A lay-by about 3 miles out of Exeter on the left heading towards Crediton. It is separated from the road by a grassy area, so it is quiet enough for a good sleep. Often used by HGVs. There is a brewery near by.

layby that probably used to be the original carriageway before the road was upgraded so its a nice big lay-by. Nice and dark at nighttime due to lack of streetlights and surrounded by trees either side of road. pretty quiet considering your about 3 minutes drive from a city!
Very useful spot for me, loud due to road but not ridiculous and is possible to put foliage between the road and your parking space, at the north end of the drive Portaloo was open all night Sept 22, not sure if/when cafe opens as arrived late/left early not particularly attractive and you'd have to walk on the main road to get anywhere which is quite fast and dark, but good for overnight
Its good area for a quick rest. Cafe and toilet closed. May be sunday, may be for lockdown. Bins provided.
