Great park up and right near the town and a very short walk to all that Skipton has to offer. Had no problems and the car park quietened down in the evenings. The parking machine only allows you to pick a Motorhome ticket after 6pm but any daytime time you have left rolls over to the next day. A big thumbs up from me and I will definitely be back.

  • 5/5

As all other reviews great spot well done Skipton council. Let’s keep this one don’t abuse it, Skipton is a lovely town plenty of shops, restaurants and bars with live music..

  • 5/5

Arrived Thursday afternoon and all green bays were full therefore we parked in a normal bay reversing up to the metal railings which allowed our rear end to overhang onto the grass. it does state no overnight parking unless you're in a Green bay, but I feel this is overlooked as long as you pay the £6 overnight fee. We stayed 3 nights purchasing a weekly ticket for £18 then £6 for each overnight.

  • 5/5

Thank you Skipton a wonderful spot and a quiet night town great and toilets in car park please do not spoil it take your waste home

  • 3/5

Instructions poor and easy to make an innocent mistake, especially if you arrive when it’s dark . Green spaces allocated to overnight parking are at the far end . Yellow information button or circular arrow ( depending on which machine you use ) allows you to select motorhome. Motorhome setting is only for overnight. October 24 price is now £6 overnight. 8 overnight vans here last night.

  • 4/5

Great park up for one night. Large central car park within close walking distance to shops, restaurants and pubs. Next to the canal. Quiet night and felt very safe here with several other motorhomes. Public toilets available during the day.

  • 4/5

Stayed here last night, very quiet. There are only 3 or 4 marked campervan spaces. There were about 7 other vans here too. We had to use a normal space, as did 3 others. Could really do with more marked camper spaces. Still £6 for overnight stay. Toilets here too. They were clean and tidy.

  • 5/5

Excellent P4N, managed to get a green bay and parked for a few hours while we walked around town then spent the night in the car park. Very quiet and great location. To pay for overnight you must press the yellow button. Toilets open until around 6pm. Plenty of spaces to park up even if not green bays its no problem.

  • 4/5

We stayed a night lots and lots of vans there - paid for two parking spaces so £12 on the most confusing parking machine. We left before 8am and moved to Tesco car park round the corner to grab breakfast. it's fine I think you'd have to get there very early doors to get a motorhome spot especially in Summer. only marked down for the confusing machine and very early bins being emptied wake up call.

  • 5/5

Arrived here on Saturday (24/08), to find lots more than 5 vans already parked up. A local informed us it's okay as long as you pay for as many parking bays as you use. I used 2 bays, so £12 overnight. Took a short walk into Skipton, returned and slept really well. Has bins and cleaned toilets available.

  • 4/5

Great location for a night in Skipton. Let down sometimes by inconsiderate parking by the larger motorhomes. £6 for the night which can only be paid for after 6pm. Perfect phone signal. Recommended.

  • 3/5

  • 4/5

Important... only 5 designated motor home/campervan parking spaces. Option of paying for 2 bays is no longer an option on the signs. 1st night, bays were full, came back next day around 10am. Paid day rate and at 6pm paid overnight fee (Press yellow button twice then green button) Quiet, toilets open 9am to 6pm. Fantastic canal walk out of Skipton towards the castle. Highly recommend!

  • 4/5

Great place to stay, really close to town and many pubs and reastaurants. There are 5 designated spaces for overnight stays. Cost is £6 from 6pm until 9am. Need to pay day charges if arrive early and can't get overnight ticket until 6pm. Very clearly says must stay in designated spaces overnight but 9 other vans in car park tonight not in designated spaces

  • 5/5

Local council to be congratulated for providing this service. Stopped for one mid week night and had a great time visiting this delightful town with many small shops and Indipendent businesses. Found a gem - If you like pubs you will love The Beer Engine who serve all kinds of Indipendent beers, we will be back.

