Stayed here last night (storm David) was sheltered enough and yeah one of the best park ups I’ve been to - I’ll certainly be back, also more or less full phone signal (4g) on O2 tricky drive if you come in from the west..wouldn’t be so bad from the east..
Lovely place for stargazing. Pitch black during the night. Surrounded by trees so gives some privacy. Not directly by the road, however the road is quiet during night and day. We stayed one night on the way to Scotland. Beautiful please leave no trace.
I went here to park up on 11th September 2024. There was a caravan parked up, lots of junk outside of it, dirty & old and no towing car. Looked occupied as there was a hooked up gas bottle. Looked very dodgy & didn’t feel comfortable staying so left straight away. The roads leading up to this can be steep in places and narrow aswell.
Absolutely no one around, silent apart from the odd passing car - even then a rarity. Stayed for one night, in the morning a kind local walking their dog offered directions to the nearest trails (less than a minute down the road). Dog owners, beware: ticks were aplenty! Spray your dogs before and have a tick pick ready just in case.
Super ruhig, mehrer Möglichkeiten sich auf dem Platz hinzustellen. Man kann sich in den Büschen gut vor der Straße "verstecken". Auch bei schlechtem Wetter möglich. Internet war eher schlecht.
Brilliant location lovely and peaceful no other vans on a bank holiday ? On our way to Isle of Skye but in no rush 20mile off m6/m74 on the border ?????????????????? absolutely pitch black star gazers heaven
if you enjoy piece and quiet, dark sky's ( when possible ) and don't mind not having too much of a view from the van ( they are a short walk away ) then yes, this is the spot. 3 bars 4g is good enough to catch up on face book/news etc... 7.5m Motorhome fitted in just fine, loads of room with hard standing.
10/10 location. Very out of the way and no traffic what so ever. We were here alone and it was beautiful. Only a 10 minute drive to nearest town in Scotland!
A lovely peaceful spot, but if you're planning on going between May and September, beware the midges!! They could give the Scottish ones a run for their money!
Just off the beaten track… I eventually found this little spot and drove down the side track to the dead end and parked up. Just enough room for a motor home (if ok to reverse in or back up to get out). Good space for 3/4 vehicles and very quiet. No trouble or anyone asking what I was up to. I stayed 1 night.
Beautiful place, stunning walks nearby if you take the forest trails. Was lovely and quiet. We stayed here two nights, another camper joined us on the second night, overall lovely and peaceful.
Incredibly secluded spot, slept really well. Beautiful drive up here but prepare for hills and some narrow roads. Great place to stopover before heading to Kielder Forest for the day (really cloudy so no point paying to stay in a car park there as no stars could be seen). Handy one night stop

Parked here for a break. Was here for a total of 3 hours and didn’t see one other vehicle pass. Very peaceful.
