Great little stop but it gets surprisingly busy, even on a wet, rainy day in October. When the small car park is full and you park on the road above the car park please leave enough space for the logging trucks the make the turn after the bridge. Last night 2 campers had to move at 6.30am so that the trucks could get through.

Beautiful location right on a river surrounded by mountains. We stayed here in October and were surrounded by red deer in rut. The site is right next to the Glenfinnan Viaduct as well.

Mało miejsca, trochę błota. Zwykłe miejsce na spędzenie nocy przed przyjazdem na wiadukt., nic poza tym.

We stayed here one night to get to the Glenfinnan viaduct. About ten campervans slept here. It's best to arrive before 6 p.m. The viaduct is about 3 kilometers away.

Chegamos aqui e so tinha um carro parado, ficamos com medo por ser tao isolado, mas depois chegaram mais 8 carros, pararam na parte de baixo e na parte de cima, isso nos tranquilizou e dormiremos bem. Lugar lindo com um rio muito tranquilo, fica a 3 km de caminha para o local da ponte. Fomos e voltamos a pé, tem uma trilha ao lado da pista.

Nuit tranquille, pas de services à disposition. (Eau, électricité,…)

Emplacement idéal : calme et proche du viaduc. 5 min en voiture et 1h à pied. La randonnée pour accéder au viaduc est marécageuse. Une fois arrivé au renfoncement dédié aux camions transportant des rondins de bois (sur la droite), privilégier le petit chemin caillouteux qui monte sur la colline. Vous pourrez facilement redescendre pour accéder au petit pont qui vous fera traverser la rivière.

Nice place. We were around 7 motorhomes. 45-50min walk to the viaduct so no need to pay the parking space.

Vraiment le parking idéal pour la nuit avant d'aller au Viaduc. Oui il y a 45min de marche mais au moins c'est gratuit. Par contre, je vous conseille d'arriver tôt, de notre côté vers 18h. Petit +, nous étions entourés de francophone. ca fait toujours plaisir d'entendre sa langue dans un autre pays ^^ Salut à vous nos voisins d'une nuit ^^

Super ruhig gelegen und tolle Atmosphäre. Man sollte jedoch pünktlich sein, da es schnell voll wird durch die Nähe zum Viadukt.

Nice and quiet free spot. Very busy though - we arrived just before 6pm and had to wait for a car to leave to get a spot. When we left at 8:30am, another camper was waiting to take our spot.

looked a nice place but was packed. lots of other vans parked outside "proper" parking spots so we did the same. at about 8.15pm a ranger turned up and lots of us got the knock saying we had to move as we were blocking access. none of us were blocking properly, just obscuring slightly, but fair enough, we moved on. so don't bother if it's busy and you can't get a proper parking bay!

Great for visiting the viaduct, you can walk there in 1 hour.

Très bon emplacement proche du viaduc. Nous sommes arrivés la veille pour y dormir et avons encore pu trouver de la place vers 21h. Le terrain est globalement plat. Il est conseillé d'arriver aux alentours de 8h sur le parking du viaduc pour les motorhomes.

Bon spot pour 1 nuit, on a pris la dernière place dans le petit coin à 20h. Les (nombreux) suivants ont du faire demi tour. On etait penché et pas de vue particulière. Mais très pratique car à 3 min du parking du train, on s'est levé et on y est allé directement, il s'est vite rempli côté camping car.

Nous nous sommes garés ici avec notre van pour passer une nuit. Très calme, mais beaucoup de midges. A 10 minutes du parking du viaduc de glenfinnan. ATTENTION la nuit visite de biches. Ça surprend la nuit.

Schöner Ort zum Übernachten bevor man den Harry Potter Zug besichtigt. Allerdings sehr viele Midges und ab abends brechend voll.

Super endroit avec le ruisseau, le calme et les midges

Ideal um morgens schnell beim Viadukt zu sein. Schöner Fluss um sich abzukühlen. Leider wirklich viele Mücken! So klein, dass sie vom Netz nicht abgehalten werden. Und auch Hirschlausfliegen!!! Ganz fiese Tiere! Ansonsten top. Es standen mit uns 10 WoMos dort. 4 unten und 6 am Rand unten und auch vor der Brücke!

