Great find! Beautiful scenery and walks, carpark has been resurfaced and toilet block moved to behind the bus shelter.

Really quiet and surprisingly sheltered. Great for overnight or parking up and walking.

Lovely little spot. Perfect for getting out of the winter winds. I parked up further up the road in a yellow weather warning but couldn't sleep because the van was rocking too much. Popped down to this spot and I barely heard let alone felt a thing

  • 5/5

Stayed one night. Very windy & rainy, exposed on top of a hill. 1:4 incline up Porlock Hill but amazing views in the morning. Good toilets, didn’t use cafe. Flat car park with plenty of space.

  • 5/5

A gem of a park up, not level ground but nothing a couple of ramps can't sort. Cafe onsite serving lunches and afternoon teas (no full english unfortunately) very friendly owners and good clean toilets. Great view and sunset over Exmoor National Park.

  • 5/5

Great free spot. Good 4g. Toilets and a small cafe for tea and cake. A few walks across the road through the gate. Superb views. Will defo use again.

  • 5/5

Perfect van stop in some of the most spectacular scenery England has to offer. Clean toilets too! Brilliant.

  • 5/5

Beautiful park up with stunning scenery over Exmoor. Some parks on a slight incline but not all. Great access to coastal and Moorland walks. Also on a bus stop, we walked to Watersmeet national trust and caught the bus back! 100% recommend. Toilets where cleaned daily. We stayed 2 nights.

  • 5/5

  • 5/5

Very peaceful and large car park .. even in August it wasn’t busy , nice sunset spot . Lots of walks close by and even a toilet block . Great for star gazing

  • 5/5

  • 5/5

absolutely great little spot. 24 hours, toilets, great views and walks highly recommended

  • 5/5

Super spot !

  • 5/5

Beautiful free spot to spend the night. The tearoom is temporarily closed, so we didn’t get to ask for permission to park for the night. There were still quite a few cars pulling in with hikers, but there’s lots of space so as not to disturb anyone. Toilets on site but not bins, so take your trash with you! We loved the hiking trails starting right from the parking, and the views.

  • 5/5

  • 5/5

great view, free parking with free toilets, fairly levelled. I wish all parkups were like this, we really enjoyed just chilling in the van, watching the view and did loads of walks with our dog. we stayed for 1 night and the following morning. only 4 more vans stayed there overnight, super quiet, no road noise. highly recommend!

  • 5/5

Great place to stop for the night. flat and quiet. Nice walks nearby

  • 5/5

Arrived here as it was getting dark so didn’t see the view until the morning but what a beautiful one it was. Nice and quiet, was here with one other MH, right on the Somerset/Devon border. Internet was amazing with nearly 100mbps download speed.

  • 5/5

Spectacular views, large carpark with a slight slope but nothing major. Toilets open all night, cafe was temporarily closed but was going to reopen at some point in future. Peaceful nights sleep.

  • 4/5

the view is amazing! drinking water in the toilets, they were pretty clean. Its best to leave early, as there will arrive hikers and the tea room opens at 10.

  • 5/5

Excellent stopover. Very large car park, slight slope. Fantastic views & hike access to East Lyn River / Doone Country. Toilet block on site, always open (not cleaned regularly), in a separate building the Rambler's Cafe, which seems to be open around 10am-4pm. Stayed 2 nights with 3-4 vans. No bins, and we could not find the water tap mentioned in listing.

  • 5/5

  • 5/5

Brilliant place to stop over. Stunning views. Free parking overnight. Two other vans there when we stopped over. Nice quiet location.

  • 4/5

Great spot, free parking with very nice scenery. Stayed two nights, first night with two other motorhomes second alone. very quiet. Cafe only opened as we were leaving. the only drawback is a slight slope but tolerable at top and bottom ends.

  • 3/5

This is a lovely spot but with an older van and questionable handbrake at times I didn’t feel like it would be a good night sleep for me so decided to move on.

  • 2/5

  • 1/5

Not sure where this is. The postcode sent me down a single track road to a farmyard.

  • 3/5

ruhiger Platz, schöne Spaziergänge, Top Ausblick nach Wales

  • 5/5

Great stop, loads of space for any size vehicles. Not sure about the views as it's very foggy and raining! Definitely one to remember for the future though. If coming through Porlock though beware there is a ridiculous 25% hill out of the town!

  • 5/5

  • 5/5

The Ramblers Rest Tea Room, super Tearoom, Parkplatz, Toiletten, Bushaltestelle

  • 3/5

Great find. Stayed last night for free. But we will be leaving tonight and not staying a second night because the National Trust have just put a Pay By Phone sign in the carpark as we was coming back from a dog walk! So unsure if you van stay overnight now. No signs saying you can't mind. It's £5 a day or free if you're a National Trust member.

