Only stopover for visiting Oxford. Bus stop outside pub. Stopover, toilets free if you eat/drink there. Delicious Sunday lunch. Big portions of well cooked tasty beef/chicken. Plenty of veg etc. Great selection of deserts all with cream, ice cream or custard. Good range of beer and gin. Food, drink, coffee for £30 pp. Excellent value as 2 night stopover free. Friendly staff and clean facilities.
The location is superb! Just a five minute walk to the bus stop St Nicholas School, where the X3 takes you straight into town within 15-20 minutes. Food was ok, typically pub-ish and the bartender super friendly. Despite the long opening hours we weren’t bothered by any music, people or cars leaving. Dine in & park for free is a fabulous deal for both parties, would definitely recommend.

Sehr schöner Platz, wenn man Oxford (mit Hund) erkunden möchte. Wir sind abends angekommen haben noch ein paar Pints im Pub getrunken und konnten kostenlos stehen. Sehr schöne Atmosphäre im Pub. Zum City Centre ist es ein 30-40 minütiger Spaziergang durch Wald und Felder. Der Hund hatte einen schönen Auslauf bevor wir in in der Stadt angeleint haben.

Did not book and arrived at 4:30pm - parking was around half full (Friday in August). Paid £20 to the bartender for one night and didn’t eat/ drink at the pub. Toilet available in the pub during opening hours - no services after closing time. Amazing location to visit Oxford. University Parks Parkrun is a 25 minute walk from the pub.
Wir durften hier kostenlos den Tag über stehen und sind 30min nach Oxford gelaufen, sehr hübscher Spaziergang. Busstation wohl auch direkt vor dem Pub. Haben dann vor dem Fahren noch etwas im Pub getrunken, sehr nette Leute, rustikale britische Kneipenatmosphäre. Über Nacht kostenlos, wenn man dort zu Abend isst. Toiletten im Pub.

Pub muy tranquilo en las afueras de Oxford con parada de bus justo enfrente que te lleva al centro en 10min. Gran variedad de cervezas a precios decentes. Pasamos una noche muy tranquila.
Ampio parcheggio su prato nel retro del pub, abbiamo passato una notte tranquilla con una decina di altri camper. Abbiamo cenato al pub, piatti molto buoni e gustosi, prezzi equi per porzioni abbondanti, 58£ in tre persone. Il centro si raggiunge comodamente a piedi con una passeggiata di 25 minuti su un sentiero nel verde.

Nous nous sommes arrêté ici après avoir roulé vers le Nord pour rejoindre l'Ecosse beaucoup de véhicules déjà en place à notre arrivée mais nous avons trouvé notre place sans soucis. Nous avons profité du Pub pour manger, Fish and Chips, Burger, Pizza...
Die Stellplätze sind ok, 30 Minuten zu Fuß durch den Park bis in die Stadt. Der Pub hat Sonntagabends und Montags geschlossen.
Fantastische plek! Rustig (je hoort wel in de verte de grote baan), dichtbij oxford (voor 10 pond kun je de hele dag alle bussen nemen met 5 mensen!) en lekker eten in de red lion. Onze camper is >7m lang en 3,2m hoog, perfecte plaats.
Ottimo per visitare Oxford. Gratuito se si consuma qualcosa al pub, senza servizi ma silenziosissimo e molto carino. Camminata bellissima per raggiungere il centro di Oxford o in alternativa si può prendere un taxi o un Uber. Consigliatissimo!
Great place to park to visit Oxford! The pub has great beer and nice people to talk to. The bus to the city stops right in front of the pub, but if you have a group with more then 2 people it's better to get an Uber.

Fantastic place to park for the night. Make sure to buy some drinks or a meal from the very friendly pub. Great to leave the vehicle and visit Oxford city, bus opposite £2.50 one way. Thanks Red Lion Pub.
Nice pub stopover. Food is standard pub fare but well cooked. They want you to use the pub but seemed happy with one night out of two . Good selection of beer. 10 minutes by bike to city centre and there is a bus stop opposite the pub too. Tight turn into car park but Ok with 6.4 m van. Room for 5 or 6 vans/campers.
Brilliant spot. We stayed 3 nights. Very welcoming staff. Excellent pub food reasonable prices and value for money real ale too. Old marston v pretty village. Cheap bus into Oxford. Would definitely use again
We have used this location on numerous occasions. Nice food and friendly staff. Pub closed on a Monday, but still allowed us to stay over.
A great location for Oxford, quiet park up - 45 mins walk or 15 mins by bus to centre. Standard pub food at reasonable prices. Staff really welcoming. Other campervans around. I suspect much busier in the summer than it is in winter.
Just a lovely place to stay.. Very welcoming staff in the lovely quintessential British pub with amazing food and a great pint of Guinness... always busy with other campervans from all over Europe... A real gem for its location..

