I liked the site. Stayed here to do some walking as I prefer to avoid driving and parking in the Lakes. Really quiet, didn’t feel full. Lovely clean shower and toilet block. Has a small shop that sells some essentials. Five minutes to a pub that is well priced and sells good. Ten minutes to another pub that does the same. No phone reception or wifi but you do get the latter at the pubs.
Great location with stunning views. I was given a pitch very close to the trees that is the home of a rookery. Very, very noisy till after sunset and again from sunrise. No mobile signal is available at all and no WiFi available. As I own a company this wasn’t ideal. So another reason to leave as I can't afford to be off grid, sadly. The toilet block and showers were really good.
Excellent campsite in a beautiful location. Lots of walks and bike rides direct from the site. Facilities excellent but no mobile phone signal. Local pub ok but has good WiFi. Take care if your pitch is under trees as in spring they shed a lot of leaves etc as well as sticky sap that will get in your pop top roof
Sehr schöner Platz in toller Landschaft. Ideal für Wanderungen. Sehr gute Sanitäranlagen. Wir zahlten für 2 Nächte ohne Strom 52 £ für unseren Camper Van. Würde den Platz empfehlen.
Beautiful site with good facilities, the warm shower block is especially nice. Perfect start for lots of walks and a couple of pubs nearby. Minimum stay if 2 nights if booking on website, but we popped in and managed to book for one night.
I booked and you then get a code to open the barrier as reception closes at 5pm I think. very friendly. The best shower toilet block I think I have been to but it was a quiet time of year. washing up room has a great wall map perfect for planning your walks!! Great pub 5 mins walk away with WiFi. No WiFi or signal on site. Beautiful area and perfect for walks. Road in narrow but OK with care
Erg mooi gelegen, wandelingen vertrekken vanaf de camping en kaarten te koop aan de receptie. Efficiënt geregeld: heb je gereserveerd en kom je na sluitingstijd, dan hangt je briefje aan de deur. Sanitair is erg net en er zijn comfortabele warme douches. Wel erg druk tijdens schoolvakantie in UK. Reserveren is een must.
Nice campsite with clean toilets and showers. Paid £78 for two nights for a van and 2 people with EHU. Great location for walking.
Non ehu pitch £20/night for van & driver £7/ night per extra adult. No designated pitches for non-ehu, just anywhere that is hardstanding. Plenty of room in February. Very good modern toilets, showers & washing up facilities. Reception/shop is well stocked but limited opening hours. Excellent hiking, climbing and pubs.
Ein Ort zum runterkommen. Supergut das es kein Handyempfang und kein WiFi gab, sogar der SAT-Empfang mit Schüssel war nicht möglich da die Berge ringsherum vom Platzstandort zu hoch sind. Sanitäranlagen super sauber und neu mit Fußbodenheiszung in den Duschen. Also das mit dem max. 6 Meter Fahrzeuglänge passt. Auch eine Fahrzeugbreite von 2,35m wird ungeübte Fahrern Beulen im Fahrzeug verschaffen.
Another epic NT campsite. We've just completed 2 months travelling the whole of the UK and this is easily our favourite campsite. Loads of walks from your door step, two shower blocks both with drying rooms, laundry and multiple toilets and showers means no queues. No mobile signal / no wifi which is perfect. But a quick 10 min walk to one of the 3 pubs and you can get decent wifi and a pint.
Fantastic site for walking in the fells. Clean and modern facilities with very friendly staff. In May, not full during the week despite perfect weather, but fully booked for weekend, so book ahead. No requirement to be National Trust member. Only 4 stars since no wifi (even at office), recycling or drive over drain.
Bear in mind you need to preebook or if you turn up on site you need to be there before 5pm otherwise the barrier is closed. Also there is no mobile phone reception or internet to check for other places. Be prepared if you wanna camp there.
Super Übernachtungsmöglichkeit, freundliches Personal, saubere Anlagen! Im Abwaschraum gibt es eine Landkarte als Tapete mit Wanderrouten gleich ab Campingplatz! Allerdings kein Handyempfang. Zu empfehlen!
Fantastic site close to the old dungeon ghill and stickle barn pubs. Also a big walk up to stickle tarn.
