  • 3/5

Beautiful city, well worth a visit. Cathedral, Abbey Gardens, Greene King Brewery. But so noisy... Industrial work going on day and night. Then the noise from the A14.... Visit, see the city, but don't spend the night.

  • 3/5

Five pitches in total but very close together. Toilets open and water pipe functioning this May 2025. Don't bother with the Ringgo app as it does not recognise either the code for the site 4483, neither does it recognise motorhome facilities. You have to pay using another meter in the middle of the large car park.

  • 3/5

Ok zum Parken und für eine Nacht. Wir haben um 4 Uhr Nachmittag den letzten freien Wohnmobilplatz bekommen. Abends ziemlich laut, bis 11 Uhr ( Match ??) . Nachts einigermaßen ruhig. Man hört die Autobahn. WC bis 17 Uhr offen.

  • 4/5

Great for a one nighters - super cheap and easy access to Bury Town centre. Gets very full very quickly, but extra spaces around the corner - not specifically for campers but they fit my lwb daily overhang nicely

  • 3/5

Great service provided but bear in mind the water tap is on the main road with no space to get near to fill up but great for filling containers. Toilets also closed as of 25/01/25.

  • 4/5

Great the council have mad provisions for 5 but our 7.5 meter over hung so unless your happy overhanging then I would give it a miss . Arrived Saturday morning in November , car park busy but 1 place left for another motorway.

  • 4/5

Good spot but only 4 spaces so quite an element of potluck as to whether there is space. Not sure why other reviewers object to campervans - ours has exactly the same facilities as a Motorhome so is all but identical other than its made out of metal rather than white plastic.

  • 5/5

Arrived late after 2200, Ringo App said no charge for that time of night, and left early in the morning. Got a little Noisy at 0600 with cars/trucks moving. All 5 Motor Home bays full. But plenty of other space in carpark if you are a smaller vehicle, or can take up two spaces. Felt safe. would stay again.

  • 5/5

We arrived late to get the last free space. One space used up by a Luton van and next day there was a car on one of the spaces. Both had parking tickets the next day. There are 5 spaces. Coke to town centre

  • 5/5

Just spent a day and night £3 all day free overnight, excellent spot very quiet toilets with outside tap one minute walk away,5 mins walk into town well done Bury St Edmunds

  • 5/5

Well done to the council for putting in motorhome bays. There are toilets and you are in easy walking distance to the town centre and Abbey park. great sleep, and felt safe. Update I stayed here again in Jan 25, and still a great place.

  • 5/5

Our 4th visit to Ram Meadow Bury St Edmunds, excellent stopover toilets and fresh water provision, close to town centre market day on Wednesday, lots of places to eat and visit the Nutshell, the smallest pub in UK.

  • 5/5

perfect i stayed here for almost a week visiting family and cheap you pay from 8am to 8pm £3 then free from 8pm to 8am

  • 4/5

A great little offering from Bury St Edmunds Council. 4 MH parking bays just outside the height barrier to car park. We arrived at around 11am and there were 2 bays free. It cost us £4.20 to park and that takes us up to 8am the following morning. A very short stroll to the Abbey Gardens, Cathedral and town centre where there are lots of places to eat and drink.

  • 4/5

Good of bury st edmund Council to supply motorhome parking however limited Motorhome parking spots, so no guarantee will have a space and no other parking for motorhomes in bury st edmunds.

  • 5/5

Super place to stop in Bury St. Edmunds. A well used car park with four dedicated Motorhome spaces (we got the last one). Close to the Cathedral and five minutes walk into the town. Surprisingly quiet night. Toilets on site with a tap outside the male toilet. Ample bins. Thank you to the town for providing this space.

  • 5/5

Great spot in the city, walking distance from shop, pubs, restaurants. Paid contacless at the meter. Plenty of other spaces for smaller vans in addition to the 4 motorhome bays. Stopped here several times with no issues.

  • 5/5

we stayed for a Friday night. 5 spaces at the front of the carpark but probably another 10 which could be used for a longer camper. bit busy from 6am as the market traders arrived just minutes from the town only downside is the spaces are very close together and we were unlucky to have a grumpy old man and his dog next to us who shouted at us for waking him with our door closing at 9pm

  • 4/5

Good spot, very close to town. Was parked closely in between two other vans and toilets closed at night hence not full stars but would definitely use again.