Für einen Oxfordbesuch perfekt, da der Bus vor dem Pub halbstündig abfährt. Entäuscht waren wir allerdings von dem angeblich netten Chef. Bei der Essensbestellung war er extrem unfreundlich, am liebsten wären wir wieder gefahren. Fazit: Stellplatz gut gelegen, Pub - muss nicht noch einmal sein. Man fühlt sich absolut nicht willkommen.

Amazing place to stay. Plenty of room in the lovely car park. We had a meal (Fish & Chips) - the small portion is huge and a couple of pints. Didn’t have to pay anything extra for staying. Staff and locals all very friendly. Great place

Sehr netter Pub mit gutem Essen. Nach dem Abendessen war die Übernachtung ohne Problem möglich. Die angrenzende Straße war nachts ruhiger als befürchtet. Sehr zu empfehlen.

No facilities on site, useful for motorhomes with their own facilities Friendly and efficient staff Best fish and chips we ate in England Rather difficult access in the yard for > 7m motorhomes The next day, for having a paid tour of Oxford, we moved to the Park and Ride Station.
Stayed for a couple of nights. We did ring ahead to book but probably didn’t need to as there was plenty of space. Free as long as you have a drink/food in the pub. Very friendly staff and locals. Nice food. 40min walk into the centre of Oxford and there is a bus stop outside for those who don’t wish to walk.
Plenty of room for all sizes of motorhome or campers. We just turned up around 2pm and went in to see the man in the bar. Was happy enough, told us to park anywhere but we went away to the top of car park on a firm grassy area. I offered to pay and he said if you come in and have drinks or food there’s no need. We booked in for dinner had a few drinks. Our meals were fabulous and good portions.

Red Lion Pub car park is a great stop over for an overnight with a cosy friendly pub. If you use the pub to drink or eat, the overnight is free! No facilities but you have a great pub.

Nov23. Ideal pub stop when local official sites want £20 just to park on the grass. Food was nice. Pub was busy but that’s a good thing. 12 MHs the night we were there. Tight entry best to drive past, turn then come in from the far side, or take a wide swing from other side of the road.
Stayed 14/09/23 they’re still letting people stay here if you buy something. They were also very nice in letting me plug my depleted jackery in! Food was lovely and well priced, with lots of options for picky eaters like me. There’s also a bus stop nearby.
Das ist ein super Spot. Hinter dem Pub steht man wirklich gut. Es gibt zwar keinen Wohnmobil-Service, aber solange der Pub geöffnet hat, kann man zumindest dessen WC nutzen. Diese sind sauber und ordentlich. Der Deal, Essen oder Trinken im Pub gegen Stellplatz ist super fair. Die Leute im Pub sind sehr freundlich, Getränke und Essen sind völlig ok. Vielen Dank an den Wirt. Wir bleiben 2 Nächte.

Genial para quedarte a dormir. No tiene servicios pero hay buen ambiente, la comida está muy rica y bien de precio, el personal es muy amable, hay espacio para autocaravanas grandes y la parada de bus en la puerta.

Super lieu, nous sommes arrivés vers 12h, avons déjeuné au restaurant, où le patron accueillant nous a donné les infos pour récupérer la piste cyclable et aller sur Oxford environ 15 min du centre ville, nous avons passé la nuit après avoir demandé confirmation malgré que déjà quelques camping car étaient présents, bonne nuit sans bruit, nous recommandons

Great parking area in the yard on grass. You can stay there for free, if you drink or eat something in the pub. The prices in the pub are reasonable, food is nice. Close to bus station, from where you could get into the centre.
Nous avons profité de ce spot en garant notre camping car sur la partie en herbe au fond du parking. Nous avons dîné en famille au pub. C'est donc gagnant gagnant. Le lendemain, nous avons laissé le camping car sur place tandis que nous étions partis visiter Oxford. La ligne 14 passe devant le pub, et l'arrêt de bus est à 50 mètres. Une bonne adresse !

