An idyllic place for an overnighter. Great views & good space. It's a typical place for locals to park up, eat their Macdonald's and dump their litter. The Police were there as we arrived, which probably helped, but after 10pm it was quiet for a peaceful night's sleep. Be aware, Approach roads from either end are narrow, particularly from the south, little room for manoeuvre in our motorhome.
Absolutely lovely, lovely view, nice and calm, sheep and cows bleating and mooing. Some rubbish from the locals who come up in the evening but everyone had gone by 11pm. Road up is a bit steep, narrow and windy so you need nerves of steel but there were plenty of people coming and going.
Pluses: beautiful view, flat parking, walks. Minuses: extremely busy evening with youth in cars playing music and making noise. Tons of litter (we did a litter pick and filled one bag quickly only for a car to immediately throw their takeaway boxes out in front of us). Noisy kids. Such a shame for this lovely spot and the cows and sheep.
Lovely calm place to park up, sheep and cows wander round grazing. Beautiful views across the valley, good internet connection, lovely walks through the hills and woods. It's a steep climb up a narrow lane but honestly worth the effort.
The drive up is very, very steep no passing places, need to be a very confident driver and passenger.. once up there 2 part to the carpark 1 is tarmac and flat other has lots of pot holes semi flat, the view was amazing A few cars pulled up and chat to each other, I said hi to everyone very polite no problems all gone before 11pm Was woken several times through the night, by sheep Baa Baa love it
Great view and reasonably quite over night, didn't arrive until around 11pm and just a couple other vans until it started to get busy with dog walkers and cars in the morning. The Queen Inn just down the road is a great little pub, very friendly to the camper community (would have stayed in their car park if not for the angle). Fully vegan menu too, if that's of interest.
Fréquenté par les jeunes le soir, mais ils n'ont pas fait trop de bruit. Terrain plat, il y a des poubelles mais plein de déchets par terre... Vaches et moutons pâturent en liberté, c'est très agréable. Vue sur la vallée.
Other then the youngsters blasting music ect it’s very quite and lovely scenes
Nice views, sheep, lots of space, bins and signal. Many cars and hikers during the day. I planned to stay the night, however a guy knocked on my door and said he didn’t mean to be nosy, but something was wrong with my van (I checked, everything was fine). Felt unsafe as a solo female and moved on.
Just pulled up at one of my favourite park up spots at the Mountain Air carpark above Cwmbran. Wales. It's a great spot, can be busy with dog walkers, but great views and generally quiet after dark. Messy kids have been up here at night throwing McDonald's trash everywhere. I half filled a bin sack. This is the third time I've done a litter pickup here.
Was going to stay but moved at 11pm because of youths using the carpark for drugs loud music honking there horn then saw one youth reverse his car onto the rocks so decided to move to a safer place
Nice flat quiet spot with good views. Good signal on Vodafone.
Absolutely perfect night, no noises. Space for around 20 large vans. No parking restrictions day or night. 100% recommend if you’re looking for a quiet night. Lovely viewpoint of Cwmbran.
Nous sommes arrivés vers 19h et quelques voitures de jeunes se trouvaient déjà là, moteurs allumés. Beaucoup d’autres voitures, pleine à chaque fois de 3-4 jeunes, n’ont fait qu’aller et venir, en roulant très vite, musique à fond. Vraiment pas à l’aise, nous avons quitté l’endroit à 1h30 du matin. Beaucoup de déchets.
