Beautiful location and pretty popular which means security in numbers. About 10 vehicles when we stayed. The guy who collects money is really nice. No services. Lovely walk just over the road into the hills above Durness and another beyond the ferry point around the coastline. The coastal walk is stunning and the dog and I had a curious seal watching for some of the way.
Es war wunderschön. Toller Ausblick und in der Nacht total ruhig. Der Besitzer kommt zum kassieren, wohnt gegenüber auf der Farm Danke!!!
A lovely place to spend the night, no amenities but beautiful sunsets and really quiet at night although it can get very windy. £15 for a night well worth it I think.

15 quid for nothing. It even look like public Space but somehow someone is making banks on nothing. If a Brit can have a look at reporting this to autorities ? strange that there a public and official billboards about the place (and even a sign post of the NC500) and then a handmade shitty sign asking for 15 pounds.

L’endroit est bien, au calme, jolie vue, peu de passage la nuit. En revanche compliqué de comprendre pourquoi on doit payer 15£ pour aucun service. D’autant plus que le collecteur passe à 22:00, nous étions déjà au lit et n’est pas très agréable.
Toller Ausblick… aber unsympathische abzocke. Es gibt noch nicht einmal eine Mülltonne. Um keinen Ärger zu bekommen, haben wir gezahlt. Die anderen Camper die nach seiner Runde kamen, hatten Glück. Ich denke ab 22 Uhr sollte man Glück haben.
Yes, one of the shepherds came round with a couple of Collies and a book of raffle tickets trying to collect £15. Great view but do you really want to support rip-off merchants with no moral backbone charging for nothing. You don’t even get to stroke the Collie!

Stayed here last year no problems and now £15 with no services?! A donation request of £5 or more would be acceptable and glad to help the community but this is Dick Turpin pesh.

Haben hier nur über Tag gestanden für die Cape Wrath Tour. Übernachtung wäre aber auch für 15 Pfund möglich gewesen. Zum nur parken super!

Tolle Aussicht und relativ gerader Parkplatz. Gegen 19 Uhr kam ein Herr und hat 15 £ für die Nacht kassiert. Ohne Quittung. Dafür, das hier nur eine Sitzgelegenheit aus Holz steht, kein Mülleimer oder sonstiger Service, zu teuer.

Here now and it looks like the price has been removed from the sign, so it appears free to park. Amazing views across the Loch. One other camper van here.
Parkplatz mit schöner Aussicht auf den See. Das Schild mit £15 pro Nacht haben wir ebenfalls gesehen und fanden es zu teuer, da hier keinerlei Service vorhanden ist. Jedoch waren wir zu müde um weiter zu suchen. Wir blieben die Nacht. Es kam keiner um das Geld zu kassieren. Wir fuhren am nächsten morgen weiter. Der Parkplatz liegt an der Hauptstraße, Verkehrslärm ok. Schafe direkt nebenan.

Vue magnifique ! Table de pique-nique juste à côté. La nuit est payante (15£). Un monsieur vient collecter l’argent dans la soirée (21h30 pour nous). Pensez à avoir du liquide sinon vous ne pouvez pas rester.

Parkeerplaats met kuilen en tussen de schapen. er staat aangegeven dat overnachten is toegestaan. nergens kosten weergeven. alleen iets over een visvergunning voor 15£. by the entry a sign: overnightstay ok. no cost. another sign saying £15 fishing permit. and other signs filled with info about the viewpoint
Great little spot. No one came and asked for money, don't know whether it was just locals last year trying their luck. very quiet, wasn't a windy night. Not much privacy so would advise staying there if you have your own facilities, there is a toilet less than 2 miles down the road next to a spar (closed on Sundays)

Private land owned by one of the local sheep stock clubs as is most of the land running alongside the Kyle. The parking area is now £15 for an overnight stay which should hopefully deter some of the irresponsible campers that have frequented the spot this summer. A beautiful location with stunning views.
Visit here for sunset as it really is quite beautiful and then move just down the road at the ferry car park which also has great views for the morning. Great proximity to both Smoo Caves and Cape Wrath.
What an incredible view, and lovely sea breeze which kept the midgies away! Loved it, however, not happy about the demand for payment at gone 10pm. Two lads turned up on a quits bike and said we had to pay to stay the night. The sign is clear and says £15 for a day fishing permit, it doesn’t say you need to pay for a ‘pitch’ for a van / camper etc. But the view was epic

Great views and good for wild camping gets busy though so best to be here for around 5pm to get a space
Great spot overlooking the Kyle of Durness. A highland council official came round and welcomed everyone, gave advice and was happy to have everyone stay overnight. Get there early (5/6pm) as it can get busy.
Large mostly flat surface. Amazing views, really windy when we were there. So worth it though.
Amazing place, great views and perfect sunset. Would return here. Toilets not far away in Durness if needed.