Emplacement idéal avant d’aller voir Glenfinnam (10 minutes de route). Pas mal de midges mais identiques sur les autres emplacements. Prévoyez d’arriver tôt sur le spot, il y a pas mal de places mais beaucoup de monde courtisent cet emplacement.

estuvimos esta noche. llegamos hacia las 18:30 y pudimos aparcar la autocaravana por los pelos... y ya quedó el sitio lleno. se llena rápido. mejor llegar antes de las 18h. es perfecto para despertarse pronto y ir al viaducto.

Door het relatief slechte weer bijna geen last van de hieronder veelbesproken muggen. Aangesproken door een chagrijnige man dat we hier niet mochten staan, maar daar verder geen borden over gezien. Hij gaf verder weinig onderbouwing, dus blijven staan. Vanaf 19.00u werd het snel drukker. De wandeling (binnendoor) naar het viaduct is ook de moeite waard. Niet langs de hoofdweg lopen. Is zonde.

Endroit parfait pour passer la nuit au calme. 8 campeurs pour notre soirée. Respectez le chemin privé, ne vous garez pas après le panneau, idem pour la barrière forestière. 50 min de marche par la piste forestière et en passant par la passerelle pour le train HP. En quittant la piste pour la passerelle passage dans la boue ou autre chemin sur la droite depuis la place.

Nice place by a river. We got called out by a park ranger because our ladder was outside. Apparently you can't have anything outside the vehicle boundaries. If you want to see the steam train on the viaduct I suggest walking the 3km from here. The parking there is crowded and expensive.

Emplacement près d’une rivière attention aux midges le soir. Nous y avons dormi pour être à8h30 au parking du viaduc de glenfinnan à 8min de là. Qd nous sommes arrivé à 19h nous étions 4 , les camping car sont arrivés vers 23h

Sehr schöne Parkplatz. Direkt am Fluss. Das einzige Nachteil waren die Mücken, die waren halt unerträglich. Sonst alles super, für eine Nacht hat es gepasst.

Super idyllisch direkt am Fluss mit verwunschenem Wäldchen gelegen. Abends haben wir sogar ein Reh nur wenige Meter entfernt gesehen. Wir waren gegen 17 Uhr da und kurz danach hat es sich schnell gefüllt (einige Camper standen/passen auch oben am/an den Weg, statt unten auf dem Parkplatz). Negativ: Wirklich unfassbar viele Midges.

Great place for free, didn't have issues with midges. Just need to find a perfect weather day to avoid them. The only issue is that rain can ruin 2 parking spots by transforming them into swamp, not suitable for stay. 15 minutes from the viaduct, so if you want to visit it in the morning, the latest time you need to leave this parking is 7:30 am.

Nahe an Glen Finnan und Kostenlos, Würde nicht nochmal wieder kommen. Hier gibt es Tausende Midgies. Sofort nach Ankunft mussten wir alle Türen und Fenster verbarikadieren und trotzdem sind sie durch die Lüftung im Bad gekommen. Wem Midgies keine Angst machen und auf Tausende Stiche pro Bein steht, für den ist es sicher toll hier. Komme nie wieder hierher.

schöner Platz wird aber auch schnell voll. Rehe sehen kann man auch und zwar jede Menge.

great place to stay, very quiet, probably about 10 motorhomes when we stayed. it's popular so get there early. there are walking trails. you could walk to viaduct via the dragonfly trail, but the footbridge is out of service right now. i wouldn't fancy walking on the road.

Vorsicht vor den Mücken. Sind sehr klein, vergleichbar mit deutschen Fruchtfliegen. Sind so klein das sie durch das Fliegengitter passen. Einmal kurz die Tür aufgemacht und Hunderte im Auto. Würde hier nie wieder hin!

