Für die Wanderung zum Pen y Fan ein gut gelegener und kostenfreier Parkplatz. Übernachten würde ich hier jedoch nicht an der stark befahrenen Straße.
Au-dessus de Storey Arms, ce parking est adapté pour la journée et la nuit. Aux côtés de l'A470 très fréquentée, mais devient un peu plus calme plus tard dans la soirée. Le plus grand avantage est que l'accès au sentier de randonnée Pen-y-Fan se fait littéralement de l'autre côté de la route.
On top of Storey Arms, this lay-by parking is suitable for day and overnight. Alongside the busy A470, but does go a bit quieter later in the evening. Biggest benefit is that accessing the Pen-y-Fan hiking trail is literally across the road. No mobile service
Dieser Rastplatz oben auf Storey Arms ist für Tages- und Übernachtungszwecke geeignet. Entlang der stark befahrenen A470, später am Abend jedoch etwas ruhiger. Der größte Vorteil besteht darin, dass der Zugang zum Pen-y-Fan-Wanderweg buchstäblich auf der anderen Straßenseite erfolgt.

otottravel01/07/2025We slept at the big layby nearby and came here early to secure a spot to hike to Pan y Fan.
Insearchofsun09/06/2025Good free lay-by parking with nice surrounding views. It's only 5 mins walk to the start of the Pen Y Fan hike. There are toilets at the National Trust paid for car park 5 mins up the road. It's a bit noisy from the main road traffic but I use ear plugs to sleep.

Parked here for the night after our hike up Pen y Fan. Ok place to stop with beautiful scenery. Drop toilet up near the information centre where the paid parking is. Considerable amount of road noise throughout the night but it didn’t bother us. Lots of rubbish not correctly disposed of which is disappointing.

Lovely spot to stay! Quiet in the night and amazing access to hike trails during the day.
esprit-libre03/09/2024Arrivez en fin d'après midi, pour avoir de la place. Dormez ici sans problème et le matin partez faire la rando Pen y Fan Walk qui débute juste en face du parking. Super endroit, mais pas de services. Full 5G
bownsy3316/06/2024Perfect spot to set off on your walk up Pen Y Fan directly across from Storey Arms. Burger van opened at 7:30am if you want a quick breakfast before setting off. Not the most picturesque place but did the job. Personally I’d stay 2mins further down the road at the side of the reservoir for a much more picturesque spot (still next to road) & then in the morning just drive to this spot to park up.
