Signs up saying no camping or sleeping in vehicles overnight, shame as it’s a nice place by a massive lake but the car park is sloping, but great friendly restaurants

Chippanos09/11/2025Il y a un panneau à l'entrée indiquant qu'on ne peut pas y passer la nuit, ainsi qu'une caméra donc ce n'est pas endroit pour y dormir. Nous sommes repartis.

small amount of traffic audible from the main road, lovely views / walk around park. miniature train track behind parking area. Steak house for dinner if you fancy and premier inn do a decent breakfast for £11 (kids eat free)
PeteNui16/06/2025We found this place very pleasent to stay even the noise from the road are non stop but Hey it is free and close to pub and restaurant and walking trail along beautiful lakes.
gialia27/04/2025My original review was 4 star, it lost 1 point because of the traffic noise. But, even though it's a pub carpark, and there are no signs saying anything about the parking belonging to the Parks Trust, the Rangers have been round taking photos of van number plates. I spoke to him, and suggested MK could create an aire. He said he'd pass the suggestion along. Fingers crossed....

Carpark is great good job delivering takeaways are out and about as the restaurant here is now permanently closed

Stayed for one night, nice area on the lake in the pub carpark. We got there late so we didn’t eat but was never disturbed

Nice and peaceful, and we felt safe. It's dark at night if you park at the back by the trees. Lovely walk around the Lake too and a nice pub outside.

We stayed 2 nights very quiet no hassle very peaceful even left windows open felt safe. Nice walks around lake. Pub ok to use toilets and charge things but open from 11am only. Great 4g reception with ee. About 3 other camper with us but not crowded.
Gailyb196707/09/2024A separate car park to that of the hotel so we didn’t feel uncomfortable parking here. No signs saying no parking. Huge car park only a couple of vans. Lovely walk around the lake. Once the fire alarm had gone quiet and the fire brigade had left (about 10 ish) it was a very peaceful night. Bizarrely at 7 am, a girl in a robe, set up a camera beside us, took off her robe and began body building.

Nice stopover by a huge lake, lots of green space and a dog friendly pub. Considering how close you are to main roads, this is peaceful at night and lovely to walk the dog round the lake first thing. Large car park, plenty of room in the evening
ermracing28/06/2024Great place to hang out for a few days even with an 11m long skoolie. Nice views of the lake too. Stayed for 3 nights without an issue, met other van lifers as well.