  • 5/5

stayed here last night...very quiet...one other van here...toilets arnt the cleanest but OK when needed...Good 3 reception and good TV reception...cafe was open when we got here about 15.00hrs... Great stop...would deffo use again

  • 4/5

Called in here today for lunch. The cafe is now open. Easy parking for all vehicles

  • 5/5

Stille nachten.

  • 5/5

Very good 1 night stay, great view and toilet facilities, only issue was, if you’re in a roof tent it was rather windy as on a hill, as to be expected really. May be a one off as wasn’t till 11pm but went on all night!

  • 5/5

Lovely spot, walks nearby, lovely view. Very busy car park on Saturday with coaches cars and campers. New tarmac with toilets behind the bus stop. Ground on a slight slope but easily sorted with levelling chocks. Overnight allowed, and FREE!

  • 5/5

Fantastic free spot, tarmac car park, lots of spaces, stunning views several CVs and MHs. Very peaceful nights sleep, occasional motorbike but soon quietened down. NT toilets open all the time, NB the shared toilet has a broken handle on the inside so a high chance of being unable to exit. We all used the disabled toilet was fine. Take your own toilet tissue in with you though as it soon ran out!

  • 5/5

Beautiful view to wake up to but road to get here from Minehead - A39 is hairy. 25% incline that continued for a LONG time with hairpin bend. Didn’t help it was dark.National trust site at top with toilets. National Trust staff confirmed o/n parking IS allowed at this designated parking area. Visited Heddon Valley National Trust the next day- BEAUTIFUL walk along river to beach, highly recommend!

  • 5/5

Beautiful spot! Flat enough, splendid views, no disturbances. Good, clean, working National Trust toilets open too. A great spot. Will come again!

  • 5/5

Still our favourite spot. Toilets open all night. large flat parking. Great views over the hills n u can hear a river running too. Great stats at night. Very very steep winding hill to get here though 25% incline.

  • 5/5

Nice quiet stop over night, beautiful views in the morning

  • 5/5

stayed here on new year's eve with 4 other vans. windy as hell. toilets open.

  • 5/5

Stayed overnight. Very windy but that didn’t stop us from having a good nights sleep. The car park is pretty big and is on a slight downward slope. Toilets in the corner of the car park. There’s a cool (slightly scary) walk along the ridge from the car park so ideal for our dog. Good 4G on EE.

  • 5/5

This is a lovely place to stay, with beautiful views. The ground is flat, and there isn’t any pot holes. There are toilets, but no bins, so take your rubbish with you, keep it clean!!

  • 5/5

Ppent our first night in our van here. Very peaceful stay over with incredible views - 2 other vans that left very early in the morning. Toilets adequate and perfectly usable.

  • 4/5

Definitely a great place to park for the night, just very exposed on the top of a hill and gets windy shaking the van. Not very many people stay over night but great for adventurers.

  • 5/5

just a wonderful place. so beautiful, extremely awesome views. spent last night here with 5 other camper vans. huge carpark. not 1 single piece of rubbish, let's keep it this way. leave only your footprint please

  • 5/5

Great place to stop over 5 vans here when arrived all stayed the night , views are amazing , toilets aren’t the cleanest but usable , would definitely recommend this place

  • 5/5

Good nights stop. 4 other vans in carpark. Slight slope on carpark but nothing to bad. Very quiet and got a good nights sleep. Will stop again when next passing

  • 5/5

Great 1 night stop here. 4 or 5 other vans overnight but still quiet. Toilets beside the spaces very handy thank you West Somerset CC. Nice walks nearby. Recommended.

  • 5/5

Camped overnight, after I hike down the StagHunters Inn, (recommended). 24hr toilets, bins and a view.

  • 5/5

Stayed for 1 night a few nights ago. Was a fantastic little spot. Though was quite windy. Not many cars going past after about 9pm

  • 5/5

stayed for one night was quite windy but we didn't mind toilets were clean good walks for dog nice and quiet very dark at night so bring a torch stunning views will call again

  • 5/5

Lovely spot! 24 hour toilets, good views and fairly flat, 3 other campers parked for the night . Was fairly windy but still a great spot

  • 5/5

Great place , lofely views and 24hr toilets. ideal base for exploring exmoor. more parkups with sea views on the left a couple of miles towards Porlock , if this carpark is busy. But please treat the area with respect and don't give them a reason to put the dreaded no camping signs up.

  • 5/5

Great place to park, toilets open 24 HR Stunning view of Exmoor and the coast. we had a very peaceful night here Site needs treating with respect otherwise I can foresee signs being installed banning overnight stays.

  • 5/5

Great spot. very quiet, as said in previous comments toilets arent the best but a godsend to have. 2 other vans already here when i arrived

  • 5/5

Great find by using the app. arrived about 6pm, 2 other vans already there, plenty of room. Stunning views of the valley and surrounding hills. Toilet facilities just by entrance, not the cleanest but usuable (take your own paper as none in any of the wc's. Good nights sleep, quiet and undisturbed. Had breakfast in the sunshine overlooking the valley. Great one night stop, no restriction signs.

