Great spot with incredible views. Good base for walking around Lake Buttermere and other walks in the area. Nice flat ground and the area is so big that you’re far from other campers. Portaloos on site are well looked after and lovely host who comes around to collect money in the evening. £10 for myself in the van is a great deal!
So peaceful and rustic. Huge open field with a few sheep wondering around. Farmer and her collie arrive later in the day on a quad to collect the money. Outhouse style toilet at farmhouse and outbuilding with pot washing facility. No facility to fill water tanks up
Great place to bag some wainwrights. There is a ice cream shop right next to the campsite which is worth a visit. The farmer sells fresh eggs too! Running hot and cold water but can only fill up from a traditional sink tap. If you’re planning on filling your internal tanks then you will not be able to do it here. My phone is EE and I had full bars 4G with a different network provider - wavemobile?
Lovely remote site with great access to lots of beautiful walks. £20 per night. You have access to clean portaloos which are in the camping field with bins in the field as well for your rubbish. Hot & cold running water & a place to do your dishes is available as part of the farm house. Campfires are allowed if raised off the floor. Owner sells fresh eggs & wood if required.
Simply a field, fortunately in the best area of the Lakes. We loved it, simple, rural, perfectly located. Basically a field on a farm, Portaloos, tap and really friendly service, simplicity, since discovering double yellow lines all around the lake. only reason not 5* is the improvement on the portaloo is required
une vue extraordinaire à 360° sur les montagnes, beaucoup de moutons aux alentours. Nous étions seuls ! Vous pouvez vous installer quand vous voulez, le propriétaire vient le soir pour le paiement en cash ou en visa. Barbecue autorisé mais pas les feux au sol. Endroit idyllique ! Pas de réseau.
