Beautiful spot by the beach. White sands and fairly flat grass. £15 per night but definitely worth every penny. Bumpy road but don’t be put off. Picnic benches, and water available.

  • 5/5

Beautiful views all around and lovely calm sound of the sea. Plenty of flat space, but also a few locals visit the beach so remember that when picking a space to park. Sounds like they are planning to add to this spot over the next few years (planned bathroom block etc) so make sure you pay your fee to the honesty box

  • 4/5

Good stop. Very popular with a fair few vans/tents but had a good evening.

  • 5/5

I'm with the last post regarding a rocky/bumpy access. Just take it easy. The site is worth it.

  • 5/5

As others have said bumpy road but it’s fine if taken slow £15 per night fantastic views, wonderful beach, looking forward to the sunset. Bank transfer details so no excuse not to pay. Please do, so this area is continued

  • 5/5

Loved this! £15 honesty box donation, has bins and water. Amazing view of the beach wherever you park, lots of space and mostly even ground but if it's busy may need levelling blocks. Road coming up is unmade and bumpy but go slow and you'll be fine. Lots of rabbits on the dunes so be careful with dogs. If you stay please pay to keep this spot open!

  • 4/5

  • 4/5

Location, location....but the drive up is quite long and bumpy, great in a 4x4. But take it slow and it's ok. There were some big motorhomes up there also so it is doable.... and definitely worth it for the beaches and views and sunsets. So peaceful just fall asleep to the sound of the waves unless of course the midges come out and you have to lock yourselves away!!

  • 5/5

  • 5/5

lovely spot with easy beach access and beaches on both sides of the headland. If you drive to the end there are several flat areas to park, but the track is a bit rough. The increase to £15 doesn't seem to have put people off - thanks to the owners for providing this area.

  • 5/5

This has to be in my top 5 stop offs! We are an 8m Bailey and managed the rugged track up the hill. Outstanding beach with acres of flat sand at low tide directly accessible. Good for kayaking and kite surfing Lots of birds (Lapwing, oystercatchers, whimbrels, teens, eagles and more) and free ranging sheep. Beautiful sunset. Friendly farmer. About 12 vans when we were there.

  • 3/5

Nice spot on a cracking beach and stunning views, but the increase to £15 per night is quite frankly just greedy. Water available but bins removed. On a slope, the odd level spot if not busy. I stayed to walk on the beach then left, £10 is more than enough for an overnight stay on a patch of grass. Also got some disgusted looks from both sets of locals I crossed. Road in bumpy but ok going slow.

  • 5/5

fantastic location, just off the stunning beach and beautiful views. Water working and honesty box, £15 per night, well worth it. Thanks to the landowners for sharing is this lovely spot. plenty of space but some may require levellers.

  • 5/5

Great stop overlooking the beach, £10 in honesty box and fresh water available. No bin when we stayed but not an issue for us. Track is a little challenging but managed in a coach built motorhome. Thanks for the opportunity to park in a great location.

  • 5/5

One of our most memorable stays on a 2 week trip up the outer Hebrides. Just stunning … not sure why the description says deep rutted track … we made it easy in our VW crafter 7m - just take it steady … worth it I promise !

  • 5/5

    Superb, beautiful wow factor

  • 5/5

lovely spot. bin and water available. it was really windy overnight. great views. steep and rocky but worth the visit.

  • 5/5

Great park up overlooking the Atlantic with easy access to the beach. Donation of £10 a night and fresh water is available to refill tanks.

  • 5/5

My favourite camping spot (stayed 2 night) and had a front row seat to watch the kite surfers. it's a large site and can accommodate a lot of vehicles . only 3 campers were there when we stayed. The beach to the left is quite possibly the most beautiful beach I've seen.

  • 5/5

We didn’t stay overnight at Clachan Sands, only for a lunch park up, but it was a stunning spot and would’ve been great for a night. Fresh water tap and bin provided. Gorgeous white sand beach with crystal clear blue waters.

  • 5/5

One of the best spot ever! There is water “for free” and the grass is always cutted, there are tables for picnic and the access to the beach is just in front of you, the view is amazing! The owner just putted a honesty box for the service!

  • 5/5

Amazing site with a stunning view patchy 4G on three and good service with O2

  • 5/5

Bumpy track but easily accessible if you take your time. views to die for

  • 5/5

Absolutely stunning spot. Bumpy sandy road to get there. Beautiful white sand beach. Water point. £10 per night honesty box…. Please make sure you pay folks to keep these places open

  • 5/5

Stayed for 2 nights. Wonderful spot on the beach. £10 honesty box, water tap, bin. Only few spots in level, many people sta more nights in a row and don’t even leave their spot, so dont be dissapointed if you don’t have a beach view from your vehicle. Beautiful sunsets when weather permits. Very weak 3/4G reception. Recommended.

  • 5/5

Stayed here overnight in April with about 10 other vans. Never stayed in such a beautiful place. £10 honesty box for donations. Fresh water supplied and bins.

  • 5/5

The place is superb, however, a group of 6 kite surfers turned up, loud music, and running generator till late. No consideration for others or the beautiful quiet place they are in.

  • 5/5

Clachan Sands was our favourite spot in the entire Outer Hebrides - it’s stunning! Caught the amazing weather which helps of course. Slightly bumpy last section of track but not bad. Keep going right to end for lots of space overlooking one beach and the other is over the hill. Had a wonderful swim and paddle board. Water and bin plus 2 picnic benches. Please give the £10 donation!

