Great free overnight layby stop with lovely views. Occasional speeding traffic made a bit of disturbance but got less as night fell. Several other vans in the layby but apart from a quick alarm going off it was a peaceful night. Will be staying here again.
Stopping for 2h for lunch and rest. stunning view. we aren't bothered by traffic. it's just so nice to be able to stop for free at this stop overlooking the lake for a short romantic break. Parking our 7m without a problem. its not a very long lay by but a car fits Infront of us and one behind and there was more space for one or two more or another van. it's August now. Warm, sunny. Perfect
stayed for the night and this has been a really noisy stop lots of cars and lorry's on the road and even cars beeping in the early hours as campers were parked up. not the only ones parked here another 4 vehicle's. View is beautiful but would not stop here if road noise disturbs you.

A bit of road noise every so often as it is a lay-by on the road, but it isn’t a major road so not very busy really and goes quite into the night.
Lovely views as it is high up so you can see Lake Windermere.
Peaceful night so would use again.

It's 2am. The silence is remarkable. Very few cars, a bit of rocking, but no bother (for me at least).
The newly built house is something to behold!
Remarkable lake view, which must be stunning in the summer.
Great Internet on mobile and router.
Free, spacious, no stress.

Very pretty view, currently building a housing in down the hill which taints it slightly. The sleep was okay, only the occasional fast car drove past through the night. Parked there 8pm until 7am.
Excellent spot with great views . Also perfect for getting down to The Lake for a swim. Public toilets a few minutes walk away . Stayed 1 night and just us parked up . Traffic quiet at night .
Stayed here for one night. Views are amazing. only downside is road was very busy when we stayed and a lot of fast traffic, van was rocked a few times (midweek night if it makers any difference on busyness). A couple of flat-ish spots but overall not too bad.
Great lay-by with room 8-10 vans/cars. Very quiet when we stayed and public toilets just a few meters up road at pay and display car park. Very close to the lake so access is really easy.
Fantastic view!! very happy we stopped here, was little worried with 2 houses below, but had no trouble. very large lay-by. only thing is that the cars go very fast down this road, shook the van each time. we came with a dog and kept her tied to van, would not bring children due to very busy road. we stayed here from 9pm - 10am, lush to wake up to the lake view.
Nice location, it’s a layby at the side of the road- easy to find and easy to park- enough room for roughly 4 vans to park up. Road is fairly quiet and the view is lovely. No access to walk to lake but good for somewhere to sleep. No facilities etc but it’s free to park with a nice lake view and no visable restrictions on parking