Grüner Platz hinterm Pub. Bei uns gab es am Sonntagabend gegen 18 Uhr nichts zu essen. Wir durften für ein Getränk kostenfrei über Nacht bleiben. Uns wurde zum Essen fußläufig Fish and Chips empfohlen.
Schöner grüner Parkplatz hinter dem Pub. Es war sehr ruhig und wir haben gut geschlafen. :) Der Gastgeber und die Gäste waren sehr freundlich. Wir hatten eine gute Zeit im Pub.
Excellent stop over here last night, quiet car park with a few other campers in. Meal for 3 with drinks came in at £50. A warm welcome from staff and managed a lay in until 1030 before knocking out a bacon butty and heading off. Perfect budget touring!

Ein toller Ort zum übernachten. Kein Service, aber wir haben ja alles an Bord . Der Wirt total freundlich, parken ist kostenlos. Wir haben dort zu Abend gegessen ,es war super. Mit dem Bus in 15 Minuten in der City, 2,3o pro Person. Bushaltestelle direkt am Pub.

Arrived Friday afternoon. Unable to arrange to eat in the pub as they were fully booked. They didn't seem bothered about us staying without spending or paying. They just specified that we should park on the grass not on the gravel. By 8.00pm there were 10 motorhomes and campervans in the car park!

Waren im Pub zum Abendessen und durften dann über Nacht stehen bleiben. Sehr nette Atmosphäre im Pub und viel (ebener) Platz zum Parken. Die hinteren Parkplätze sind im Gras, vorne gibt's einige auf Kies. Ins Stadtzentrum von Oxford kann man entweder mit dem Bus fahren oder entspannt 40-45 Minuten laufen.

The Red Lion at Marston is one of our favourite stops if we pass. Lovely large grass space at the back of the pub with room for 10 motorhomes. Nice stop for the cost of a round of drinks, we have found the food here excellent. No services however but there is a bin. Toilets are open during the pubs trading hours.
Great stay, only one other van there on the Saturday of a Bank Holiday weekend, which was surprising. Lovely grassy section behind the pub. Great modern pub and outdoor space filled with gorgeous flowers, it was a shame to see it almost empty at around 9pm. Will definitely be back for future Oxford visits!
This was a very enjoyable place to spend a night and only a short bus ride away into Oxford. Spend £20 on food and booze a night and the Landlord was happy for us to stay all day. Great pizza from an outdoor wood fired pizza oven. Blankets for those who feel the cold. A worthy post-covid stopping point.
If you have a drink or two you can stay in the car park. We had awsome BBQ ribs and some drinks. Super friendly stuff. The bus stop to Oxford is opposite the pub. Ask for a 24h family ticket if required.

Great place but a bit tricky to find. It’s not on Marston Ferry Road it’s on Oxford road off Marston Ferry Road.
What a great spot for visiting Oxford. Unfortunately pub closed for refurbishment but at the temporary bar in the garden the young lady in charge said we were fine to stay and only needed to buy a couple of drinks to cover our parking charge.

Parfait ! Tranquille la nuit, personnel très accueillant, aire de jeux pour enfants et bus public (ligne 14) pour le centre ville juste à côté. On recommande vivement !
Sitio magnífico para visitar Oxford. Si consumes en el pub no se paga aparcamiento. El aparcamiento es de hierba y nivelado. No hay servicios de vaciado ni llenado. Totalmente recomendable.

Spent a nice night here in April 19. Owners very friendly and accommodating, and pitch up area is quiet and flat (even on a Saturday). The food was nice and good value.
The best place to park in Oxford by far! We stayed on 2/10/18 and had beers. There are no facilities but the pub has free WiFi. Very friendly and welcoming.
Petit pub super sympa avec possibilité restauration ou une bonne bière contre emplacement gratuit, les gens sont accueillant et centre ville proche en prenant la ligne 13, oxford est une très jolie ville à visiter avec tous ces jolis magasins ces rues et ces collèges à visiter !! Accueil très agréable. Le stationnement est très bien et sécurisé (portail fermé la nuit). Les bus pour le centre sont à proximité. Nous y avons passé une très bonne nuit.