  • 5/5

Stayed over NYE, 30 plus vans and motorhomes extreemly quiet loads of pubs and bars shops and super markets close by £5.50 for all day parking and £5 overnight one small niggle you can’t pay for night parking before 6mp so if you head out for the evening before that you have to return to pay. (I could not find the option but may be wrong)

  • 5/5

Great stop over, we ended up staying 2 nights in the end. Toilets were really clean and super close to town, 20+ other vans both nights but still really quiet and peaceful. Would absolutely stay again

  • 5/5

hi, we are on this park up today. we have spoken to the traffic warden who has assured us motorhome parking is allowed in any bay, not just green bays. also if your wheels are fitting in 1 bay, even if you have van overhang you only pay for 1 space. great place to stay.

  • 4/5

Great location, with a few dedicated M/H spaces, but plenty of others using car parking spaces. Stayed fri/sat in November with about 25+ others. Quiet, level, toilets open daytime. Skipton is nice to visit and terrific for real ale pubs, literally dozens of them all within 10 mins from car park.

  • 4/5

Great location for Skipton and reasonable price (£5 overnight) for a Council car park, although only 5 motorhome spaces now! Public toilets clean with disabled toilet available 24/7 if you have a key.

  • 4/5

Very good park-up and Skipton is great for a visit - 2 minutes walk to the high street and loads of options for bars, restaurants and shops. Lovely chippy nearby too. Car park is pretty flat and is a very popular park-up, with at least 30 vans when we visited. Most treated the park-up with respect, though there was the usual camper with the tables and chairs out in the adjoining bay. Ho hum.

  • 5/5

Arrived about 15.45 bought a all nite ticket £5.50 takes us upto 15.45 the following afternoon, we parked against fence so didn’t take up more than one bay. ( we have a LWB) if in two bays need two tickets. Very quite, can just hear river running its great. 2 minutes walk into town and to the cable where you can go up canal in a barge for £4 each.

  • 4/5

Great place to park up overnight. Felt safe and there were lots of other campervans there. Would be good if the toilets were open later than 6pm.

  • 5/5

What a great spot, right in the centre of Skipton. Great atmosphere, there must’ve been 30 vans staying overnight and all were nice and quiet apart from our neighbours having a domestic outside their van on returning from the pub! It won’t put us off staying here again though, it was spot on. Our £5.50 overnight ticket took us from 6pm Saturday until 9am Monday. Bargain!

  • 5/5

Fab spot!. Arrived at 13:30 and got the last of 5 spots. Instructions for tickets were a bit complicated but we bought one costing £5:50 to take us to 18:00 (but actually covers us to 13:30 the following day) then at 18:00 went to buy the other ticket to cover us overnight. Watch out for the driving instructors and their pupils driving round the car park. Anyway, great spot and very peaceful.

  • 5/5

Well done and thank you to Skipton. great location quiet and £15.00 for seven days parking 24/7.

  • 5/5

The charges are a little confusing, we have been here several times but great credit to the local council for marking out MH bays. If they were even more savvy they could repaint some more bays for us and make a killing on proper charges for 24hr stays. But we always say that !, there’s never enough spaces is there ?

  • 5/5

Just like everyone said: very good place for motorhomes. Only 5 places for motorhomes stay for overnight green marked areas. Toilets close in evening and open again in the morning. Just meters from town centre. Thank you, Skipton Council! Recommended!

  • 5/5

Excellent place to stay - close to the town ideal parking - no night noise - there was over 25 camper-vans on bank holiday Sunday! Overnight parking is £5 from 6pm - 9am! Note you can only pay for overnight parking at 6pm. Definitely worth it! The ‘green’ designated camper bays were full so we just parked in a normal car spot along with everyone else :) Well done Skipton council!

  • 3/5

We arrived 1pm. Paid £5.50 for day parking then £5 for overnight. Yes, it’s a good location but with no facilities it seemed a tad expensive for not even 24 hours.

  • 5/5

    Amazing! Fab place to stay.

  • 5/5

On a cold Saturday night, us and 25 other vans spent the night here, really quite a perfect base for Skipton, as other said if you take up two bays make sure you pay for both

  • 5/5

So you can park overnight outwith the three motorhome bays but if your van goes across two then you have to pay twice and I would pay as we have seen warden and quite rightly she has issued tickets . Great location for the town Friday night 25th Nov was amazing all well behaved but last night some owners clearly been pub with their mates then proceeded to put music on after 11.30pm selfish !

