinlich wegen des schlechten Wetters kaum abendliche Besucher, jedoch alle PP mit Wohnmobilen voll. Sehr schön, sehr ruhig. Guter und angenehmer Spazierweg nach Wick. Achtung Zufahrt: Nicht den braunen Castle Wegweisern folgen, Koordinaten nutzen!

Vue extraordinaire, mais on ne s’y sentait pas les bienvenus. Bien que seuls dans ce cul-de-sac, les passages étaient fréquents. On pensait à des jeunes venus se poser, mais les allées et venues ont continué. Dès 23 h, ils klaxonnaient pour nous faire partir. Ils ont fini par y parvenir : on a dû trouver un autre endroit après minuit.

Beautiful spot overlooking the sea & castle ruin. Definitely windy but quite sheltered by the mound.

Prachtig uitzicht!! Waait er wel maar dat is best ok. Weg ernaar toe is eentje vol gaten maar zeker de moeite waard. We stonden daar met 6 campers en er was nog plaats.

Great view, extreme winds we've got, the road to here is one lane with LOTS of potholes, great view in the morning. There's space for around 4 RVs on the gravel, can also park on the grass

really nice place. there is a bin if you walk a little way north on one of the trails. can get windy and very steep drop off to the sea. good EE signal and loads of space to park. road a bit pot holy but it’s ok in 1st gear.

Pasamos una noche tranquila, tuvimos la suerte de ver auroras boreales. Hermosa caminata y vistas. Super recomendable.

Incroyable! Quasiment plat, en haut de la falaise, des vues magnifiques! Si vous n'aimez pas le vent, éviter le lieu par mauvais temps, vous ne dormirez pas. Garez-vous dos ou face à la mer, pas de profil (gros courants d'air).

Mooie plek om te staan prachtig uitzicht over zee. Mooie kliffen en oud kasteel. Het was er wel erg winderig, je kan er met meerdere campers staan.

Lovely quiet site with fantastic views from the cliff top. Easy to access from the main road, and could comfortably fit up to seven units. There are five here tonight and we’re quite are quite spread out. There are footpaths along the cliff from the site too.

Wirklich sehr schöner und mit den Klippen auch beeindruckender Ort. Old Castle derzeit (Juli 2025) leider gesperrt. Ja, mit Hunden oder kleineren Kindern würde ich Abstand nehmen von diesem Platz.

Très bel endroit, je suis resté une nuit, très calme. L'endroit est facile d'accès bien qu'une partie de la route soit un chemin en gravier. Attention avec les jeunes enfants l'endroit est au bord des falaises. 4/5 camping car peuvent facilement se poser.

Magnifique spot mais envahi de camping cars. Il est probable que ce spot devienne interdit prochainement.. Très calme cependant et super départ de balades.

Bon spot avec jolie vue ! En revanche on est pas seuls au monde… petite ballade possible pour voir les falaises ! Des lapins mais de pistes : ouf ! Un Lidl pas loin, mais Wick pas terrible.

Lovely stop just up a dirt road. Lidl, b&m, Superdrug on the main road. Brilliant views all around especially of Old Wick. We ended up spending the night and then returning the night after too. Fair few vans. Around 6 the first night and 9/10 the second. Just make sure to leave space for the locals walking their dogs.

Prachtige plek om te overnachten met uitzicht op de zee. In het begin veel wind, maar later ging de wind liggen en was het heerlijk rustig. Wij stonden er met 5 andere campers. Was erg rustig en stil. Een absolute aanrader!

Endroit exceptionnel mais malheureusement victime de son succès. En effet, nous étions 9 au total la nuit passée. Les gens se tassaient les uns sur les autres, dommage. Je pense qu'à l'avenir cet endroit sera interdit ou payant.

Turn off the main road, down a dirt track for about 400m just keep following it and you pass a number of properties, there are 2 decent hard standing bays which could fit 4-5 vans/campers. Few people turned up in cars turned up went for a walk then left. The views are absolutely stunning, it is windy so consider which direction to park if you have a pop top. Very quiet and great walks, also lovely and clean

Magnifique Endroit et très calme. Chemin caillouteux mais ça passe tranquille. On est juste à côté des ruines du château de Wick, il en reste une demi tour. Très belles falaises noires.

