Beautiful park up, busy during the day with walkers and climbers, but at night it was lovely and quiet and pitch black… until the wind started. On the night I stayed it was particularly windy everywhere but this became a wind tunnel through the mountains, even blowing my skylight open. So much so I had to move around 4am which was a shame. Go on a non windy night and you’ll be fine.

Stayed here for 2 nights great place to stop. Views are excellent great hikes and popular with vans and car campers. No bins but also no rubbish so please respect the area and keep it that way. Also a cafe and public toilets 15 minutes walk from here

I lost count of the vans here overnight, pretty much every single space. I guess next year the council will be blocking us. I am a culprit, I was here. no bins, no toilets, I hope we are all using our own on board toilets. I haven't seen any rubbish so hopefully it will stay that way. I guess it's June and a Saturday hence all the vehicles overnight

parked here for a few days whilst out walking. it's quiet at night. it's set back away from the road so not much noise. I was here during the week and I am gyessing woukd be very busy at weekends.

Level parking stop in close proximity to the start of the walking trails. This is located approx 1km from the start of Llyn Idwal walking trail where there are toilets at the visitor centre. Clean area right on the lake. Very windy

Amazing view... But slopey where I'd parked but only a 10 min walk to Ogwen and the start of some of the trails I wanted to walk.

Great spot for the night. Reception with EE was great. Free, and other campers. Safe.

Ich kann den anderen Kommentaren nur zustimmen, mit Ausnahme vom Handyempfang. Dieser war bei mir gut! Evtl. Provider abhängig oder das Netz wurde ausgebaut. :)

Very little signal here, but great for day parking surrounding area hikes, imagine overnight no problem!

Wir standen mit einigen weiteren Vans/WoMos dort. Kamen an einem Sonntag um 19 Uhr an und haben noch locker einen Platz bekommen. Die Landschaft ist raus und wunderschön. Nachts tatsächlich sehr ruhig, da die Straße dann kaum befahren wird. Internetempfang nur sehr eingeschränkt.

We had a nice stay here. There were many other motorhomes but it was absolutely quite during the night. Beautiful view and a great opportunity to walk the dog just opposite the road. We definitely come back!

Great views very busy so get in early we moved from our first spot to further up this lay by because it's smelt really bad of urine apart from that pretty quiet at night and great location to walk tryfan

Safe and beautiful spot for the night. Quite popular amongst fellow campers and vans but really respectful and clean. Would definitely recommend!

Great location for walking and hiking. The parking is very busy during the day but at night it's okay. There are another three or four free parkings very close to each other by the lake on the same road so plenty of parking space for everyone. I would recommend arriving early in the morning or late afternoon to get a place.

Good little parkup, some road noise but it calms down during the night. Amazing view of the lake, definitely recommend.

I’ve stayed here a few times now when I’ve visited North Wales. No Facilities but an ideal place to park up for a good night sleep. Some Road Noise as you’d expect but after 10/11pm it’s very quiet. Keep it clean and tidy and leave no trace. 2 min drive down the road is the Ogwen Valley Information Centre and that has a toilet but not sure if it’s 24 hours but definitely open during the day

hab hier eine gute nacht nach einer wanderung verbracht. ja, an der viel befahrenen straße aber gut vom verkehr geschützt, nachts ruhig und kostenlos! an einem sonnigen sonntag habe ich rund um den see keinen parkplatz bekommen, aber an einem bedeckten/regnerischen wochentag kein problem. es waren 5-6 andere camper über nacht da.

Left car here over night and wild camped next to Llyn Idwal lake. Great spot and came across no issues during my stay. Would recommend.

Great spot. Was pretty quiet all night other than the odd noisy car. Cracking views too.

great location beside the lake, with fantastic hikes in the area, fairly quiet at night with some traffic, fills up quickly in the morning with hikers. fairly level parking.

Parking area next to the lake. Reasonably level. Quiet during the night but gets busy in the morning with walkers and climbers. Can be quite windy here as the wind is funneled up the valley from the coast. We slept well.

jolie vue. absolument aucun réseau téléphonique ni internet. Pas mal de circulation la nuit et des gens qui klaxonnent à 4h du matin. on a très mal dormi

Empfehlenswerter Parkplatz neben Llyn Ogwen. Perfekt für den Start auf sämtliche Wander- & Rundwege. Kleiner Wasserfall "Little Falls" ebenfalls in der Nähe. Direkter Blick auf See und Landschaft. Einzigster Parkplatz dort auf dem nicht explizit das Übernachten verboten wird. In der Nacht sehr ruhig außer hier und da Straßengeräusche. Morgens sehr schöne Aussicht.

Buen sitio para aparcar y hacer una ruta por los lagos. Pasamos una noche en autocaravana. Hacia demasiado viento y se movía mucho y el tráfico se oía bastante. Algunos graciosos tocaron el claxon a primera hora de la mañana.

nachts zum Teil noch Verkehr, ab morgens bei schönem Wetter füllt sich der Platz sehr schnell mit Wanderern viele Parkplätze vorhanden mit einem herrlichen Blick auf den See und die Berge

parked up alone at 18.00 and around 22.00 there were many more vans around me also camping. beautiful view, quiet. in the morning there were workmen in vans parked up but had no trouble from them.

Stayed here last night after not being able to camp at gwern gof isaf up the road as it was closed. Brilliant little spot at the foot of Tryfan, really quiet after 8pm. Few people staying the night too! No phone signal.

This lay-by is on the eastbound A5, heading towards Capel Curig and is about 200 metres west of the start of the Tryfan North Ridge path.

Lovely views next to the lake. Road can be a bit noisy. One joker driving past at 5am blasted their horn all the way past the lay-by!!

Great views, quiet when we got there later on. coffee stall 5 minutes away with toilets.

Reasonable stop, road quiet during the night. Wasn't busy just a handful staying over. While we were there a group went for a swim in the lake and slept out on the pavement. Safe spot.

Parked right next to the lake in the new car park, Very busy until around 6pm then it`s campers turning up! Got a good nights sleep with a view!

Lovely views, we stopped for a night few weeks ago, good new surface, was other campers and lorrys when we stopped, like others said can get busy in morning, but was quiet overnight, good place to start walks, no sign for no overnight parking, like others just down the road.

Good park up for Tryfan mountain. Great location no phone signal beautiful views and amazing scenery. We parked across the front over looking the view however it was on a slight slope. 3 other vans on a Thursday night no issues.

A fabulous spot to park up at with beautiful views of Llyn Ogwen. The layby has recently been resurfaced - bays are marked up and it is very flat and there is a one way system in operation to drive through. The A5 starts to get traffic at around 6am but as the layby is set back a bit it felt very safe.