Beau spot au bord de l’eau à plat, avec un coin d’herbe,très calme. Attention le lieu est très prisé par les vans/campings car, nous sommes arrivés tôt à 16h et il n’y avait personne encore. Le soir nous étions une 10e. Les midges aiment beaucoup ce lieu ! À 40’ à pied du Viaduc de Glenfinnan par le chemin forestier, très facile.

Parking avec de nombreuses places et facile de se garer. Il se situe à quelques minutes en voiture de Glenfinnan en retrait de la route principale.

Très bon emplacement près du viaduc. Nous y sommes arrivé vers 21h mais il restait une place. Attention aux midges qui étaient bien présents, surtout le matin, sinon l'endroit était très calme pour y dormir.

Beautiful spot by the edge of the Callop River. Arrived at 15.30 and 3 motorhomes already parked up. More MH and vans arrived after and found space on the "access road". No facilties except a bin, important to be respectful and leave unspoilt for future visitors. The pedestrian bridge at the end of the forest path is now open, allowing a road free route to Glenfinnan (about 45 minutes walking).

Good spot for an overnight! Got pretty busy (was getting full about 7pm), but felt safe and off the road. Only thing to be aware of is this seems to be an access route for the occasional big truck (only a couple - we were not disturbed but a van had to move in the morning so the truck could get round the corner onto the bridge), but there are plenty of spaces where this won't be a problem.

Great spot for an overnight stay if visiting the viaduct. Space for lots of vans, felt safe and there’s a bin. Not sure if it was the vans or nature that smelled in the morning but it did the job for one night. This area will get full quickly so arrive early to secure your spot.

Got here around 5pm and there were already 3 campers here. Great spot away from main roads with plenty of turning space and access to the stream/river. parking was full by about 7pm, so have to be early

Nachts kann man die Sterne sehr gut beobachten.Direkt daneben ist ein kleiner Bach da kann man super mit (wenn man dabei hat) Kindern spielen.

Perfecta zona de descanso en la naturaleza cerca de Fort William, cobijado por árboles y a los pies de un río. Estuvimos 3 campers. La ubicación indicada coincide con la real. Muy recomendable!

Das mit den Rehen können wir nur bestätigen. Haben den Platz im Dunkeln gefunden. Etwas gruselig. Aber es kamen noch zwei weitere Camper dazu.

Le stationnement s'est rempli rapidement, nous sommes arrivés vers 17h. Formidable endroit pour la visite du Glennfinnam. En retrait du chemin, donc super tranquille. Note : Vérifier les coordonnées GPS avant de s'y rendre.

En retrait de la route, venir assez tôt car assez vite rempli. Agréable avec forêt et petit point d’eau. Idéalement placé en vu de visiter le glenfinnan monument.

Great place to see wild deer and stag, unbelievable experience. Stayed 2 nights, after climbing Ben Nevis as we needed it. Please keep this gem of a place clean, as there is a bin as you go out to the main road you come in.

Perfectly located away from the main road, best night rest on a parking I had for this trip. It is well known so parking is quickly full.

Great, quiet spot. Space for 4 campers plus space for 2 on the road at the entrance. Careful crossing the bridge as there is a bump getting on and off, so take it slow. Plenty of deer about with some very vocal stags.

Pas trop de place et à côté d'une ligne électrique. La vue était pas folle, mais on a passé une nuit calme. Parfait comme emplacement pour aller voir le viaduc de Glenfinnan

Super endroit pour passer une nuit près du pont. Au calme loin de la route, il y a même vue sur une réserve naturelle. Assez d’emplacements pour les vans et campings cars, en revanche nous étions beaucoup le soir. Malgré la route en mauvais états, nous avons pu dormir sur un emplacement à plat.

