Absolute gem in a lovely friendly town, lots to see, museums, steam trains, nice shops pubs etc, despite only two dedicated motorhome bays we were the only ones there overnight, Elsan point by marina, public toilets opposite, only £6.10 to park all day, free overnight, would definitely visit again and recommend.

  • 5/5

What a spot?£6.10 all day parking and free 18.00 to 9.00. Very quiet night and only disturbed at 7.00 by normal traffic. Right in the centre of town, friendly locals, what’s not to love, we’ll be back.

  • 3/5

Free to park overnight. Sadly, it was really noisy. Water fountain behind the toilets. Close to the shops. Didn't get a good night's sleep. But it's a great location.

  • 2/5

Either it has been changed to permit parking or the map took me to the wrong place. Followed directions with a view to stay the night, and I was brought into a residence car park with signs saying to display parking permits. I did see on the ground that lines had been burnt off and new ones painted. I think my mapping system must have taken me to the wrong place.

  • 4/5

just 2 spaces which are in high demand. both occupied when we arrived but a very kind guy from one waved us down as we were leaving to say he was going. thanks! £6.10 for a full day 09-18:00. free overnight no restriction signs very quiet. you might try 51.181772,-3.322610 in a small motorhome if you can't get in here

  • 5/5

we came lete on a Sunday night with small camper and trailer the 2 motorhome bays were already taken but the normal parking spots were fine with people already parked for the night. was a nice quiet stay and lovely friendly locals, plenty of local shops open late and plenty to do.

  • 4/5

Spent a night here, fairly quiet most of the night with a few noisy lads from the pubs occasionally. Overall a pretty good stopover.

  • 4/5

Both motorhome spaces were taken so we used a normal space, fitting our wheels inside the lines and overhanging a little both front and back (we are in 6m Benimar Mileo 201). Still free from 6pm to 8am. 24hrs is only £6.10. Staying 2 nights as so much to do here. Live music at several places, quirky museums and shops, steam trains alongside parking area, lovely cafés and pubs. Do come.

  • 4/5

Very convenient location for visiting Watchet. We spent the night here and it was quiet. Plenty of pubs within walking distance with very friendly locals. No car park in Watchet has a sea view

  • 5/5

Love this spot, well done Watchet for encouraging motorhomes. We've spent £20 on drinks at Pebbles Tavern (renowned locally) & another £50 at the brilliant Indian. Literally yards from the harbour & seafront. Happy days

  • 5/5

Toilets plus chemical dump point in harbour masters building next door

  • 3/5

schöner Stellplatz direkt am Bahnhof der SWR mit Dampflok.Schönes Städchen mit kleinen typischen Geschäften von 18 - 9 Uhr kostenlos

  • 4/5

Lovely car park in nice little town. Very camper friendly and felt safe, nice and quiet through the night. Toilets close at 8pm but a few pubs nearby for a drink and wee. We especially liked the Peddlers Inn with a live folk band!

  • 5/5

We live in Watchet and with the closure of the B3191 (cliff erosion), the town is suffering a bit of a downturn in visitors. Watchet wants you to visit and has plenty of overnight spaces in the main car park (up to 5.5mtrs) and a couple for longer vans. It's a fun place and friendly all year round. As motorhomers ourselves we'd recommend it.

  • 5/5

Really easy access to the town. 2 bays for larger campers but plenty of spaces in the associated car park for smaller vans. Toilets locked overnight but open at 8am.

  • 5/5

How marvelous to find a council that welcomes motorhomes and doesn't ban overnight parking! All 3 car parks are ok overnight, and Watchet is a lovely place with many pubs, cafe's and restaurants. Only 2 bays for 7m plus vans, but loads for smaller. Free 6pm to 8am. Please, councils, can we have more of these?

  • 5/5

Excellent! Well done to the local council! For allowing overnight parking, toilets on the car park 8-8pm parking charges apply 9am -6pm only. I’d pay for overnight if needed as such a great spot. Had a walk around the harbour this morning and the market stalls were setting up, unfortunately we had to leave early but we’ll definitely be back. Lovely place. Road sleeper a great alarm too 6:30 ;-)

  • 5/5

Also rail way behind you and steam train runs now and then ! Toilets right next to parking … also found a few other places close by in car parks to park MH .

  • 5/5

  • 5/5

another example of how good this app is. Never would have found this spot any otherwise. Luckily when we arrived one of the 2 bays was free. Easy to get to and easy to park in bay, even for our 28ft motorhome. Had a look around the harbour and enjoyed some great fish & chips. Even got to watch a steam train leaving the station.

  • 5/5

2 agréables emplacements près du port et d'un bar avec vue sur la mer. Ville calme le soir. Mais pas isolé.

  • 5/5

Great little spot for a night, arrived late so woke up the next morning with a lovely view of the harbour. Right in the town so easy to use the local shops to stock up the van and support the local economy.

  • 5/5

Well done Watchet! Great place to visit and stay in your van. The motorhome spaces were full so we stayed overnight in a blue badge space next to them. ( I have a badge) Nice and level. Had a great meal in the London Inn. Visited the beaches and the quay in the morning. Will definitely be back!

  • 5/5

Arrived at 7.30pm, two motorhome bays were full, so parked in adjacent carpark and pay by phone until 10am following morning for £1.50, bargain! Toilets open until 8pm, clean and tidy, some lovely pubs to visit , try the Pebbles. Would visit again! Lovely walk down to the harbour approx 2mins Restful night, there was a steam train earlier in eve, but not through the night

  • 5/5

Excellent spot. Used one of the motorhome spaces. Excellent for harbour, town and steam train station. 4G on all our networks.