Spot magnifique, seuls au monde avec chevaux comme voisins autour des ruines du chateau et des falaises. Coucher et lever du soleil exaltants!

Was für ein toller Platz direkt beim Old Wick. Beeindruckend und toll zugleich. Wir hatten das Glück auch einen Seehund zu sehen. Zufahrt ohne Probleme mit Wohni und Kasten möglich. Super!!!

Nuit tranquille et jolie vue. Spot très prisé, nous étions 12 van/camping car ce soir là. Nous n’avons pas eu de vent mais peut être sujet au vent. Belle randonnée des deux côtés.

Beautiful spot! Room for a good few vans there! We had good signal and spent a lovely quiet night there. It gets very windy though!

Schöner Platz für mehrere Fahrzeuge. Wir hatten hier eine ruhige Nacht. Es kann windig sein. Man sollte immer noch etwas Platz für die Locals lassen, die hier mit ihren Hunden Gassi gehen. Ein Stern Abzug, weil der Platz von umliegenden Wohnhäusern einsehbar ist. Bitte nehmt euren Müll wieder mit, sonst wird der Platz bald verboten sein.

Only people in spot. Level spacious parking spot. Beautiful spot to see the sun rise. Open to elements - was only too cold in the wind to stay outside. Stunning scenery but be careful when walking around the cliffs beyond Old Wick Castle. Exhilarating cliff top views. Lots of dog walkers passing by before 8pm and some in the morning.

Great park up facing the sea room for 5-6 big vans we were in a 7 meter motor home

per arrivarci strada un po' dissestata ma la vista è senza prezzo. consiglio assolutamente di svegliarsi presto per ammirare l'alba sul mare e con vista scogliere e castello. a marzo eravamo soli... esperienza unica

Great place to stay , next to wick castle and view of sea.

A nice quiet spot to park up. Check weather forecast as we were caught up in a winter storm with 60mph wind and torrential rain. Not much sleep that night. views are amazing...when you can see them. extreme camping lol.

Great overnight spot but very exposed to the wind and zero services. Road to get there is full of potholes but no problem if you take it slow. We were the only van there in December and the views were incredible. Retail park including b&m / lidl extra 5 mins down the road (public toilets).

Livin right on the edge! Such a cool place to stay next to castle and cliffs. Very windy night. No one else parked. Go slow by houses and horses walking by. Try not get here at night- very dark and gravely and some cliffside can’t see. No services but signal great. No trash cans either. Great walk area. Tesco and Lidl not far away by car! Just needs a toilet.

Il parcheggio è circondato da greggi di pecore, cavalli e da tane di leprotti. La vista direttamente sul castello è da togliere il fiato, soprattutto all'alba. Sembrava di essersi svegliati in una fiaba. Ottimo posto!

Level car park, amazing views! As other comments say be careful if you arrive at night as the ‘edge’ is not far from where the gravel area ends. Quiet & space for multiple vehicles. No services but 4G

Great spot with views. Good 4G and tv reception, quiet at night, bit of a rough road in, gravel and potholes but shouldn’t be a problem for any size MH.

noche tranquila, los ultimos 300 m del camino están llenos de baches, pero sin problema para nuestra autocaravana de 7 metros

Prachtige plek! Rustig, geen verkeer, want eindpunt. Vlakbij voormalig buitenbad en grot (niet kunnen komen want te glad) en half uurtje lopen naar het stadje, mooie wandelingen vanaf hier. Nul faciliteiten. prullenbak op 10 minuten lopen.

Ein wirklich wunderbarer Fleck, grandiose Aussicht, klasse Sonnenaufgang. Ich habe mich sehr sicher gefühlt, zumal einige hier übernachtet haben. Bitte haltet den Platz sauber! Es gibt keine Mülltonnen, also nehmt ihn bitte bitte mit und entsorgt ihn an der nächsten. Am Abend einige einheimische Gassigänger und Jogger. Die älteren haben einige auf das Müllproblem angesprochen. Ansonsten super liebe Menschen.

