Fine for a night in transit, but I wouldn’t want to outstay my welcome, it’s a small car park.
spend a calm and quiet night here, can hear the sound of trains, but it's not too loud and doesn't affect my sleep. The village road to enter this place is relatively small, so it is recommended for campervans, I think not suitable for large RV.
Arrived at night so it was a bit tricky to drive alongside canal before getting to the entrance but wasn't too bad. good flat spot, there were several other campervans so felt secure. Several picnic tables were a nice addition.
Very nice little Spot, no traffic the only noise is from the trains but even that's not too bad and it's right next to the canal
Le coin pourrait être vraiment sympa s'il n'y avait pas les 2 carcasses de voitures et des déchets partout au sol. une des tables de pique-nique est endommagée. dommage. on fait une pause mais on ne reste pas.
Really nice little place to park up for a night. Very peaceful and a lovely canal walk
Lovely quiet car park 10 mins off M4. No views but right on the Canal.
Nice place to spend the night. Quiet and full of wildlife
Nice spot next to a canal quite apart from the trains every hour or so.
Beautiful little spot! Don't be misled at the swing bridge. It looks like the road just ends there and sat nav was asking me to go left onto the cycle track. The friendly man who lives on that corner assured me that there was indeed a little car park down the cycle track, just behind the trees. I'm so glad he was there as I'm now both in the most gorgeous spot plus I feel welcome by the locals:-)
As others have said a great little stopover felt very safe and in a nice spot. Down a single track road but take it easy and no problems. Would definitely use again
Delightful. Only two other campers there, one SUPs often. Lovely walk down the canal, lots of wildlife and occasional train. In the morning saw a family of swans. Had a bizarre interaction with two locals with dogs off their leads, asking me to take my “stool samples” with me. I told them I had a toilet in the van and they said height barriers will be going up. Let’s get most use out of it then!!
Stopped here for one night. Very peaceful rural setting right by a canal. Great for dog walking along the canal
exellent place in a remote parking next to some little garden with fruit trees and as well water Chanel great for SUP or kayak. the train is passing close to this site but over the night it was totally silent so it seems that they have a break at night, which provides a great sleep. it's enough room for a big motorhome with 7 m length.
Beautiful quiet space. There were another two vans when we got there, but didn’t hear a thing until the morning when dog walkers started to arrive; not a big deal. We will stop again!
We stopped on the way to Cornwall, arriving late and leaving early. There was one van here but we didn't see them. The roads were single track coming in and a little tricky in the dark but we were fine in a LWB van conversion. Brilliant stop over.
Beautiful place to spend the night. Certainly puddly/muddy after all the rain but offered a quiet night's sleep and beautiful walks. Locals seem tolerant of vans if parked respectfully.
What a lovely spot! I was the only one there on a rainy December night, quiet nights sleep apart from the raindrops from the tree above. Muddy but beautiful walk along the canal with the dog in the morning. No bin so please take rubbish with you. Would definitely use again if in the area :)
Really nice, cosy place. Saturday night, no concerns or disturbances. Of course, as you would expect at this time of year, the area was full of large puddles… as this is a ‘natural’ parking area. Great by the canal for a morning stroll.
Great little overnight stop. About 3 miles of single track road with passing places from the M5. A few cars with dog walkers and fishermen when we arrived but all left when it got dark. Please respect this stopover. Park sensible to allow locals access. Take litter away with you. We all need to treat these places with respect or we will lose them like so many others
Super quiet park up. We got here in the dark, and it wasn’t too difficult to find, Apple Maps takes you to the exact point of the parking. No one else around really while we were there.
lovely little spotlight next to the canal, small apple and pear orchard behind, bunkers all down the canal, beautiful walks with the dog, level carpark can fit a few vans and cars. please take all rubbish ect with you...lots of fisherman and dog walkers come after 6.30ish am.
Lovely quiet spot- bit difficult to find in the dark . Look for the little wood bridge over the canal, turn sharp left in front of the cottage on your left and the car park is about 5m on your left. Stopped one night. Very quiet except for the odd train. Bird song to keep you company. Beautiful canal for walking along
Great spot by the canal. Lovely and quiet with the occasional train but they didn’t disturb us. No litter and no one else there overnight. A few fishermen in the morning but plenty of space for everyone. The road to the car park is mainly single track with passing places but quite doable. The nearest pub is about a 30 min walk away along the canal.
Stunning stop over next to canal perfect for walks and fishing
We stayed here last Saturday night and were the only ones. It is a great location, as it’s immediately beside the canal and perfect to walk the dogs in the morning. The only downside was that there are train lines very close by. You could hear them running until midnight and from 8 am. We did do a mini litter pick before we left
This is the only car park on the Bridgwater and Taunton canal that doesn't get locked at 6pm or something, so if you want to walk the dogs in the evening it's the only hope. If you keep parking here they'll probably put a gate on this one too.
Lovely location tucked away just beside canal, however once another van left. We moved to where they were as was more hidden parking space. They came back and accused us of steeling as they lost something in the middle of the night. And though we took it as we parked where they were before leaving. Getting very angry and abusive. So we moved on before they came back.
Right next to tue canal. Kayaking entry point opposite side of the hedge. it seems kids and aduots are throwing a lot of litter about so PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE irf you stay here pick up qny litter you see and dispose of it. i dont think the litter is vanlifers but dont give people an excuse to complain and no overnight camping signs go up.
A really lovely spot, I'll be stopping by again ❤️
Ombragé et calme. Pause repas en bord de canal. 3 tables de picnic.
Wir haben hier direkt neben dem Kanal eine sehr ruhige Nacht verbracht. Morgens kamen Angler und Spazierer.
Just got here and were already in love fruit trees easy access to canal for kayak in morning and good size car park all to our self space for 2 big or 3 small
Quiet but quite clearly not on the weekend. Rubbish left strewn around, mostly beer bottles and cans. Good for a stop over on route North/South though.