  • 5/5

Great little stopover place , down by the harbour . Clean toilets close by . Free to park overnight . Do go and spend some money in the town . There a very cute funky little pub in town , worth a visit .

  • 5/5

Arrived Friday afternoon in February to find both motorhome spots taken. After reading another review, managed to park mostly in a car spot and paid for 24 hours. Lovely little seaside town, friendly locals... We loved it.

  • 5/5

what a great stop. very quiet (out of season)and lovely walks around the village. We nipped over the railway crossing, walked up a lane and found a fabulous chippy Andrews Fish& chips.Would definitely come back again.

  • 5/5

Perfect place to park in a lovely little harbour town. Plan to go back again when not a BH Monday as everything was closed. Parked further up on the flat bit in a SWB so could fit in a standard bay, even though one of the designated camper bays was available. Had a really peaceful night, slept really well & felt totally safe. Would park up here again

  • 5/5

Excellent stop over. The Indian restaurant recommended too

  • 5/5

Practically a perfect park up. A slight slope, and a quick chat with the harbour master allowed us access to the elsan point. Winter parking meant it was free from 6pm - 9am, so we added a couple of hours on in the morning and went for a look round the free Boat Museum. Top tip, there's a QR town trail on the Boat Museum noticeboard, which lead to a wander around a really interesting little town.

  • 5/5

Two large dedicated motorhome parking bays on slope to front. Public toilets 50 yards away. Pay by phone parking app can be used £2.70 4hours £5.20 all day Free 6pm to 9am Nice sign to show you layout and features of the town

  • 4/5

Great to see a dedicated motorhome park spot. Loved the town really friendly locals and no problems getting the OK to empty waste and fill with water at Marina. We stayed Guy Fawkes night on a Saturday so there was a bit of noise at closing time but no problems.

  • 5/5

Lovely overnight stay in one of the 2 Campervan bays. Water point by the public toilets and Elsan point in the marina if you ask for permission from the office first.

  • 3/5

Stayed here last week. Too late for the designated 2 spaces so we just parked in the car park as we fitted in a space OK. Left before 9am for a free night. Peaceful. Toilets closed in the evening.

  • 4/5

We were luckily enough to get a ‘motor caravan’ spot tho we had to chock the van as it’s on a slight incline. Nice and quiet at night. Plenty to see and do in the surrounding area with a regular bus to Minehead. Only £5.50 to park all day. Recommended.

  • 5/5

Amazing place, very quiet in the night, proper 4G and a cozy city.

  • 5/5

Great spot for an overnight stay in the town. The 2 designated camper spaces were taken but the harbour office said we were OK to park in normal bay even though we were slightly over 2 bays. There is a water dispenser for filling up bottles and a chemical waste at the harbour office which they allowed us to use. Good choice of pubs, an indian and a lovely welcome from all, well done Watchet.

  • 5/5

fantastic park up stayed 2 nights in this lovely town. full of history...toilets close by with dedicated drinking water tap.dont forget a visit to pebbles pub.. good fish and chips in the village also an Indian restaurant.

  • 5/5

still love this little town. 2 purpose spots for campers but always see other campers using the other spots too. always peaceful.

  • 4/5

On 15/7/21. See photo of charges, as area regularly patrolled and penalty tickets issued ! Currently next to a building site for a large visitor centre. Steam trains pass along back of area, station adjacent

  • 4/5

Great location, £5.50 for 24 hours if arriving before 1800. Lots to do, good walks and a very nice Cider bar that takes dogs, nice and quiet overnight, would certainly recommend.

  • 5/5

  • 5/5

    Great spot - close to everything , it’s about 8 £ all night …

  • 5/5

Nice spot no services and on a slope very quiet..stayed there for a week while working in the harbour..nice to fine a spot where you can stay over night £5.50 for 24 hrs or £25.00 for 7 days (24 hrs days )

  • 5/5

Great spot in a lovely little town. Two spaces charged at a reasonable rate - £5.50 24Hrs. The nearby Helwell Bay (aka Fossil Beach) is a must visit !

  • 4/5

Had a night here, undisturbed nights sleep. very quiet place at the moment I would imagine due to covid. Great to find a carpark that doesn't have a no overnight policy. would definitely return.

  • 5/5

Lovely spot in a lovely town. Lots of local shops to visit and good views from the harbour. Certainly worth day and night visit.

  • 5/5

Beautiful place, great parking for or all sizes. Right on the railway. Can't wait to come back when the trains are running.

  • 5/5

Exactly as described. My small (5m) Romahome fitted just into a normal space. Three other motorhomes there with me. Quiet night, no trouble and seats by the harbour made for a pleasant morning. Wish other towns did the same.

  • 2/5

Disappointed after driving all the way there only to find both bays occupied. Wanted to visit the town and railway but ended up going elsewhere. If the council is listening might I suggest a few more Motorhome bays?

  • 5/5

Huge spaces for 2 motorhomes. Lovely little area too! No restrictions mentioned so, currently cooking dinner after a lovely walk around the harbour!

  • 4/5

There are two dedicated (sloping) bays for longer campervans / motorhomes - but if they are occupied you can stay overnight on the flatter part of the carpark which is also free after 6pm. Charge for daytime parking from 9am to 6pm in May 2019 was £5 I assume this is per parking bay so you may need to pay for two bays if you have a longer vehicle.