Super Stellplatz, wenn man zum Glennfinnan Viadukt möchte und davor übernachten will, um früh dort zu sein. Achtung, auch hier herrscht reges kommen und gehen und es ist sehr viel los. Am besten sehr früh anreisen. wir kamen gegen 16 Uhr nachmittags und haben noch gut Platz gefunden. Doch ab dem Abend war dann alles schnell voll.

zona bellissima! c'è molto spazio, ma dipende come sono disposti gli altri mezzi. sicuramente se si riesce ad arrivare verso le 18 c'è modo di sistemarsi bene. noi siamo arrivati verso le 20, ma comunque abbiamo trovato posto, e un altro mezzo dopo di noi. a circa 15 minuti di bici dal parcheggio a pagamento per il viadotto! consigliato

Buono per passare la notte. Quando è calato il buio accanto al nostro van si sono avvicinati dei cerbiatti.

prima plek, met de fiets naar de het viaduct (wel via grote weg, fietspad is pas eind 2024 gerepareerd). 4g bereik is goed. we kwamen om 1445u aan en er stond nog niemand.

It gets really crowded for the night, but despite that it was a calm night. In the morning we cycle to see the train at Glenfinnan viaduct, unfortunately path is closed due to reconstruction so you need to go on very busy road, but doable in about 15 minutes cycling :). Beware miges around in summer :)

Free parking and pretty much flat. Good position between Ben Nevis and Glennfinnan. Lots of midges in the summer months!

Heel mooie plek, aan een riviertje. Kom op tijd dan kun je op een plek aan de rivier staan. Vuurplaatsen aanwezig verder geen services, behalve een vuilnisbak aan het begin van de weg. Rustig ‘s avonds, ‘ochtends wel verkeer, ook vrachtwagens (bedrijf aan eind van de weg). Kinderen zullen dit heel leuk vinden.

Beautiful spot, but it go so crowded overnight! When we came at 4 pm we were all alone, in the morning there were 11 campers and a trailer!

Lovely place. Busy with campers so be early. We also found a Human Poo with toilet paper left on the side, please clean up after yourself!!!!

Kleiner Platz in der Natur, viele kleine Mücken. Ich habe dort sicher und ruhig mit 6 weiteren Campern gestanden.

Quite beautiful place. There were many other vans and cars already parked here when we came, but there is enough space for at least 10 vans. Like said in other reviews the midges are really bad. But we enjoyed the nature for one night and drove to the viaduct car park at around 8 am. We saw the first (11:00) and second train (13:40) coming and it was amazing.

Stayed here a few nights ago. We arrived at 6:30pm and we were the 10th van to park up. Lots of space if all smaller/medium sized vans. The midges are really bad be quick when opening doors!! Entrance road is very bumpy and full of pot holes. Wasn’t our most peaceful nights sleep as lots of other people there too but will do for a stop!

Fantastic little stop-off on the way to Mallaig. Small car park nestled in trees next to a stream. Space for around 5 or 6 vans/motorhomes if people park sensibly. When I was there, there were a number of tents - they were up and away early in the morning. My favourite park up to date. Bumpy track coming in off the main road, so just take your time.

Pěkné místo. Přijeli jsme asi v 8 večer už bylo úplně plno, naštěstí jsme se ještě vešli podél cesty. 4 další auta, co přijela později se už nevešla. Přijeďte tedy včas! Pozor místo je plné malých otravných mušek.

One of the best park ups in the area. No signs preventing overnight stays. Ground can become soft towards the edges. No bins or facilities. Good 4g. Would recommend.

Great spot, a bit muddy when staying after rains.

Bei schlechtem Wetter nicht zu empfehlen. Viel Verkehr und die Aussicht mäßig. Aber Ausgang zu einer netten Wanderung. Ich könnte mir vorstellen, dass es bei gutem Wetter und weniger Matsch ganz nett ist.

Super Platz. Natürlich ist das Symbol falsch...es ist kein Gebühren pflichtiger Parkplatz. Platz mit Parzellen aufgeteilt und sehr schön. Direkt am Bach. Nur drauf achten unten auf dem Platz zu parken! Nicht oben auf der straße. Da kommen wald arbeiten mit großen Maschinen nicht durch und wecken dich morgens

Great location on the river and wonderful walks straight into the mountains. It is very muddy in places and a van was stuck when I arrived. The midges are about but not too bad so far.

Prachtige plek, heel rustig. Ik ben wel bang dat het binnenkort verboden wordt want het stond helemaal vol met campers. Zelfs langs de weg. Terwijl er gewoon grote vrachtwagens in en uit moeten kunnen rijden overdag. Wij stonden op een plekje vlak voor de borden, daar was precies ruimte voor 1 camper. Oja en mensen: leeg niet je toiletcassette in de bosjes, dit kan ECHT niet!