  • 5/5

Fantastic park up! Unfortunately a lady from the council came round and was telling everyone in vans that they couldn't stay unless they were parked in one of the motorhome bays. Frustrating when we arrived one of the bays was empty but we hadn't parked in it as we are in a small campervan and didn't like taking such a big space up when we didn't need it.

  • 5/5

Well done Skipton, great to see a council providing motorhome parking. If only other towns would follow your lead. There must be 25 motorhomes here tonight, what a great additional income for the local council.

  • 5/5

what can I say, huray to Skipton, you have got it right 5 stars.

  • 5/5

Great place to stop right in the middle of town. Nice and quiet paid £5.50 for 24 hours and toilets were free. About 5 bays marked out at the back of the car park for motorhomes. Plenty of room for vans. No height restrictions.

  • 5/5

This is a real gem of a spot and we're very lucky the council are happy for motorhomes of all sizes to stay. As everyone says please pay for 2 spaces if you can't get in a motorhome bay, it doesn't seem to be a problem but I plead anyone in a short van or camper that can fit in a normal space, please don't take up the large motorhome bays as it causes big vans to pay double.

  • 5/5

stayed there last night. plenty going off in Skipton centre. just a plea though that people using the car park go to the ticket box before you retire for the night to get a camping ticket. these are only available after a certain time after the main car park hours have ended. you should end up with 2 tickets if you're using the day parking. relatively flat and spacious enough for many campers.

  • 5/5

Great place to stay for Motorhomes! 5 designated spaces, quiet and close to shops and pubs. £5.50pn - we stayed for one night.

  • 5/5

Always a nice stopover to have s meal and a drink with no worries about getting back to the van. We stopped for two nights this week and was surprised to see over a dozen vans parked up overnight. The rules state overnighting only in the five designated spaces and I worry that this great spot might be lost, especially as someone even had their table and chairs out this morning.

  • 5/5

Perfect location for visiting Skipton. We had a great day in Skipton and can recommend 30 minutes boat ride for 4 pounds and a burger at The Cock and Bottle Restaurant. Also the castle is in really good condition. We paid 5.50 pounds for 24h parking, since the machine is still half broken and doesn't allow the motorhome option.

  • 5/5

Perfect parking for staying one night in Skipton. Location was ideal and carpark was very quiet for time of year. Plenty of room and facilities open during day.

  • 4/5

Very good town centre car park. We arrived Sunday afternoon and the maximum charge was £5.50 so that’s what we paid. As it’s January it’s quiet, we’ll come again for sure.

  • 4/5

lovely spot glad we decided to park here for the night. took the dogs for a walk then over the bridge to the boathouse pub. it was extremely busy but a nice pint at the side of the canal. car park seems really popular with campers . we will return.

  • 5/5

It's the first time we've stayed in a car park, so we were a bit apprehensive, especially when we saw quite a few large Motorhomes already there. Was it going to be noisy, was there going to be boy racers until late? We need not have worried. It was an excellent stay. Quiet and only paid £5 for the night. Toilets on site, but closed at 5 due to it being a Bank Holiday, opened around 9 am.

  • 5/5

spot on, skipton has everything and this little gem is right in the middle of it .All for a fiver for 24 hours .toilets and bins on site .pubs and restaurants all around the place. market was also on today ( Tuesday )

  • 5/5

Large carpark £5 per night toilets locked 730am we stayed at the far end of the car park till 0700hrs them moved to the top end beside the bridge for a shorter walk into town right next to the canal on arrival I put my card in the parking machine and started pressing buttons and got a parking ticket out from Friday night untill Sunday morning. how that happened I don't know £9 no complaints tho

  • 5/5

Stayed here last night. Very quiet but right in the middle of Skipton. Arrived about 5.30 and had pick of spaces but chose not to park in a designated spot as under trees. Parked over 2 spaces so needed to get two tickets. Charge is £5 overnight but pay £5.50 and get full 24h from arrival. Very busy next morning when we left so get there early on or wait til evening. Great spot in centre of town.
