Thank you for sharing this place. So delighted to stop for the night and find ourselves right on the slipway with uninterrupted views of the Kyles of Bute. Flat, concreted area and nothing to spoil our view and we’re not near a main road. Wonderful drive from Loch Lomond to here and I’ll post photos once we are organised.

nice quiet flat paved parking area with marked motorhome bays...good views and good 4G

Visited early September 2025, ideal for our coastal walk. Large space with faded markings for 'Motorhomes Only' bays. Litter bins on site. No signage at all prohibiting overnight stays. Nearby residents confirmed overnights are ok (many locals have motorhomes themselves) Very limited local traffic. Parking used by local dog walkers. Friendly locals confirmed this location is safe and secure.

Perfect flat & quiet spot near the beach & woodland. Few cars pass through to a very quiet road (where there are a few houses and holiday cabins) 4 marked dedicated motorhome spaces. (unsure why it says daytime only) Friendly community. 15 mins leisurely walk to well stocked shop (very friendly staff) post office, hotel restaurant/bar, cafes, restaurant.

I don’t understand why this place is flagged for daytime parking only. It’s clearly marked for motorhomes and no prohibiting signage. It is also listed by searchforsites as an overnight stop. Have checked with local residents and they affirm it is not a problem. Very friendly they were too.

Stayed on 29th Aug. Nice and flat with a great view (if you ignore the hard standing). We ended up leaving at 10pm due to a couple of water tankers apparently transferring water from one to the other using a generator pump (not the one pictured or mentioned earlier). Ended up in a lay by above Tighnabruach. Came back in the morning and they were still at it. Otherwise a decent place.

Four spaces marked for motorhomes. Access to beach and woodland walk. An abandoned motorhome is available for anyone seeking spare parts!

5 places de camping-car, très calme la nuit, l’endroit est plat, goudronné, poubelle sympa pour les pêcheurs

There’s not much in the way of facilities but it’s a very quiet spot with beautiful views across the Kyles of Bute. You are right by the loch and disturbed only by the occasional dog Walker and the odd car driving to the caravan site a couple of miles down the track. The hard standings are even marked up for motor homes

Lochside view. Level, quiet, friendly locals. Bin and picnic tables. 1 mile from pub and store. I don't recommend the lochside single track road from Cairndow via Otterferry.

Added pictures and updated listing. Good spot, nice views. Generator running throughout the night 'Sept 2020 - not intrusive. Good 3-4hr walk (we are fairly fast walkers) starting from the corner of the parking area nearest the village which goes via the golf course, past old gunpowder mill and to a small ruined castle by a loch on the tops. Views to Tarbet I'm forest above.