Ein sehr schöner und ruhiger Platz. Leider können wir uns nicht im Auto aufhalten daher haben uns die Mücken wirklich sehr genervt und mussten sehr früh abreisen

Fantastic quiet little spot. Just off the main road and a 3 minute drive from Glenfinnan Viaduct. Loads of stags and Does. Room for maybe 3 or 4 campers. Signal a plenty.

Stayed in March 2022. Great little spot, very secluded. Path to Glenfinnan was closed unfortunately but a walk along the loch gave great (but distant views) of the viaduct. No bins. Joined by two campers.

Lovely wee spot. Arrived when it was dark and it was easy enough to find. One other camper was parked there. Woke up to snow and a beautiful view of the forest and river. Very quiet as well.

Our first stop off on a west coast road trip in our campervan. Arrived 5pm and no one else here. Lovely riverside park up and very quiet. Gentle rain most of the evening, but the midges have gone now, so all good. Did a mini litter pick in the morning to remove a few bits of rubbish. Lovely spot.

Good spot to get to Glenfinnan viaduct. Down by a shallow river. Not too much hassle in a MH but some potholes. We arrived fairly late but managed to get a spot, though a couple of people had to turn back.

Perfect little spot, off the road nice and quiet, plenty of room for around 8 campers and MHs. right by the river and not far from Hogwarts Bridge too. would definitely recommend.

Great free spot by the river. Room for around 5 campers. Peaceful night. We parked here before driving to the Glenfinnan visitor center parking (£6 for motorhomes) to see the viaduct as you cannot park overnight there. We followed the latitude and longitude directions as the postcode took us to the wrong place. No facilities but toilets at the visitor centre down the road open at 10am.

Einer der ruhigsten Plätze auf unserer England/Schottland-Tour. Pferde-Besitzerin von der Farm daneben hat Gespräch gesucht und war sehr freundlich, hat unsere Kinder gleich an die Pferde auf der Koppel herangelassen. Wir waren in dieser Nacht die einzigen auf dem Platz. Grillen war möglich bis mit der Dämmerung die Stechmücken kamen. Optimaler Platz in der Nähe des Glennfinnan-Viadukts.

Our first time doing this but a fab little spot. No passing traffic there was 4 others also parked up. Just over a mile away to the viaduct.

A great spot, very quiet, but lots of midges (it is next to a river!). Beware, currently the track through the woods to the monument and viaduct viewpoint is closed where you cross the river due to a dangerous bridge!

Great spot for the night if you want to do the viaduct. You can walk from here if you want to save on parking, there’s a trail all the way. Peaceful nights sleep, although we stayed here the night England lost the Euros final so not the happiest memories...

Stayed for one night, lovely and quiet buy the side of the river. Quite a few midges but to be expected. Nice walk down the lane to the viaduct off the main road.

Midgets. Located very very close to the viaduct view. Next morning We were bored waiting for the train until 10.45 am. There are some half hour walks nearby, but tbh the midgets were unbearable today.

Excellent and popular spot right by the river. Filled up early (6pm ish). Very quiet. Can walk the forest dirt track to the right to the Glenfinnan viaduct and Shiel loch. Much easier than trying to find a parking space in the main car park when crazy busy!

Lovely spot, easily accessible from the main road but far enough to be quiet. Easy cycle to Glenfinnan. - Very popular spot. No other campers stayed the night, but some local kids spent the evening there drinking etc., then took off leaving all their rubbish behind and their campfire unattended.

Nice views of callop river. Quiet location, bit muddy in the rain. Great woodland walk close by. Would advise to get here early if your planning on camping as it gets very busy, we arrived just before 5pm and there was only 2 other vans. Woke up to 5 vans

Seemed a nice spot, but had about 5 vans there (in a space only comfortably suitable for 3) when we got there with not so quiet people so moved on.

