Lovely view of the Mountains and burn, good place to stop on the way to Inverness, and not too cold in March! Wasn’t bothered by the road noise.
Bel endroit, à côté de l'A9 mais la route est relativement calme la nuit. Bonne 3G, beaucoup d'espace et une vue imprenable. Geal-charn vaut bien la montée pour le coucher du soleil et j'attends aussi le lever du soleil.
Beautiful spot, next to A9 however but road is relatively quiet at night. Good 3G , plenty of space and stunning views. Geal-charn is well worth the climb for sunset and I expect sunrise too.
Schöner Ort, neben der A9, aber die Straße ist nachts relativ ruhig. Gutes 3G, viel Platz und eine atemberaubende Aussicht. Geal-charn ist den Aufstieg zum Sonnenuntergang wert und ich erwarte auch den Sonnenaufgang.
Bonito lugar, al lado de la A9 pero la carretera es relativamente tranquila por la noche. Buen 3G, mucho espacio y vistas impresionantes. Vale la pena subir a Geal-charn para ver el atardecer y también estoy esperando el amanecer.
Bel posto, vicino alla A9 ma la strada è relativamente tranquilla di notte. Buon 3G, molto spazio e viste mozzafiato. Geal-charn merita la salita per il tramonto e sto anche aspettando l'alba.
Leuke plek, naast de A9 maar de weg is 's nachts relatief rustig. Goede 3G, veel ruimte en prachtig uitzicht. Geal-charn is de klim zeker waard voor zonsondergang en ik wacht ook op zonsopgang.

iancorb25/10/2025Decent place to stop for a night on route to Skye. Was wee bit windy not too bad and road noise never bothered us. One other van on a Friday in October and woke up to snow caps on the mountains

Lovely little spot for the night. Just off the road… occasionally train or car in the evening. But never woke us up. Great views and good signal.

Parking en contre bas de l’autoroute parfait pour une nuit malgré le bruit de la route en début de soirée. Nous étions deux vans cette nuit.

Great for an overnight stay after long trip. Did not hear any train sounds and the noise from the road did not bother us during the night. The parking area is pretty big and flat.

Please do not hog this car parking space. If there are not sufficient spaces for hillwalkers to park in the morning then please go elsewhere . This car park has been in use for decades for access to the Drumochter hills to the west. There are other spots nearby.

The road can be loud at times. Not very well protected from the wind, we had gusts of 65mph. Other than that I’d stay here again. I suspect it will be very busy in summer months.

Wunderschöner Platz, tolle Aussicht und ein sehr malerischer Fluss direkt daneben. B&B waren wir zwar nicht, ist aber direkt nebenan. Straßenlärm ist das einzige was man ertragen muss.

The traffic noise is EVERY BIT worth the views in this parking lot. It is NOT a lay by on the road, it's next to a B&B. Just stunning. Thistle, Rosebay, Heather, bees a buzzing everywhere. Didn't hear a train last night, which we were slightly disappointed about, we love the sound of trains. Traffic noise was not a bother enough to keep us up, we put our Kindle on and drowned it out even the open

Spent the night, not sure where people say there is light noise as you have the train and the constant Lorries all night. midges are a problem with no wind in summer. Maybe quieter if you don’t have a pop top

Lovely place to wild camp for the night! Beautiful scenery, set back from the road. Light noise from cars/lorry’s, but that didn’t bother us. Did hear a few trains go past. Good 4G signal on O2.

A beautiful place to wake up at! Fairly level, no facilities. We stayed here on our way to the NC500. A peaceful night, light noise from the main road but didn’t bother us. A few other people parked up.

A handy spot to park up next to the A9. Flat, gravelled area. Road noise during the day but quiet at night. Quite exposed to the wind. Gets busy with hill walkers arriving in the morning.

Great spot for a stop over en-rte to aviemore etc. we arrived after a big drive from the south. Flat area, 4GEE signal. No fasciitis’s at all. Simply a flat car park. Great views but a little noise form the road. Very very wind in the night, the wind seemed to wipe down the valley and through the park up. No the fault of the park up but one to bear in mind if you know weather is coming.
