Lovely spot I between the canal & river. Car park gets busy during the day with walkers & fishermen but we squeezed in and by evening the car park was empty apart from one other motorhome. The road is quite busy so it's not as peaceful as it looks but that didn't bother us & cars pulling back in early for dog walks. 10 minute walk into Barnby Dun for shops/bars & a lovely farm shop & cafe.

05/03 Stayed 2 nights. No signs prohibiting parking and overnight stays. Also no bin now. Peaceful nights sleeping. Just the odd noise when vehicles go over the lift bridge. We have been come here for 3 years and always enjoyed our stay. Thanks to the Canal & River Trust. Shops and take away foods 10 min walk. Lovely canal walks to be had here.

THE NO OVERNIGHT SIGN HAS GONE, It was only there a day or two

Lovely spot next to canal. Shops a few minutes away, and town about 20 minute walk. Please take your rubbish with you as there’s only a very small bin here. We did a litter pick before we went, so the locals didn’t think it was us leaving a mess. Bit noisy as close to the road, and bridge goes up when boats come along. Very picturesque though.

Très joli spot, certes un peu bruyant mais pittoresque. Un robinet avec de l’eau potable de l’autre côté du canal (il suffit de retraverser le pont!).

Great park up! FREE car park right next to the river. I arrived at around 3pm on a Friday afternoon and there was space. There’s a Co-Op and bars/pubs within walking distance. I had a walk to The Hart at Barnby Dun which was lovely. I have a BW key so was able to use the toilet. I felt safe here. The bridge can be noisy as vehicles drive over but I would 100% stay here again :)

I have stayed here in my boat loads of times over the years,I have seen the campervans parked here over the years. the village is very nice and the Chinese take away excellent. the bridge is busy and noisy but hasn't stopped is sleeping. if you have a BW key you have acs6to toilets, showers and rubbish disposal and 2 water taps, elsans can be emptied as well

excellent park up, quietish but suitable for a night. Wouldn't recommend motorhome size vans as the parking space is limited.

Lovely site with great walks down the side of the canal. Busy during the day but very quiet overnight. Shops and take aways within walking distance. There are rubbish bins on the opposite side of the canal down some steps, next to the fresh water tap. Locals are very friendly and welcoming. Would definately stay here again.

really nice location. fairly busy if you're a light sleeper. nice walks along the water. rubbish bin.

Came here because the parking spot more south had some guys setting up for a noisy outdoor party. Definitely not as quiet as that one would have been, gets kinda noisy with cars passing in the morning (we camped Sunday to Monday morning), but it was lovely and peaceful in the evening and at night. Great place for a walk too, and many locals do in the morning.

The locals seem accepting of occasional overnighters. I have stopped here a few times and there were other campers stopped too. So far, unlike other nearby places, there haven't been noisy groups or somebody trying the door handles in the early hours. For me, the noise is fine, really.

Gets quite busy in the day with fishermen but from 4-5pm onwards nice and quiet. Lovely walks along the canal. Nice visit from the cows. Had a few late night visitors but they were very quiet and didn’t cause any problems.

Quiet, though any cars going over the bridge are quite loud so if you’re a light sleeper I’d suggest parking at the far end. Had a nice chat with the bridge operator, lovely person and no issues with people staying as long as you don’t make a mess. No bins, be prepared to take your trash with you. Lovely walk out of the gate at the end, following the canal up to the second bridge, where you can cross the bridge and then come back down the other side.