  • 5/5

A place with allocated spaces in a town (very pretty town at that), and reasonably priced. Very grateful to Bury St Edmunds. Good 4G signal. Disagree with one comment below saying campervans shouldn't be allowed in "motorhome only" spots. It's clearly an umbrella term and the spaces are small. Campers have as much right to park there and there wasn't much space left after parking our VW anyway!

  • 2/5

motorhome bays all full with local business vans, so there is nowhere for us to park. the rest of the car park had lots of space for these vans to park, but they clearly choose to fill up the motorhome spaces to stop us parking there!!!!

  • 4/5

Great little site, all praise to Bury council for the rare site,we stayed for 2 nights and just payed £9 for the weeks ticket,it was only spoilt by other campers that emptied their grey waste tanks on the ground and one camper leaving a pile of soggy toilet paper behind ,it clearly says Motorhome only but there was a. mini bus and 2 VW camper vans taking up some of the spaces .

  • 4/5

Guter, sehr günstiger Platz extra für Motorhomes, fühlt sich sehr sicher an. Tagsüber eventuell auch von Autos zugeparkt, abends war dann sogar noch ein Platz frei.

  • 5/5

Managed to get the last parking spot for a motorhome, a pity some campers were taking up some spaces. Fees are very low for an overnight stay. A really good place for a stop over and even a longer stay.

  • 5/5

fantastic little spot should be more of these in other towns and cities. always nice when you can park up and get water and other essentials. well done bury st Edmunds.

  • 1/5

This car park has just been resurfaced so smells strongly of tar. We moved to St Andrews long stay car park instead. Slight road noise but no smell. Suitable for SWB only.

  • 5/5

Just stayed here for the night nice carpark room for 5 motorhomes 7m £1 from 6pm to 8am £3 from 8am till 6pm or £9 for the week cannot believe the price only 10 minute walk to town.

  • 5/5

First class other towns take note

  • 5/5

Great. Parked here for 3 nights and paid the £9 for a week. Abbey Gardens and ruins just a short walk up the road and town centre just beyond with lots of bars and shops. Designated motorhome parking bays and toilets in car park. Will definitely be returning here for another visit soon. Bury St Edmonds is beautiful

  • 5/5

Fab place, safe and quite. 4 motorhome spots but campervan scattered around. Busy in the day with cars but still quite. Good signal 4g even managed to play WWC and 20 mins to town and shops. Did look for the loos or the water tap.

  • 5/5

Stayed the night. Bay wasn’t really big enough for our 7.4m van so we were overhanging. Good that there are designated bays and very reasonable price for the location. Level car park. Free toilets just around the corner. 3 bars on EE. Footpath off the car park along the river so perfect for a dog walk, deer around so kept dog on lead.

  • 4/5

Strictly speaking this should be listed as Ram Meadows car park. Great stopover in a lovely town. We stayed two nights paid for a week at £9. Toilets locked around 7pm. Lots of nice places to eat in town and a great place to visit.

  • 5/5

Great for a 1 nighter to visit the town - We stopped on the way down to Dover. Lots of spots further into the car park through the next set of gates.

  • 5/5

Great spot, five minutes from the town centre. £2.50 to park for three hours, massive space easily seven metres long. Very cheap overnight parking. Brilliant parkup that other towns really should copy.

  • 5/5

Well done Bury St Edmunds Council for recognising the need for a stopover place. You'll need to be self-contained but that's fine. Toilets are shut overnight understandably. Ram Meadow is just off the town centre - walking distance to all Bury's amenities £1 overnight.

  • 5/5

All good . Very cheap. Water tap on. Smack in the city Center. Shame other cities cannot replicate these superb services. Thank you Bury.

  • 5/5

There aren’t that many decent free places to park-up across East Anglia so this place makes a great hub to travel from. Only GBP9 for a full week and you can come and go each day.

  • 4/5

Great place to park, easy access to town and great value for money. Be quick as there’s limited spaces and often taken up by much smaller campervans, which could easily fit into any of the other spaces. Toilets, but no showers & locked overnight, water tap and a waste bin. Well done Bury St Ed council.

  • 5/5

Fantastic stop over it’s got everything from historic sites to dog walks absolutely unbelievable and the cost £1 overnight ?

  • 5/5

Ottimo posto per visitare Bury. Vicino al centro e posti in piano

  • 5/5

We stayed two nights and it was fabulous.

  • 5/5

Really couldn’t be better. Parking space is a great size, near to toilets and access to town. Bins and recycling available. Toilet closed around 9pm and were open at 5.45am, clean and with hot water. And just £1 to stay overnight between 6pm and 8am. It was quiet after 9ish. This is definitely one to remember. Lovely place to visit and lots of nice eating places to choose from.