  • 5/5

great view, very nice chilled environment with a bin, tap and honesty box. easy access to the beach for a swim. some spots aren't level but you're right on the ocean so what can you expect. honesty box emptied and bins checked while we were there.

  • 5/5

One of the most amazing informal campsites you’ll ever see. Free water. £10 per night in the honesty box. Good 4g coverage. Nearest toilet disposal is at the ferry ports in Berneray and Lochmaddy. The most unbelievably white sand beach with machair landscape. Only suitable for self contained Mh due to lack of toilets. The track is bumpy and rutted but perfectly doable (6.5m mh).

  • 5/5

Such a beautiful place! Plenty of space, when we were there there were about 10 vans/cars and it was so quiet and idyllic. We went to sleep and woke up hearing the waves and terns. Loved it.

  • 5/5

Lots of space next to gorgeous beaches with clear shallow water. Bin and water available. Honesty box suggested £10 per night. We stayed for 2 nights in glorious weather but even so, the wind got up a few times.

  • 5/5

TRAUMHAFT!!!

  • 5/5

Incredible spot, the views are to die for! Bumpy road in, but manageable. £10 donation in an honesty box. Working fresh water tap today (28/8) and bin.

  • 5/5

Beautiful spot overlooking the Clachan Sands beach. Lots of space for a number of vans. Honesty box for donations recommended. There was no fresh water available though. Great for early ferry to Harris and there is a waste disposal point at the terminal too.

  • 5/5

Fabulous spot for an overnight. Track down is a bit bumpy but nothing to worry about for a smaller van. Lots of choice for spots and good value at £10 (honesty box). Very quiet and handy for early ferry to Harris.

  • 5/5

Great facilities - fresh water, bins and fairly near the chemical disposal at the harbour. You can get plenty of spots right by the beach. Site asks for donations.

  • 5/5

Gorgeous, quiet place. There are more spots up to the left, some of them fairly level. Stunning sunsets possible, with the sun setting over the sea between the islands in late May.

  • 5/5

Hier wird genügend Platz geboten, wir waren für eine Nacht hier. Der Weg ist, sofern man langsam fährt, gut zu bewältigen und dafür bekommt man einen tollen Blick auf das Meer geboten

  • 5/5

    Super viel Platz, wunderschöne Aussicht!

  • 5/5

Amazing spot, plenty of space and fresh water as well. 10/10

  • 5/5

Fabulous spot with plenty of room for motorhomes and campervans. View of the beautiful beach with good access. Once the road ends follow the track up a sheepish climb and drop down onto the parking area. Water and bin supplied, picnic tables all for £10 in the honesty box. One of the best stop overs!

  • 4/5

Road in isn't too bad if tackled slowly. Gorgeous beaches await you. Drinking water and honesty box there.

  • 5/5

Beautiful spot. Beaches are absolutely stunning. Difficult road to drive down but definitely worth it. Honesty box (£10) and fresh eggs to buy as well as running water.

  • 4/5

Superb beautiful location, wasn’t too crowed when we stayed (about 6 other vehicles). Honesty box £10 per night and you can also get fresh eggs there also using honest box. No toilets but there is a fresh water tap. Great for a night but beware of the midgies! No 3 or 4G and no phone signal on Three but a little on Vodafone.

  • 5/5

One of the best park ups on the Uists. Just stunning! I have 4G on EE here. Great to have water and a bin. Pls please don’t pop in the dunes and leave it. Such a shame to see loo roll etc from previous campers. There is a bin so bag it and put it in the bin.

  • 5/5

Lovely spot. track was fine for us. at least 10 vans and does not feel atall crowded. great for sunsets on the beach.

  • 5/5

Really nice spot and lovely beach. 4G signal not too great here.

  • 5/5

Best site location I've ever visited and a must for anyone staying on the Isle. stunning beaches!

  • 5/5

Gorgeous - only two other vans and lots of space to be separated. Super quiet with no houses around! £10 payable by honesty box

  • 5/5

Stunning vista. Two amazing white sand beaches. One in front if camp area is shallow and warm. Tap and short hose. One large bin, but very popular site, could do with a second, or empty more often. Worth the stony track, and payment.

  • 5/5

Absolutely stunning spot! The way there is quite rocky but absolutely worth it. No toilets or showers but there’s tap water and picnic tables. Will definitely come back if around!

  • 5/5

A great spot to stay, lovely view of the beach! Agree with most other comments but feel area is comfortably suitable for 10 motorhomes, many more would be a squeeze, not mostly flat at all! Also nice there’s a bin and running water, recommended!

  • 4/5

Lovely spot with great views, windy night but a peaceful area, with access to the beach below down from the rocks, water tap, no phone signal, £10 honest box.

  • 5/5

Perfect place for overnight parking and camping with beautiful views and beach access. Plenty of space (enough for around 20 pitches) and mostly flat. Tap with running cold water and a bin are the only amenities. Honesty box is £10 per night which people are encouraged to use. Ideal place for some stargazing!

  • 4/5

Fantastic views shame there’s no 3G/4G but what a spectacular beach

  • 5/5

Clachan Sands Camping Spot has several flat spaces for motorhomes. There is a water tap for refilling and a small honesty box asking for £10 to stay the night - lovely spot overlooking an amazing white sandy beach.

  • 5/5

Der absolute Traumstrand. Die Aussicht ist herrlich. Halb wildes campen. Wir blieben drei Nächte.