  • 5/5

A really fantastic spot, stunning views and toilet facilities. would highly recommend

  • 5/5

One of our favourites so far. Amazing views and lovely coastal hikes, clean free toilets open all night, and very close to nearby towns. We stayed one night and hung out with some other campers which was a lot of fun, no issues from the warden who turned up in the morning. Very peaceful, safe and quiet.

  • 5/5

Great little quiet spot but don't attempt it if your vehicle is not good on steep hills, very steep winding road to get to it...very steep!

  • 5/5

Great spot! other than a few cars pulling up to take walks we were completely alone. toilets were open to our surprise which was amazing. beautiful views too

  • 5/5

Great place to stop for a night for free, loads of space to park and clean toilet block.

  • 5/5

Great as an overnight stop. Exmoor ranger came in twice and didn’t approach anyone parked here. Didn’t seem to care we were there. Would visit again if driving through. Beautiful views. Toilets well maintained.

  • 5/5

Great spot close to Lynton / Lynmouth - ideal for overnight stay to enjoy both places over two days.

  • 5/5

Stayed 2 nights gorgeous views and peaceful nights. Toilet was a bonus. Will return

  • 5/5

Lovely spot. The toilet was clean although had to bring my own toilet roll as they were out. Great view of the valley from the car park and a short walk will get you views of the sea. Not completely level but didn't bother us.

  • 5/5

We’ve been here 1 night it’s a good spot with nice view toilet clean keep like that :)

  • 5/5

Great spot, amazing views! Very peaceful

  • 5/5

Lovely park up with amazing views! Easy to get to and there was plenty of space - I stayed on a Bank Holiday and there was maybe 10 vans of varying sizes there overnight. Really quiet after about 2100hrs which was fab, and the toilets were open all night. Lots of walks (varying levels of steepness!) and a nice little tea shop down in Malmsmead. Will definitely stay here again.

  • 5/5

Large, near flat, peaceful with clean toilets. Great view too! Please look after this place!

  • 5/5

Amazing view and toilets open all night. Beautiful spot for seeing stars and lots of walking trails start here.

  • 5/5

Amazing view. Toilets were very clean! Lovely little circular walk approx half hour right from the car park. There were around 8 campers for the night when we stayed. Had internet connection but not great! Would stay again!

  • 5/5

Fantastic views and great toilets open Ben during Covid! Found a quiet spot on tarmac and had some excellent walks from there. Fully recommend

  • 5/5

Extraordinary view, free parking and 24hr toilets.

  • 4/5

Beautiful view - just seen a deer on the hills - let's keep this beautiful area beautiful - car park not too level but we have managed well without levellers

  • 5/5

Perfect overnight stop. Fantastic scenery, toilets open all night. Although no bins, the place was spotless, just bagged it and took it with us.

  • 5/5

Can be popular for overnighters as well as busy by day. We used it twice in September 2020 with no issues and up to eight other vans. No waste bins available but the site remains clear of any rubbish.

  • 5/5

Stayed here for 1 night along with two other campervans. Quiet night. Toilets open all night and cleaned first thing in the morning. Ideal over night spot.

  • 5/5

Lovely place, the views and walks are incredible. Spent two nights undisturbed here. Very windy one night, just moved out of the wind. Some others in vans and someone in a tent. Also toilets open all night :)

  • 5/5

Beautiful spot, had the place to ourselves. Toilets a bonus and open all night

  • 5/5

Great spot. Stayed for a night in July 2020. Good toilet facilities that were cleaned the next morning. No other people were there overnight. A few walks seem to lead from this spot. Beautiful drive through the area.

  • 5/5

Great location. toilets were clean. spent the day here would have stopped for the night only it was a very windy night. I'm in an old transporter and the hill climes tested the van and my nerves if was well worth it. leave it how you found it thanks

  • 5/5

Fabulous views of the valley and wasn’t disturbed all night!

  • 4/5

Great spot. Slight slope great views 4g good satellite lovey sounds birds sheep and the river in the valley

  • 5/5

Lovely site. Toilets are closed with sign saying it’s for maintenance but it looks a bit more permanent than that. Still s great stay with commanding views and plenty of Atlantic fresh air.

  • 5/5

Brilliant place to park for the night. Very steep roads either side of the moor, be careful in wet or icy conditions!

  • 5/5

A great free stop with beautiful views and lovely walks! Toilet block a bonus!

  • 5/5

Been her loads times great place if clear an fine but gets really windy so if stopping then point youre front to the wind and ifine and lovely but only to be expected from highest point in devon

  • 4/5

    Very peaceful

  • 5/5

Brilliant place...stayed New Years Eve 2017/18

  • 4/5
