The Houghton Arms Pub allows free motorhome stop overs on the car park. It is 1minute off the M65. Excellent food and beer although there is a fair amount of road noise. Dog friendly too!

Stopped the night on Saturday 13th September 2025. Lots of room on the carpark. The staff and owner were very friendly and welcoming. Food was 2nd to none. 3 courses for £30. Access to the toilets were left open at the back until around midnight. parked near the beer garden. ( electric hook up. was.cheeky enough to put the outside lights on to them ) Both me and the missus had a great sleep.
Stayed last night 09/07/2025.. Staff where extremely helpful and food was absolutely lovely .. Bit of road noise but nothing a Gin didn't sort out .. Will be staying again . Dog friendly also ..
Super pub stopover, slept well despite it being close to the motorway. Great food and friendly staff. Stayed over the Friday night then drove 10 minutes to Witton parkrun.
Excellent place, clean, tidy, very respectable & nice walks nearby especially by the canal.
Very nice pub. Super dog friendly inside, Road is quiet after about 10pm and not that noisy before really. Bought a drink. Also able to use WiFi if parked close by building
Hele vriendelijke mensen! zo blij mee. hierheen gevlucht na tegenvallen andere locatie. mensen waren aardig en begripvol. Geluid van de weg totaal geen last van gehad. heerlijk veilig kunnen slapen. alleen maar lof.
Nothing else to add to previous reviews. Only issue is nowhere quiet to park from busy main road during day but after 11 ish a quiet night. No motorway noise. Very friendly owners, invited us back any time. Friday special for 2 pints of beer for £7.00 between 4-7pm.
good pub, decent food and friendly staff. no problem at all to sleep in the car park if buying food or drink inside the pub. plenty parking spots. just make sure to tell the staff
Even welcome in a big lorry conversion and plenty of space to park. Despite being so close to M65 there is minimal road noise and we always get a quiet night sleep. Nice pub with good beer, good food and super friendly atmosphere. It's more than dog friendly, they love dogs. Only need to buy a couple of beers but only polite to eat if you stay (Sunday roast is particularly good)
Me and my partner stopped here for one night in our small van and think it is a cracking little spot. Messaged the pub on Facebook before we stopped and they confirmed that we were fine to do so. Pub serves great food & we had a few of drinks too. One other van stopped overnight. Little bit of road noise but nothing significant - slept from 11pm til 7am no trouble. Fully recommend this spot :)
A good stopover, excellent food and staff. pRk to the right of the main building, it is better screened from road noise however this isn't a problem on a night time.
Lekker gegeten en geslapen. Hadden de campervan aan de terras kant geplaatst daardoor minder last van geparkeerde auto’s en andere gasten. Wel hoorde je dan de muziek van het terras maar vonden wij niet storend
Spent the weekend here, lovely little spot conveniently located just off the motorway. The food was great and the staff are super friendly.
Great place to stay overnight. Would definitely stay and eat again. Great food, drinks and all around amazing place. We called ahead and asked the owner if we could stay, he said of course, legend, and we just had a delicious dinner. Free wifi, use of toilets until close.

Called to check, the pub is not currently open but they said were OK with us using their car park. - How motorhome friendly! Pub looks great - slightly disappointed not to be able to have a drink.