  • 5/5

On arrival at car park before height barrier turn left to access the 5 motorhome space, more space available to. Great spot to visit city. £3 per day, £1 per night. Quiet, felt very safe. Toilets, water and bins close by. Well done Bury St Edmunds Council, we wish more towns could provide facilities like yours!

  • 4/5

Enjoyed a few overnight stays. Excellent base for exploring Bury St Edmunds. Car park can be busy but usually quiet enough for a good sleep.

  • 5/5

Great spot to park up for a wander around the town. You can't beat £3 for all day.

  • 1/5

Unless this is the wrong postcode there are now height barriers on this car park

  • 5/5

An excellent location. Perfect as a base for a historic town visit and some decent cycling. If you are a van conversion owner, please do not use any of the 5 spaces as they are designed for motorhomes, there is lots of space in this fab facility; that way more of us can benefit. Water tap facility outside adjacent the gents toilet entrance.

  • 5/5

Fantastic place to stay lots of other van life people. felt really safe and quite a nice atmosphere

  • 5/5

Stayed here many times not the prettiest park up but ideal for visiting Bury St Eds. Overnight charge £1 until 8am, the £2.50 for 3 hours. Clean toilets and tap. Good pubs nearby. 5 dedicated motorhome places available.

  • 4/5

Two entrances to this car park: Address should be 8 Cotton Ln, Bury Saint Edmunds IP33 1XT,. Other entrance closed when we arrived Friday evening: opened Saturday morning! With only 5 places marked for motorhomes, it would be good if small campers didn’t use those places but used the regular places instead.

  • 4/5

Great place to stay, we went the Apex, just a short walk from the car park, quite and flat.

  • 5/5

5 spaces, get there early as they fill up, dead central, 5 minutes to Abbey Gardens. £3.00 all day then another £1.00 overnight

  • 4/5

Really good spot for visiting this lovely small town. Plenty of places to eat and drink, and pleasant gardens. £3 for all day parking and £1 for overnight from 6pm to 8am. Only problem during our visit was that the toilets were closed due to the Covid situation.

  • 4/5

Super place though not overnight for us this time. Def recommended for visiting B St E.

  • 4/5

Good spot for a night or two. Certainly not picturesque but very flat. Water tap on side of men’s toilet, make sure you’ve got a long hose though.

  • 4/5

A car park with actual marked out motor home only bays....... A very rare find!! £2.30 all day parking, £1 over night. No mention about 'no overnight sleeping'. Toilets, water tap and bins. Not the prettiest location but great for access to the town.

  • 4/5

Beware on a Wednesday and Saturday large Market lorries uses these spaces too. Fresh water tap outside Men's Toilet. cheap to park anll day. £1 overnight but didn't stay as noisy.

  • 5/5

Thanks everyone for directions arrived at 11.30 on Saturday morning 3 motor homes already here space for at least 2 more great location

  • 3/5

Car park with 4 Motorhome spaces, turn left before the height barriers. £1 for 6pm Sat till 10am Sun, bargain! Close to Town.

  • 5/5

Strangely quiet for a car park near the city. Very convenient to visit Bury and the lovely Abbey Gardens

  • 4/5

Great place to park and visit Bury, stayed a few times. Toilets ok, open early and close early! Outside tap working on this visit. Reasonably priced for a town centre location. 7 vans on a Thursday evening, only 2 at the weekend. Refuse bin rather full on this occasion.

  • 4/5

Great town centre stop - idea for sightseeing - toilets with hot water open 7.30ish to 6ish

  • 4/5

Stayed overnight cost £1:00 after 18:00 and £2.30 for all day parking until 18:00. Toilets were hit and miss being open with the gents out of order. Easy access to Bury St Edmunds

  • 4/5

Great stopover. Safe and convenient for town. Toilets open all night and very clean. 5 mins from shops and restaurants. Recycling collection van provided a noisy wake-up call at 6.30!

  • 4/5

£2.30 to park 0800–1800 add £1 to stay until 0800 the next day. Ideal for exploring city centre but noise from nearby A14 and bottle bank! No facilities.

  • 5/5

Passé 2 nuits sans souci. Des toilettes ouvertes dans la journée. De l'eau à l'extérieur des toilettes. Ville très jolie et agréable

  • 4/5

Great location and toilets are fine, although the outside water tap wasn't turned on as of 13.03.18.
