Free but directly adjacent to a road along which cars drive at speed - the available space only just fits a van/moho’s width. There have been numerous vans parked here overnight - from 19/07/25 there will be no parking for motorhomes and camper vans between 08:00-20:00 hours, enforced with fines.
Erstaunlich ruhige Nacht, dafür dass man an der Strasse steht.
A good stopover, would stay again. Close to bus stop, £2 to Brighton pier. Nice café 3 mins drive, Roedean café.
About 2m-width free parking by the road. A few other vans & motorhomes about. Good stay for day & overnight, though can be intensely windy (November)

Kamen m Dunkeln an und warten heute früh vom Anblick der Schafe und Felder überrascht. Sehr guter Platz für eine Nacht auf dem Weg von / nach Brighton
Bin mit dem Fahrrad nach Brighton gefahren. Aber übernachtet habe ich hier nicht. Ist direkt an der Straße.
fantastic little spot to park to cook yourself some food or maybe take a shower or had a good sort through your motorhome or camper. I would not recommend staying overnight it is right next to the road.
Direkt neben einer Straße wo Autos sehr schnell fahren - das eigene Auto vibriert dann sogar etwas. Etwas schräge Lage. Blieben nicht über Nacht aber für eine Nacht wäre es eine Option.
stayed here for the day only. very busy with passing traffic but the Rottindean Windmill is worth seeing (5min walk) and the undercliff walk way on Ovingdean beach which is about a 10mins walk.
Have stayed at this location over the years, I stopped here on Wednesday night - sadly now you wake up to a polite letter under your wiper from the Traveller liaison team offering a free welfare check as well as advising you’re on council land and need to move. That said there are a number of vans still here and you do sleep well
Discretion is required if you stay here! Don’t blow it for others! Also road is very busy, dangerous for dogs and kids! The van shakes every time car passes!
Quiet lay by. Lots of dog walkers come and go here. There's quite a few walkers. Sea view too! A fair bit of local traffic with van rocking when they go past is the only gripe
