Le Folly Inn est un charmant pub-restaurant acceptant les animaux, situé à la sortie de Towcester. Ouvert du mercredi au dimanche, il est ouvert. Il dispose d'un grand parking de secours offrant un espace plat et suffisant pour une dizaine de camping-cars. On nous a demandé de nous garer au bout de la section en gravier, ce qui a très bien fonctionné.

Petit conseil : vérifiez bien les poubelles à utiliser. Nous n'étions pas sûrs, alors nous avons demandé, et ils nous ont indiqué avoir déjà rencontré des problèmes avec les mauvaises poubelles. Elles sont clairement indiquées une fois que vous les connaissez, mais mieux vaut vérifier.

La propriétaire et chef de cuisine, Nicola, gère le Folly avec sa famille, et ils ont été on ne peut plus accueillants. Elle était ravie de nous accueillir pour la nuit, à condition que nous venions prendre un verre ou un repas – et la cuisine était absolument délicieuse ! Si vous y allez le week-end, n'hésitez pas à réserver à l'avance.

Il faut environ 15 minutes à pied pour rejoindre Towcester et, bien que proche d'une route principale, le soir, c'était étonnamment calme.

Je recommande vivement pour une halte : nourriture délicieuse, accueil chaleureux, animaux acceptés et camping-cars bienvenus !

The Folly Inn is a lovely, pet-friendly pub/restaurant just outside Towcester, open Wednesday to Sunday. There’s a big overflow car park with plenty of flat space and room for around 10 motorhomes. We were asked to park at the end of the gravel section, which worked really well.

Just a heads-up – make sure you check which bins to use. We weren’t sure, so we asked, and they mentioned they’ve had issues in the past with the wrong ones being used. They’re clearly marked once you know, but best to double-check.

The owner and head chef, Nicola, runs The Folly with her family, and they couldn’t have been more welcoming. She was happy for us to stay overnight as long as we came in for a drink or a meal – and the food was absolutely fantastic! If you're heading there over the weekend, it’s definitely worth calling ahead to book.

It’s about a 15-minute walk into Towcester, and although it’s close to a main road, it was surprisingly peaceful in the evening.

Highly recommend for a stopover – delicious food, friendly faces, pet-friendly, and very motorhome-friendly!

Das Folly Inn ist ein schönes, haustierfreundliches Pub/Restaurant etwas außerhalb von Towcester und von Mittwoch bis Sonntag geöffnet. Es gibt einen großen, zusätzlichen Parkplatz mit viel ebenem Gelände und Platz für etwa zehn Wohnmobile. Wir wurden gebeten, am Ende des Schotterwegs zu parken, was sehr gut funktionierte.

Nur ein kleiner Hinweis: Achten Sie unbedingt darauf, welche Mülltonnen Sie benutzen dürfen. Wir waren uns nicht sicher und fragten nach, und sie meinten, sie hätten in der Vergangenheit Probleme mit der Nutzung der falschen Mülltonnen gehabt. Sobald Sie es wissen, sind sie deutlich gekennzeichnet, aber am besten überprüfen Sie es noch einmal.

Die Besitzerin und Chefköchin Nicola betreibt das Folly mit ihrer Familie, und sie hätten nicht gastfreundlicher sein können. Sie war gerne bereit, dass wir über Nacht blieben, solange wir auf einen Drink oder eine Mahlzeit vorbeikamen – und das Essen war absolut fantastisch! Wenn Sie übers Wochenende dorthin fahren, lohnt es sich auf jeden Fall, vorher anzurufen und zu reservieren.

Towcester ist zu Fuß in etwa 15 Minuten zu erreichen. Obwohl es in der Nähe einer Hauptstraße liegt, war es abends überraschend ruhig.

Sehr empfehlenswert für einen Zwischenstopp – leckeres Essen, freundliche Gesichter, haustierfreundlich und sehr wohnmobilfreundlich!