Schitterende plek als je het laatste stuk aan durft. Veel gaten en kuilen in de weg maar het is echt de moeite waard zorg wel dat je alles leeg en vol heb als je hier wilt staan want er is helemaal niks. Ons Kampertje

Slightly exposed, take care of the steep cliffs especially if arriving in dark. Potholes on road to the parking area (take care) fabulous location great views - full phone signal 4G EE

Stayed here for the night, it's a beautiful spot with beautiful views and good little walks around. I wasn't disturbed at all. I even had a signal and 4G on EE.

Schöne Aussicht. Wir waren die einzigen Camper und hatten eine ruhige Nacht. Der Platz ist kostenlos.

Beautiful place to park. Faced the castle. It was very windy day so didn’t do much.

Super schöne Aussicht. Platz für einige Wohnmobile, die letzten paar Hundert Meter sind nicht asphaltiert und mit vielen Löchern, also langsam fahren! In ca. 30-45 Minuten ist man an der Küste entlang in Wick, wo sogar am Sonntag einige Restaurants/ Take-Aways noch offen hatten.

Brilliant place to stay overnight! Lovely sunset. Quiet and no wind when we stayed, so was perfect. 10 vehicles managed to stay last night, from cars to motorhomes with plenty of space. We arrived at 4pm and were the first, but by 8pm was nearly full. Definitely recommend!

Really good park up but due to being on a cliff edge it's not suitable for a windy night, access road isn't great.

abbiamo dormito una notte qui! bellissimo posto anche se un po' ventoso. da qui partono le escursioni sia a destra che a sinistra che percorrono tutta la costa con una maestosa scogliera. notte tranquilla

Ein großartiger Ort. Wir haben eine wunderschöne Mittagspause hier verbracht. Leider kamen nach kurzer Zeit 4 zusammen fahrende Wohnmobile, die eine Wagenburg gebildet haben und sich verhalten haben, als würde der Platz ihnen gehören. So kommt die ganze Camperszene in Verruf und Verbotsschilder werden aufgestellt.

One of our favourite spots on the nc500. Beautiful views of the sea. Quiet, slept well. Enough room for 6 campers max. A few had to turn around as they arrived too late. Would recommend arriving before/around 5 to secure a spot. It’s a free spot and a friendly local came to have a chat with us, no issues whatsoever

Prachtige plek met uitzicht op de Noordzee en kliffen je staat op verharde ondergrond hou het netjes dan kunnen we nog heel lang genieten van deze plek.

Quelle magnifique vue du camping-car face à la mer. Nous étions une dizaine bien posés pour la nuit. Une balade en contre-bas vous guidera vers de beaux rochers en plate-formes

Schöner sauberer Platz mit toller Aussicht. Wirklich sehr ruhig und sicher. Dieser Platz ist kostenlos, es gibt auch keine Hinweisschilder. Bitte haltet ihn weiterhin so sauber, dass er uns lange erhalten bleibt! Die Klippen sind wirklich sehenswert mit viel Geschichte! Leider ist die Burg gegenüber gesperrt

Wow one of our favourite places yet! Amazing views, nice walks. Wasn’t too windy the night we were there either! We loved it. No facilities nearby. Great place to stop for the night. No signs or anything about £10 a night- it’s free.

Very beautiful spot with plenty of room and flat. It’s accessible by a dirt road so take care going down. Use the access road closest to the far and go through the metal gates towards the sea and then turn right. There are no facilities but there is an old castle ruins and caves and a sea pool or lido

Exceptional! You can park just on the cliff and the views... killing! You can take a walk around the cliffs and it is good to know the history of the castle as well. We haven't seen any sign to pay 10£.

Emplacement sauvage du bout d’une route non goudronnée. À la fin du chemin un panneau avec un QR code pour payer (10 £) via PayPal ou en cash dans une boîte. Site fantastique et sauvage. Un sentier de randonnée passe à côté. Vieux château à côté. Attention aux enfants il y a de hautes falaises. Dommage des papiers sales un peu partout.