Good spot for one night and if you need to find something quick as not far from main road but far enough not to hear. There were two other units but we felt private enough as on other side of lot. Surface was flat. Lovely walks nearby.

Very popular, there was 4 units here last night and another 3 in the road way. Lovely location next to river, very quiet. Evidence of camp fires. Cycle path all the way down the nearby Loch, with views of the aqueduct. Fairly flat.

Beautiful place to stay. Very quiet. Right by the river. Very popular when we were there with campers and tents. Some lovely walks and bike rides nearby.

Lovely spot to park up. lots of other campers around so felt very safe but obviously wasn't silent. Plenty of room and far enough off the road to relax. Very local to Glenfinnan Viaduct (Potter fans!) and as all the other local spots are closed, I was half expecting to not find a space. Thank you Glenfinnan.

Stayed here for the night brilliant little spot we parked down the little ramp next to river no noise great spot . Yes the midges are about but it is the west highlands

Unglaublich viele midges letzte nacht (10. aug 2020). man konnte die tür kaum öffnen und war sofort umschwärmt! achtung dass sie nicht ins fahrzeug kommen, sonst hat man einen kampf, dir wieder rauszubekommen!!! parkplatz war voll, wahrscheinlich grad hochsaison beim viaduct. haben uns gegenüber des parkplatzes in eine kleine bucht gestellt. super ruhig und angenehm.

Great location and very quiet overnight. The train on the viaduct passes at 10:30am and 15:00pm.

Joli petit espace. Très calme durant la nuit, juste un autre Van a notre passage (14/11/2019). une poubelle a la sortie de la route, ce qui est un gros plus ! Il faisait trop froid pour profiter de l'extérieur a notre passage, mais nous avons vu des restes de feux de camps. Pour la visite du Viaduc, un petit café se trouve a quelques minutes à peine et permet d'avoir des toilettes !

Coin très sympa au bord d'une rivière. Plat, isolé de la route et à l'abri du vent. Nous étions 3 véhicules ce soir là. A deux pas de Glenfinnan.

Brilliant campsite with a running river. Plenty of space and away from main road. Lorry’s go past extremely early waking the whole campsite thus the campers were extremely unhappy but don’t let this put you off. Well worth the visit

There were 6 or 7 other cars and it was quiet full so come early. We didnt had that much midges (Not more than usually). The viaduct Is a must do on the next morning but be there early

Buen sitio para pasar la noche. Un poco concurrido ya que está muy bien situado para al día siguiente acercarse al viaducto. Muchos mosquitos cerca del río.

Schöne Platz, waren eine Nacht dort. Würde aber nicht mehr hin. Da der Platz ist einer Senke liegt, ist er sehr Windstille. das bedeutet gegen Abend so viele midges. Man konnte Abends und Morgens kein Fuß, aus dem Auto setzen ohne zerbissen zu werden.

Magnífico lugar a la orilla del río, pasamos una noche muy tranquila con otros 3 autocaravanas. La única pega los mosquitos... Sitio totalmente recomendable.

Perfect spot nearby the Harry Potter Bridge (go there by bike is the most easiest way). Directly on a river, fits for around 5 - 6 camper vans.

Very quiet night. The little road next to it is used by lorries bringing timber, but they only start after 8am. Kids loved the stream next to it.

Très pratique pour être rapidement à Glenfinann. Nous avons eu la chance de voir des cerfs et d'entendre leurs brames pendant la nuit et au petit matin.

Wir haben sehr gut geschlafen! Viele Midges, aber ideal, um früh am Glenfinnan Viadukt zu sein. Zwischen 8 und 9 Uhr zum Visitor Center Parkplatz zu fahren, macht Sinn. Vom Stellplatz sind es nur 5 Minuten mit dem WoMo.

Great spot to stop for the night. 40min walk down to the Glenfinnan visitors center and jacobite memorial

Had the place to ourselves, absolutely perfect. Saw many deer, and a great walk for dogs directly from the van. A great night sleep! As good as it gets.

Accessible pour les plus de 7 m, petit coin bien tranquille, avec départ de randonnées, effectivement beaucoup de midges !
