lovely friendly people. I stayed for my first ever night in the van I had just bought...made the rookie mistake of setting up the bed before getting the porta potty out of storage. when I mentioned it in the bar whilst laughing at myself for the error the barman said not to worry and arranged to leave the door open to access the pubs toilet..what fabulous service!

we stayed here on the 19th of August 2024, we arrived without warning and asked if we could stay the night. Staff were very friendly and pointed us to the rear gravel car park. we had a meal in the restaurant and a few drinks, the food was excellent and we had a peaceful night sleep and a good walk with the dog up the hill with fantastic views towards the Irish sea, what more could you ask for.

Called around 2pm to ask if they had space for a motorhome that night. I was told to “park up the back” I asked if we needed to book a table for an evening meal, reply: the kitchen closes at 8pm. We arrived at 5pm to find that there was a fête or event in the pub car park:- stalls, bouncy castle , ice cream van , car park full of cars,. No parking places, why not explain at 2pm when I called??

Great park up. Rang ahead to check they had space. Proper British pub atmosphere and food. Food was delicious, staff so friendly and absolute grafters. Dropped a star as some nails on ground in the car park, but notified staff and they sorted it. Definitely recommend and will be back.

Staff so friendly, helpful and very welcoming!! Last minute late drop in but very welcoming and dog friendly as well.

Perfect place to stop for the night. Called ahead to ask and see if there was space. Booked a table and had a great dinner in there. No fee for staying the night as we had eaten in the pub. Also no specific time to be out of their car park in the morning.

Top car park allocated for motorhomes is on a slight slope. 4 out of 5 just for the slope. I managed to get at the back which is flatter. Quiet road alongside didn't disturb us overnight. Good meal and drinks in the dog freindly bar area and reasonable prices, freindly staff, pool table.

Great place to park, lovely food, owner was fine. we just phoned before hand to make sure there is a space.

Flat car park with no charge at all. Aceess to the disabled toilet as long as you let the staff know you need it. Food is fantastic and the staff are fun and up for a laugh. I'll definitely be going back.

Great stopover on our way south, just 10mins off the motorway and a almost flat car park - separate from hotel/pub users. We had an evening meal and a couple of drinks so there was no charge, very friendly management. There is a play area with good quality equipment and fresh bark and a lovely circular walk just across the road. Very surprised we were the only ones there, would highly recommend.

Good, level parking, quiet area. Pub didn’t charge us to stay as long as we ate and drank in the pub, which seemed a fair deal. Toilets are locked from close (11pm) until breakfast service (8am). Worth a stopover if it’s just for the night.

There is a new management who are very keen to make a success of the place. We stayed for 10 euros with now facilities but there are plans to improve this. We ate and drank well at the pub and then went for a nice walk up the hill behind. Just at the edge of Kendal.

Staff were so friendly. Call first to see if they have space. Food was lovely as was the selection of drinks. Pub is dog friendly. Dedicated motor home / caravan part of the car park. Level ground on most of the car park. Definitely worth the £10.

Stayed here last night. £10 for the night, paid by card. ate dinner in the pub (didn't have to) chose the pizza, was fairly small but actually really nice! manager/owner (not sure) was friendly over the phone (called ahead as recommended here) he gave a decent description of how it worked and where to go. 2 portaloos on site plus use of the disabled toilet from 7:30am.

Great place to stay. Food is excellent. There is fresh water and a place to empty toilet but no hook up.