We stoped here for lunch, it was very quiet with fantastic views, kids had a explore and a good run around before heading off.

Sehr toller Stellplatz mit wahnsinns aussicht. Es kostet £10.50 für eine Nacht, etwas teuer für nur Parken, aber dafür meinten die Betreiber dass sie den Parkplatz weiter ausbauen wollen von dem Geld. Man kann Cash oder Paypal bezahlen. Die Schilder findet man direkt am Anfang des Parkplatzes (leicht zu übersehen). Bei uns kamen die Betreiber zum kontrollieren ob man gezahlt hat.

Nice view of the sea however £10 seems quite a lot considering they don’t provide any services, nor do they keep the weeds down. The parking area feels a bit uninviting due to storage of large piles of gravel. They’re aren’t many parking options in this area though, so it’s fine for a night.

It's a magical place to give you a lot of emotions and impressions

Lovely spot on the cliff top near ruins of a castle. It cost us £10 for 1 night. It was kind of levelled the ground and put hardcore down. However for £10 I would say it's not worth it. You are on a public walk way so people, dogs going back and forth. For £10 per night a rubbish bin on site would have been good. Just a few meters away there is free parking we found out too late for our stay.

Hidden off the main road. Down a bumpy track, then private road. If you go slow it is not a problem. Lovely views, next to castle ruins. No facilities, but quiet tranquil spot on the cliffs. Near Wick. £10 a night.

This is a great spot! Out of the way, very peaceful, lots of walks straight from the location all along the cliffs. Wind is currently 20/25mph and perfectly fine but it’s very open so probably not a great nights sleep if there are super strong winds. No facilities but Wick is right now the road.

Solid level ground suitable for a number of vehicles. Road on way in and has pot holes and high speed bumps but no problem if taken slowly. No facilities. Amazing views and spectacular sunrises. Coastal walks from site. Very exposed so consider avoiding if strong winds forecast. Best of all stop-overs we looked at in the area.

Eher ein Trecker Symbol als ein Baum, aber trotzdem gut. 10,50 Pfund bei Ankunft auf Vertrauensbasis bezahlen. Schöne Aussicht und auf jeden Fall die kurze Wanderung zu entlang der Klippen machen. Lohnt sich. Keinerlei Ausstattung. Windanfällig. Wird tagsüber von Wanderern frequentiert und als normaler Parkplatz genutzt.

Schöne Aussicht auf die Klippen. Sehr ruhig. Am Eingang zum Platz gibt es die Aufforderung 10£ für die Nacht zu bezahlen. Man kann diese Bar in einer Ehrlichkeitsbox legen oder per Pay PAL (QR Code) zahlen. Es kam keiner zum kontrollieren, aber ich finde es anständig zu bezahlen, wenn man auf einem privaten Grundstück mit dieser Aussicht die Möglichkeit hat zu übernachten.

Sehr netter ruhiger Platz ohne Service. Das alte Castle von Wick wird beim Sonnenuntergang schön angestrahlt. Für autarke Fahrzeuge empfohlen, auch wenn der Weg holprig ist.

Waanzinnige plek bovenop de kliffen. Het waaide en regende terwijl wij in onze bus heerlijk lagen te chillen. Bijzondere ervaring van knusheid. Heel schoon en rustig en fijn voor korte wandelingen.

Beautiful silent amazing coast

Interesting route to get there full of pot holes and speed bumps. Once we got there the hard standing was taken by large 3 vans so we ended up on a dirt area which looked to be used for parking regularly. In total there were 5 of us so a busy spot. Nice views to wake up to in the morning though.

Achtung Schlaglöcher. Direkt neben dem Parkplatz ist ein kleiner Wall, der uns super vor dem starken Wind geschützt hat. Bitte sauber hinterlassen, es war schon viel Klopapier herumgelegen...

Utterly beautiful, a couple of minutes walk from the old Wick castle, and woke up to the most amazing sunrise. Road to get there was in a poor state, but perfectly passable even in a big motorhome if you take it slow.

Fantastic spot but this land is private land. The owner is lovely but be respectful of his land. No speeding no soiling and treat the place like your own home!!
