Very good park up, able to empty black waste and fill up water, We had a very peaceful night sleep

  • 5/5

Really good facility right next to the lake and within easy walking distance to the town. Toilets were clean and the site seemed quiet and safe.

  • 5/5

Stayed here last night, very quiet, £16.50 for 24hrs is great value if you’re planning to head up Snowdon, plus toilets, elsan and water point. Lots of people swimming in the lake in the morning (if that’s your thing). Beautiful location right by the lake.

  • 5/5

hervorragender Platz, auch für einen Ruhetag

  • 5/5

Perfect park up!!! £16.50 24 hours. Lovely spot for a cold water dip to wake up in the mornings.

  • 5/5

This is a great facility on the outskirts of Llanberis and very handy for hiking and paddleboarding/swimming. Don’t be put off by “no overnight camping” - bay 2 has 8 motorhome bays where you can pay £16.50 to stay for 24hrs. It was really quiet at night and there is also a tap for water and bins (with recycling). The public toilets are open during the daytime I think and then locked at night.

  • 5/5

Super Platz, alles da, nur kein Strom. Lage direkt am See 1A... nachts ruhig geschlafen, morgens direkt ne Runde schwimmen... mega!

  • 4/5

  • 5/5

lovely place to stop over £16.80 for 24 hour stay, great facilities water £3 for ten minutes have to keep pressing in tap, chemical and gray water disposal free, park in bay 2 designated bays, lovely walks by the lake, will definitely come back when in Wales.

  • 3/5

Very pricey for what it is but it is nice to see an aire in a popular tourist destination

  • 4/5

A lovely place to stop for exploring the area and climbing Yr Wyddfa. The parking spot is right next to the lake and a really nice environment. The toilets were only open around 9am-5pm when we visited at Easter but are decent when they are open. As others have said - the services were not working.

  • 1/5

Stayed here the night before using the railway and didn't sleep a wink. There's a factory behind the pitches that runs very loudly throughout the night. Services are NOT in working order. The service point is taped off, so no drinking water available and no water for the chemical toilet emptying. It's been closed for some time. Save your money and park along the road instead

  • 5/5

Lovely quiet location and a pity more don't use it. Wide bays. Nearby toilets open 8am until 6pm or later. Great location, a pity others park on the Nearby road on double yellow lines. I agree that the noise from nearby factory, 24 hours, can be heard but didn't stop me sleeping after lots of local walks

  • 5/5

Good location. Feels a bit pricey for what it is but it’s fine. Recommended.

  • 4/5

We stayed 2 nights and couldn’t have asked for anything more. The designated bays for campers are clearly marked and plenty big enough. There is a free toilet block 30 seconds walk from the park up and are open from 6am - 5pm. There is a service area which includes free chemical waste disposal and grey waste, as well as fresh water fill up (£3). Parking is £16.50 a night (limited to 2 nights).

  • 5/5

Brilliant facility, all services except electric. You do need £1 coins to get water. Easy to pay through app. No pre booking.easy walking distance to town and sights.

  • 4/5

This site is limited to 8 campers with designated parking spots. We arrived early afternoon and by 3pm all were taken. Toilets are locked overnight so only vans with onboard toilet are permitted. There were 3 other vans parked in unmarked bays, so I guess you would be taking chances and in peak season that might be a problem. Waste disposal was blocked during our stay. Otherwise great location!

  • 5/5

Stayed 2 nights, great park up and super quiet! Easy walk into town and the lake right there for a morning swim!

  • 4/5

Fantastic facility (by UK standards). So big thanks to the Council/Park for their support to the Motorhome community. French-style 'aire-de-service borne' for waste & water and rubbish/recycling. It's a shame the toilets (in an expensive-looking building) are still locked at 10h30 on a Saturday. (not sure what UK has against the simple 24/7 self-contained 'pod' loos you find in France?)

  • 4/5

Facilities ok for short 2 night stops. 8 van spaces @ £16.5 per night. Toilet shuts at night, grey waste disposal available, didn't check if water is working yet. The site is next to a warehouse and you can hear possibly a generator all night and more annoyingly a 'hammer' blow every 20 seconds - ALL NIGHT!! Ear plugs Def required to get some sleep!

  • 5/5

Great place for overnighting. Quiet and off the road. Immediate access to the water for anyone wanting to swim, kayak or paddle board. Signage states that you must be self sufficient (own toilet and waste) no fires. Great access to town with a number of options for food and beer.

  • 5/5

  • 5/5

We love this place. My main issue was the locals! Two cars of young lads and girls turned up throwing their milkshakes and fast food wrappers all over the floor right next to the lake. I approached and gave them a bin bag. They left the rubbish and the bin bag on the floor after kicking a ball about and drove off. I picked it up and walked the 3 mins to the bins. Stop blaming the overnighters.

