(KY13) Kinross - Loch Leven Heritage Trail

Great free stopover, lovely & peaceful, large carpark with plenty of space, several motorhomes there felt very safe. Toilets were open 24hrs although signs say on 9am-5pm

excellent quiet stopover. loads of space on purpose built parking areas. We popped into town & had a lovely meal with great service at The Kirkland's Hotel. Will definitely use this park again. Simple request, please respect this park so it remains available for others.

A great free park-up. No need for levellers. We had a really peaceful night here. Loos open 9am to 5pm. Loads of space for plenty of vans. We would definitely recommend this spot and would stay here again.

Perfect for a stopover. We arrived super late 0200h and there was loads of space for us to park up without disturbing anyone already here. Silent through the night, 5g on EE and Vodafone. Right next to the loch and plenty walks to do around it. Kinross is a lovely town with plenty of shops for provisions. Can’t fault it for a free night

The Boathouse is closed and awaiting planning permission. The toilets were open from 0900 to 1700. A nice quiet spot to overnight. Can also recommend the boat trip out to see Loch Leven castle.

Lovely setting but no views from the carpark. Just stopping on way to drop off my van in Edinburgh. It’s a safe spot. Probably 10 vehicles from big Motorhome to small vans here tonight but room for many more. Toilet appears open all night. It seems you are preferred to stay here than by the park. Nice walks. Your dog would love it.

OVERNIGHT PARKING ALLOWED. This was a wonderful spot; we'd seen previous reviews saying they were fine with overnight parking so tried our luck. The tour office said it was no problem and they're actually encouraging people to stay here rather than the busier Kirkgate Park nearby. Toilets open all night. A short walk into town and to the park with lots of history and interest.

Great place to stay overnight. Staff were lovely if needed, toilets open all night and a source of warm water aswell if needing to wash anything! Would highly recommend to anyone and also has the Loch walk to complete aswell.

Very large parking space with no barriers at all. Lots of people walking their dog evenings and mornings. A great play yard for the kids at the shores of the lake. From here you can also visit the castle by boat (12 persons per boat). Great take away pizza place nearby. (7' walk).

I stopped here overnight after contacting Loch Leven National Nature Reserve who said "The car park at The Pier, Kinross, KY13 8UF always has plenty of room and we don’t have any ‘no overnight parking’ policies". The area is well maintained, relatively flat, very quiet and a stones throw from the loch. Toilets are not open overnight, but we're freshly cleaned by 8am. Kinross is a 5 min walk away.

Beaucoup de midges. Accès à de l'eau pour notre van compliqué (il faut demander à l'accueil, on a reçu 10 litres dans notre bidon). Beaucoup de pêcheurs et promeneurs. WC ferment à 17h. Passage rapide. Pas de barrière. Café fermé lors de notre passage.

There were no access barriers to the site.

Access road is now prevented with barrier . Don’t waste your time like I did . Go to loch Leven about 10 mins away

Area is under construction, so not as much space as in photo but still ok. Possibly housing being built so puts the future of this site into question.

5 min from motorway. Hard flat parking area. Very quite. Toilets April to October. Cafe but closed due to Covid. Fishing. Dog walking. Boat trips to island. Mary Queen of Scots was imprisoned here. Relaxing.

Stayed here. No sign seen to stop overnight parking.

Endroit calme, je mets 3 étoiles pour l'odeur désagréable de la station d'épuration qui se trouve à côté.

Large flat car park next to Loch Leven marina and the start of the 13 mile path around the loch. Peaceful overnight, no restrictions and no trouble. 15 minute walk into centre of Kinross for supermarket, pubs, fish and chips etc. Swimming pool about 1mile away if you want a shower!

Très jolie balade autour du lac. Environ 2h30 en vélo pour le tour complet. Grand parking. Nous y avons passé deux nuits sans souci. Par contre c'est juste un parking. Pas de service.

Nous y avons passé deux nuits, pas de problème. La journée du monde mais nous sommes le week-end de Pâques. Piste cyclable autour du lac, supérette et boulangerie à pied.
