amazing little layby. listened to the sea all night long. quiet in the night.

  • 4/5

Great spot by the sea. Busy, busy when we arrived but managed to get a space. Very quiet night apart from a thunderstorm⚡beautiful again in the morning ☀️

Arrived on a busy Sunday pm, I managed to park between the 2 markers on P4N before moving into the bays later. It got a bit quieter around 6pm but still VERY busy to 11pm as people stayed for sunset. Around midnight a couple of cars arrived shouting at each other with full lights on for about 45mins, they didn’t approach the van but were close enough that I felt on edge as a solo female.

Great view, however it was crammed with campervans (I parked further down the road in a less crowded car park) . Leaving spaces between vehicles or park sideways can easily be insensible toward other visitors or locals, please be mindful

  • 5/5

Great views of the beach and the island. Some minor road noise. One bin. 20 min walk to the port via the beach.

  • 3/5

It's a good spot, however there can easily be 10 campers crammed in here, taking up all the carparking spaces. So please be mindful of locals and other visitors.

  • 4/5

Beautiful location. Short walk to Ballycastle town & marina. Stunning view towards Rathlin. Very quiet & great for a beach walk or road walk to Fair Head. No amenities but rubbish bin available. Public toilets a 5 minute walk at beachfront.

  • 5/5

A beautiful view. Fairly quiet place to park for the night, with the exception of a few late night cars playing music. Very exposed in windy weather

Perfect stopover with a beautiful view. It's right above the beach (perfect for a fresh dip) and a lovely 10 minute walk to the town. Get some delicious fresh pastries in Ursa Minor's while you're there, they're amazing! I would highly recommend this parking spot but don't overstay your welcome, it's popular so let others have a chance to enjoy.

An amazing stop over! Gorgeous views of the beach. Some walkers and beach visitors but a quiet overnight for a 7m motorhome. No services but it’s free

  • 4/5

Stayed here in April 2022 for one night. Really nice spot, little bit noisy from cars passing close by.

  • 5/5

  • 4/5

Plenty of bins, easy access to the beach and very busy with dog walkers during the day. Very peaceful spot at night, with nothing but the sound of the waves. Further long the road is ample parking for shorter vehicles.

  • 3/5

  • 3/5

Nice spot with views of beautiful beach ,its very popular with locals and dog walkers currently no restrictions but I can see that changing soon ,when I arrived there were 3 motorhomes when I left there were 10 squeezed in with no room left for cars. locals with disgruntled faces.

Tolle Aussicht, direkter Strandzugang.

  • 5/5

Fantastic night, sat and watched the sun go down. Outstanding views. Didn't find it too noisy and loved the sound of the crashing waves to get us over to sleep. Plenty of parking. would highly recommend.

  • 5/5

Fabulous place lovely views. Room for plenty vans and quiet apart from sound of crashing waves

  • 4/5

Good night stop after crowds have left but surprising noisy minor road late into the night and very early in the morning. Top tip if you love good award winning bread and pastries Ursa Minor Cafe in Ballycastle is a must.

  • 4/5

Long bay of parking for small vans further along. lovely quiet spot with views and walk back to Ballycastle. Good fishing on headland over bridge. Quiet spot without the boy racers.

  • 5/5

  • 4/5

Great spot busy with beachgoers very quiet overnight.

  • 4/5

  • 4/5

Absolutely glorious beach view However very full of beach goers on a sunny summer day means not really any room for us. We wedged ourselves on to the side of the road to spend an hour on lunch and a walk. Other campers here. One con is that the road is very narrow with no place for a campervan to turn around. Prepare to commit yourself to the full loop if you head down to check it out.

  • 5/5

  • 3/5

Ballycastle is full of boom gates and no overnight parking signs. The Carrickmore Rd lay-by the only exception. Quiet for traffic noise but the waves hitting the shingle beach will be there. There is another small car-park 200m further along. There is a bin and you will get looks from the dog walkers early as your in the parking spot. Good spot.