  • 5/5

Pay and Display machines are now up and running. £33 for 48 hours, no return in 7 days. Fairly flat and perfect night sleep here! Right next to the toliets and fresh water (which currently isn't working)

  • 5/5

WC nachts geschlossen. Gutes Mischkonzept mit Tagespark- und Übernachtungsstellplätzen. Wasser bei V/E noch nicht verfügbar. Bitte mehr davon in UK!

  • 5/5

Quiet, tidy and great access to Llyn Padarn with magnificent views. Short walk into Llanberis. Toilets close by (open daytime only). Cafe and water sports centre close by. Max stay 48hrs, for £33

  • 4/5

  • 5/5

great views over lake and towards Yr Wyddfa

  • 5/5

  • 5/5

Stayed 1 night here, it’s like a French aires now. Waste, fresh water ( at a fee) there was toilets, however they wasn’t open when we came. Also, never had to pay as the ticket machines are still covered. Doesn’t look like it’s fully set up / finished yet.

  • 5/5

Amazing! next to lakes and beautiful mountain trails and a 5 minute walk to the town with cafes and a shop (1 fully vegan one!). The pay machine still isn’t working so you don’t have to pay but the water tap and waste water isn’t running yet either so bare that in mind. There was one strange man in a blue BMW w/ Irish plates checking vans out and moving from one spot to another in the evening.

  • 5/5

All good no payment machine working at the moment 8 self contained motorhome bays great for the night at Snowdon base patrols done by officials for non compliance of small van with no facilities

  • 5/5

All good and no need to pay anything for time being. There is one weird local I think that checks vans out to see if you are up to no good as I have seen him 5 times now. He looks a lonely person to me with nothing to do or maybe he has other intentions. I have been here a few days now on and off - I will challenge him if I see him again or call the police.

  • 5/5

Nothing to add to the previous comment - still no payment facility so we stayed for free, and still no water or flush for the WC disposal. But a superb spot on an April weekend - best wishes for the site's continued success through the summer. Great access into the village for the Sherpa bus service and we enjoyed the Heights pub, Allports chippy, Spice takeaway and Pantri for breakfast!

  • 5/5

Stayed here for three nights for free as ‘aire rules’ are not yet in operation. Asked parking officers & they said overnight is fine. No water available yet but lots of bibs including recycling & toilets open during day. You can use waste disposal but need to flush it with your own water or use the public toilets. Beautiful spot right next to river. Perfect location for hiking Snowdon.

  • 3/5

Site still being developed. In Bae2 (area 2) there are larger spaces that are likely going to be the motorhome bays, but no service point. No new signs or payment machine and ‘No Overnight’ notices still in place. At present day parking only allowed, but free. Only services are the public toilets.

  • 4/5

Watch this space. There are notices up about a new Order which takes effect from 20/07/23. 7 Motorhome bays have been marked out as part of the resurfacing & renovation of the car parks. No ticket machines installed yet but you can see where the infer structure has been installed for them and a sign points to Motorhome parking and grey waste dump (couldn’t see any facility yet) £15pn. 2 night max

  • 1/5

Interdit, passage bloqué par une barrière , juillet 23

  • 2/5

Great place to visit for the day if you’re after mountain and lake scenery. No overnight parking permitted in the newly refurbished parking bays. Toilets are locked in the evenings. No on-site taps, bring your own water or buy from the local shops. Can be extremely crowded and busy on sunny summer days. Regularly used by local teenagers as a place to hang out.

  • 2/5

nice location but during early hours car full of youngsters turned up with very very loud music and shouting.

  • 5/5

Nice and flat, quite street with nice view of the lake.

  • 4/5

Stayed along the road between the stretches of double yellow lines as the height barriers were in place. There were quite a few vehicles along the road doing the same thing but still plenty of room for us. There was a bit of a banging noise nearby which went on most of the night but we had a great night's sleep overall.

  • 4/5

The car parks and toilets are locked by security 8pm - 8am approx. Overnight parking is tolerated outside of the car parks, on the side of the road by the lake, in the few areas of the road that have not been painted with double yellow lines. Nice quiet spot with little traffic or noise, gets very busy in the daytime hours.

  • 5/5

Double yellows painted on half the road but plenty of spaces. Public toilets locked at 6pm, and there are bins outside them. Nice and quiet, and beautiful lakeside beaches.

  • 5/5

Height barriers have been installed at the far car park. We parked in the closest car park along with a few other vans then went for a wonder. When we returned all vans had left the car park and were parked on the road next to it. Spoke to few people who said security comes and moves you from the car park but fine on the road. Parked up on road no issues good night.

