3rd of Jan and -2 degrees so it was cold. Road was extremely frozen so we had to turn around. Just to bear in mind if visiting during cold periods. Also ran into weird people on the way
Parking gratuit avec des vues fantastiques. bel endroit pour se promener.
Free parking with fantastic views.
Lovely area for walking. Narrow, cobbled road for the last half a mile
Kostenlose Parkplätze mit fantastischer Aussicht. schöne Gegend zum Wandern.

excellent spot overlooking the city lights
rocky road to arrive and a pretty expensive night for us as we got stuck. nice quiet night though. frequent with walkers
The view is amazing no matter what way you stand, and there was no disturbance during the night. It was busy when we came with walkers but when they all slowly left it was silent. I would definitely recommend staying here to anyone
A lovely spot. horrible cobble road, so take it easy and slow. it was busy when I got here, had to wait for a spot, but everyone cleared by 11pm and me and 1 other camper. The 1 night was topped off by being waken up by a dozen wild horses!
I'm surprised there are that many 5 stars. We went there on a Thursday evening around 8pm and we didn't stay. The cobbled road is ok-ish but I wouldn't recommend it. What made is leave is that there were dodgy people (drugs?). This place is quite remote and we didn't feel safe (which is usually not an issue). Ended up sleeping at the other reservoir on the main road. Noisier but safer.
You need to drive up a cobbled road, but the views are lovely and we had a great night sleep here. About five campers in total when we stayed, and there was plenty of space for everyone
Even though the weather was off didn't stop us going for a lovely walk and taking in the amazing views and chatting with fellow van pals. Great spot!
Great views, single track cobbled lane, not good access for large Motor Homes
Wow, the views here are incredible! Both at night and during the day. Dark enough for stargazing too. The cobbles are something else though - stow and slow. This is a popular site, especially on weekends. No bother though, just other people enjoying the views
this is a busy spot and i imagine will get busier during summer. lots of cars full of lads having a smoke. the cobbled rd aproach is not the best. great views and walks but i had to leave at 2am due to local man in his builders van paying ridiculously loud music. didnt feel comfortable getting out to ask him to turn it down. might re visit during the week but at a weekend its a no.
Great view, and a quiet night. 4 other vans here;plenty of room forus all plus families, courting couples and the aforementioned "youth"(who soon left). We approached up Woodhouse Lane, which is a mile long of mainly cobbles. Make sure everything is stowed! also lots of parked cars at the lower end so not suitable in a very wide vehicle.
The road up wasn't too bad, just take it steady. The reward is well worth it. 360 views and walks around one of the 4 reservoirs up here. Locals come up in the evening to walk and talk, no issues with noise or unsavoury behaviour. Mobile signals all good.
The other guys aren't lying about the road, but it looks like a lot of it has been resurfaced recently. The spot is one of the nicest I've seen round here. I'd definitely recommend for a day trip or picturesque wake-up.
Lovely spot with great views. Not a great access road
Very good views all round. Very level, 2 bar 4g on Vodafone, 3 bar on Smarty/Three. Quiet so far 8pm
Not a bad little spot. Great views over the city and a really pretty skyline with the lights at night. Beautiful scenery behind along the reservoir and we had a nice walk around it. Slept well but there was the odd car turning up through the night but they didn’t bother us. Absolute bone rattler of a road up to the car park though so be prepared
I stayed on a Sunday night and very quiet. A couple of cars pulled up during the evening but didn’t bother me. Lovely views and walk around the reservoir before breakfast. Very bumpy drive to get there so take it slow. Lots of pot holes in the car park but plenty of space to get a flat spot. No facilities.
Very nice place to walk around the reservoir, I came to have breakfast and to enjoy the views of this lovely parking lot, I had to wait 10 minutes for a car to come out, for me to be able to park comfortably with views of Manchester city center, but cars go in and out constantly.
Do not go, full of drug dealing
Beautiful park up... lots of asians smoking weed till late evening... access road is a very very bumpy ride.. make sure cupboards are closed... stunning views
Fantastic views. We went on a warm Saturday afternoon and it was very busy until around 9pm. Nobody was causing any trouble and by around 11pm we were on our own. There's a good walk up the hill opposite and in the morning we walked our dog around the reservoir which took around an hour and was very nice.
Great place to park up. Recommend you park just before the car parking area as gets very busy cars coming and going. No bother at all. Access is over cobbled rd. (bone shaker ). A good 200/300m. All quiet after 10pm.
Excellent views and walks sat overlooking Green booth (Norden) reservoir access bit bumpy but worth it. only stayed few hours not overnight
Stayed for one night, great for dog walking. Some cars pulled up and played some music but were gone by 11pm so wasn't too much of a disturbance. Lovely views and walks
Lovely park up, very bumpy on the way up with cobbled road so stay slow. youngsters at night but they was no harm lovely views! we stayed 1 night and wasn't disturbed.
Good stopover with amazing view of greater Manchester at night and lovely trails for walking around reservoir. Also popular with local youngsters having a good time - they were all gone by the time we went to bed.
