Large level car park with sea views and good coastal path. No restrictions at present, it was the car park of a closed mining museum. The direct road from Whitehaven is narrow due to cars parked on one side, but wide enough for any large van or average motorhome and if you want to park something larger there is a wider road from the other side, Marchon Rd. Access is easy.

Great place to spend the night. I was the only one here. I would have stayed another night but high winds are forecast and it's a little exposed. Easy walk down into town via harbour. Coming back up is a bit more effort!

This is beyond ideal! Level car park, plenty of space. I stayed two nights and had other vans around both nights. The view is beautiful and it’s a lovely walk down into Whitehaven marina. Bit of a steep walk back up though! Locals all seem friendly.

Nice and quiet park up with a lovely view.

Cracking 2 overnight stops. Came up for a fiends 50th Birthday party in Whitehaven. This spot is quiet, although lots of walkers round during the day. Quiet at night and the sunsets(weather permitting) are amazing. Definitely recommend. Free to park.

I was here told to move and a firm warning stones thrown at van also

Agree with all the other comments. a quiet and comfortable night in a lovely spot

Lovely and super quiet park up, the sunset we got over the sea was amazing. On a clear day you can see the Isle of Man and Scotland. Good level parking, bins, friendly locals, it’s got everything for a peaceful night.

Outstanding free parking place. Great views and very peaceful. 4 vans already here when we arrived in a Friday night. Having looked at the other sites around the local area this one definitely stands out. I’d definitely recommend it.

We suggest you look up the 2 or 2a bus route and follow that to get to this car park which has stunning views of the Isle of Man and Scotland, there’s is a 20 minute costal walk with a very steep decline to the harbour, and town centre we recommend if like us we are 60 + locate the bus stop for the 2 or2a bus it will drop you off 50m from car park for £2.40, town has a weatherspoons

lovely views, nice large, flat car park. plenty of visitors, mainly dog walkers. stayed on a Fri night so a couple of 'boy racers' but didn't stay long and no noise overnight. would stay again and also use the chip shop down the road again too!

not for us . very narrow road ,high up from whitehaven . it would be impossible for a big motorhome. The sign at the bottom says max 2 meters wide . we didn't stay. We drove straight back down and parked next to the marina in the town centre £6 for 24 hours

Turned up night, empty car park, woke up in the morning and wow, what a great view. The only issue was a few young people turned up in cars at about 6 am sounding horns and playing loud music. Other than that, no complaints at all. Whitehaven is a nice town, particularly around the harbour. No facilities or reception on 3 mobile.

Great spot overlooking the sea within easy reach of town which is just a 10 minute walk and it's on the coastal path so plenty of walks to...the car park is mainly used by dog walkers and the locals seem friendly enough.. keep this place clean so it stays available...only leave tyre tracks

Nice spot, plenty of room. Banking prevents sea view from inside van, but couple of steps and the Irish Sea is before you! Good walk to be had along coast.

Great spot for a quiet night and amazing morning views. Loads of space

As mentioned follow the signs for the mining museum to find the wonderful spot. Please use the bins provided. Amazing view and amazing sunset. Very peaceful night. Would visit again. Enjoy your stay

nice and out the way , 15 minute walk to the nearest shops etc. busy with dog walkers but no problems at night

Very large car park on the cliffs. Quite hard to find at the back of a housing estate so follow the signs for the mining museum. We spent a quite night here but if the weather is not good it could be rather exposed.
