Daydreamella17/01/2024I stayed here 3 nights because I was attending a concert. The town made me feel really uncomfortable. This spot felt the safest, but there were still cars pulling in, standing for a while with a running engine and eventually leaving. I felt quite unsafe, because I sometimes heard men talking and seemingly walking around my vehicle. At midnight all the lights are turned off. I would avoid the city
Primrose29/12/2023Another great spot on P4N. Car park well lit overnight and not a single vehicle all night. Lovely walks along river passing visitor centres with cafe, Nine Arches Aquaduct and remains of Old Hollinside. It felt safe to leave van and go for a long walk. River was in full spate due to recent rain.

Parking busy during the day and early evening with dog walkers and people visiting the nearby sports centre but otherwise all quiet (some road noise but overall we spent a comfortable night)