  • 4/5

Really nice place to park during the day, but unfortunately strictly no overnight parking

  • 4/5

Beautiful location, quite busy during the day. Most have left by about 10pm. It's just a real shame that a group of boy racers turned up at 1am sliding their cars around on the gravel and blasting loud music (looking at the other reviews this seems to be a common issue) . So we didn't sleep very well. It's about a 15 minute walk from the beginning of the Llanberis path up Snowdon.

  • 5/5

Really lovely area. Very convenient toilet and bins opposite, and water possible from outside tap at nearby cafe. A walk around the lake is fabulous, and you can walk along the train track for a better view. Bring your kayak!!

  • 4/5

Late noises from the building site next door, otherwise, 2 peacefull nights.

  • 5/5

Convenient for the easy path up Snowdon, and Llanberis with all its facilities. Quiet car park the night we were there, and good to have a clean nearby toilet for an early wash.

  • 5/5

  • 5/5

Merci pour l'info! Super nuit, très calme. // Thanks for the tip! Great night, very quiet.

  • 5/5

Wonderful parking spot, we spent one night. Next to a lake, close to Llanberis. We spent Friday night there, it was very quiet. All the other car parks are restricted and staying overnight is prohibited. This one is the only one which is not restricted. It's ideal to stay a few days, visit Llanberis and climb Mt snowdon!

  • 4/5

  • 4/5

I was also there last Saturday but possibly a bit further along (as per Mikeywilks directions below). I could hear the cars and music but it wasn’t incredibly loud; but it might not be the best spot for light sleepers.

  • 4/5

This is a lovely site but unfortunately at 1030pm on Sat 3rd Aug a large group of teenagers turned up in boy racer cars and set up a gazebo and had beers with them. started to play music and seemed to be starting the night so we left. I'm not sure if this is a regular meeting here now but it spoilt a peaceful night. it would be helpful if others could check and comment if happens again.

  • 5/5

Go to the down the road till you get to the slate built toilet block on the left. You will see 3 roads. Take the right one and this area allows over night parking. We have just stopped here for the night with another 4 vans nice quiet and beautiful. Toilets are locked during the night but are opened by 9am.

  • 5/5

Really lovely area. We stayed overnight last Saturday with no problems. Only four other campers overnight but it filled up quickly in the morning with cars and other campers. Really quiet and clean!

  • 4/5

This is a car park, usually used for people kayaking and paddle boarding to kick off into the water. Quite popular with campers at the moment. We stayed there on a Tuesday night and it wasn’t too busy at all; perfect kind of place, and doesn’t cost anything. There are public toilets at the mouth of the road, which close at around 6pm. If you go here, pleaseeeeee pick up your rubbish!

  • 4/5

Great place to stay, but I’m thinking restrictions will be in place shortly due to some people pretty much setting up home there.

  • 3/5

  • 4/5

Quiet little car park next to the lake. Quite a few vans here last night, but plenty of space to share on flat gravel surface. There are public toilets, but these are closed overnight. There’s a nearby factory which makes a constant droning noise and banging through the night, but it wasn’t loud enough to bother us.

  • 5/5

Great spot to park the night beside the lake. Very quiet and felt safe. This was our first experience at free parking and it was great !

  • 5/5

Very busy and well known to other campers, we were 1 of 10 camper vans and everyone was friendly as usual! Overall it was a gorgeous spot and the toilets were there if needed! Just note though that the toilets do get locked after 6pm!! Another thing to note is the noise at night, it’s not like it was really disturbing but it was a bit annoying there’s a factory just behind the car park and it makes loud banging noise every 5 mins all day and night no stopping. Couldn’t be that bad though because one fellow campers actually lived on that site! 5 star will come again for sure!

  • 5/5

Just spent a good night along with many other campers. On the edge of the lake, there are very lovely views and toilets at the entrance to the car park but locked at night. Be sure to use the car park with no notice or restrictions though. May actually stay another night and explore Llanberis some more.

  • 5/5

Good place to stop, lots of other campers too and also cars in and out walking or with kayaks. Nice spot to park, toilets handy but they close early, closed around 6pm but open in the morning at some point. Pretty quiet and the lake is lovely. Stayed last night and will likely stay tonight.

  • 4/5

This place is great however, it is becoming a bit of a honey pot, a few vans seem to have set up here permanently, parking sideways over multiple parking spots. Lots of toilet paper being left around and overflowing bins. This is only going to go one way eventually...

  • 5/5

It say no overnight, but no problems.

  • 5/5

Perfect spot thanks to others for recommendation. First night there was another couple of vans, second night no one else, never disturbed. Very peaceful while being close to Llamberis centre. Pub in walking distance. Toilets good but no hot water.

  • 5/5

Very nice location close to Snowdon. Quiet at night. Picnic tables, toilets during the day and a beautiful lake. There are two car parks, one has a sign that overnight parking is strictly forbidden. Therefore you should choose the one to the right. All in all a perfect place to spend one or more nights.

  • 3/5
