Stopped here with two camper vans on our way to Scotland. Lovely quiet spot by the canal. Rang ahead to check we could stay. Nice old pub with decent food and lovely staff. Thanks.

stayed here for one night. lovely old fashioned pub with good old fashioned pub grub. lovely walk along the tow path by moonlight and in the sunshine in the morning. called before to make sure we could stay. Very welcoming

Called last minute round 9pm. Had a couple of pints in the pub with a group of friendly locals. Quiet night, with about 4 other campers in the lot. Great place for a stopover

a great little find just 2 miles off the m6. Large car park but make sure you call ahead so they can book you in for a meal. Food was lovely and service pleasant

Wollten gestern hier übernachten und haben vorher angerufen. Uns wurde eine Tischreservierung zum Essen aufgebrummt, mit Baby und Kleinkind nicht unbedingt das passende…sind dann woanders hin.

Stayed here about a month ago. We were there for folk night (every Thursday I believe), which we enjoyed. We ate dinner, which was cheap but quite acceptable. Enjoyed a few beers, followed by a peaceful night's sleep next to the canal.

Brilliant weekend stop over. Right on the canal bank. Great food and lovely staff. Live entertainment on the Saturday. Swing park just across the road. Dog and child friendly. 5 stars.

Well what a great find. Food and staff were great and reasonably priced. Lovely park up by the side of a canal. Large flat carpark with plenty of space. Access roads are a bit narrow and for larger MH the actual turn into the car park might be difficult as it slopes downhill fairly steeply.

Lovely big carpark right next to a peaceful canal. Free to stay, no obligation to buy food. We did and it wasn't amazing but the staff were so nice and friendly as were the locals. Acoustic night was on which was a nice treat. Would definitely go back and would recommend.

Perfectly quiet spot in a little town right next to a canal. If you use the pub you can use the carpark free of charge. Friendly staff and good food. Highly recommended for a quick stop over. We stayed a night on our way down to Shrewsbury from Glasgow.

Super stop - very helpful staff, I phoned in the morning and it was no problem. Very reasonable prices for dinner and drinks. Quiet night beside the canal and great for walks with the dog.

Poor staff skills. Lady was lovely but the lad on the bar was incredibly rude and although we had a booking he told us the kitchen had closed early although we had a booking (possible misunderstanding)We had to eat elsewhere . Setting lovely but be aware there is a locked barrier that you need the code for .great to offer free stay with visit

Superbe arrêt au bord d’un canal et d’un pub typique d’Angleterre avec un groupe de musique super. Le serveur était adorable et nous a permis de passer la nuit sur le parking du pub. Je recommande !

What a fantastic wee find. Stopped on the way up from channel tunnel to Cairnryan and made very welcome by super friendly staff. Rang ahead to make sure they would be open for food as recommended on another website. Given code to padlock to let ourselves out in morning. Beautiful setting and first class meal in bar. Highly recommended.

When I got there the gate was locked….no good

lovely stay overnight. friendly pub with good pub food. enjoyed pleasant stroll along the towpath and peaceful nights sleep.

Awesome little hide away! Flat, level, paved ground with a canal one one side. Food at the pub is good and very reasonably priced. You get to a train station along the canal in 15min on foot to go to Manchester and Liverpool. Another bigger one is 15min by bike the other direction.

A real surprise. A village atmosphere. Large car park overlooking a busy canal near a private marina. Good canalside path Very friendly and helpful pub, early drinkers and diners , good beer! mostly families. Would recommend

Great little spot. owners and staff very friendly. gate was locked at dusk. we got given the code should we need to get out early. Camra good beer pub of 2021 in Wigan so beer good. food good too and inexpensive. you could have just had drinks I suspect but we decided to support the pub and eat. right on the canal so bring your bikes.

Stayed here a couple of days ago and had a lovely peaceful night. The food was delicious and huge portions. The staff were very polite and helpful, would definitely recommend to anyone.

Stayed here overnight en route to Scotland. Free overnight gated parking on the condition you use the pub for drinks or food. Lovely location right by the Leeds/Liverpool canal. We had a meal which was excellent and the home made beer battered onion rings are the best we've ever had! Thanks.

Very happy to spend the night here. staff in the pub were lovely. they lock the gate after pub closes so no interruptions. had a super night sleep totally recommend. fantastic walks alone beautiful canal.

A lovely spot to stay. Plenty of space and a couple of other vans were there too. Right on the canal side - very pretty. They had a Greek event which was very tasty. Very friendly staff, would recommend.

Lovely traditional style pub which was very hospitable and polite. There is no charge to park but the patron does expect you to eat in the pub. The food was inexpensive and very good. We would definitely use this site again. The lady that waited on was very interesting and enthusiastic about the area which added to our enjoyment.
