Zone de camping magnifique au bord d’un lac et d’un ruisseau. L’accès est limité à 2 m de largeur car la route est très étroite. La zone de parking est vaste avec de nombreux emplacements plats et des moutons.

Beautiful camping area by a lake (called Llyn Cwm Buchan) and a stream. The access is limited to 2 m wide because the road is very narrow, you have to go through a gate to get down the lane. The parking area is vast with many flat pitches and sheep. It is at the foot of the Roman Steps which is a walk which takes you up into the Rhinog mountains.

Wunderschöner Campingplatz an einem See und Bach. Der Zugang ist auf 2 m Breite begrenzt, da die Straße sehr eng ist. Der Parkplatz ist groß mit vielen flachen Stellplätzen und Schafen.

Lovely spot. Farmer pulled us out, as we got stuck in the mud...Expect it will be busy in summer. There were two other campervans and two tents when we were there. The access road is absolutely doable. What is NOT absolutely doable, is when you follow the satnav, when coming from Harlech!!

Pictures don't do it justice this place is a hidden gem beautiful reservoir, amazing scenary, sallow stream running through the campsite, great walk on the roman steps, £5pp pn no facilities flat ground, we took dogs there is sheep wondering around. FYI : the roads leading to this site are single track would not advise caravans or motor homes, be prepared to have to reverse back.

What a beautiful location, thank you to the farmer who's made it possible to stay here! Only £5 for the night (in an honesty box, please pay if you stay to keep it open for all to enjoy) I had the place to myself last night! Had a bit of fun getting out today with flooded roads after raining for 24 hours, but it was worth it. Will definitly be back here on the coming months.

A fantastic spot. A lovely quiet parking/camping area in the middle of nature. We parked here for the day whilst hiking roman steps and rhinog Fawr. Wished we hadn't booked another campsite and stayed for the night instead. £3 car parking. £5 van parking. £5 a person for the night. Access is by a single track Lane. You have to go through a gate to get there.

Highly recommended! Photos don’t do it justice! Don’t be put off by the comments about the tight road. I drove an extra long wheel base Mercedes sprinter to this site and it was fine! Bound to get branches and vegetation against the van but the road IS achievable in a sprinter. Such a beautiful place to camp out for the night or even a few days as there’s a fair few walks/hikes around.

Wow. Not many places like this available in UK. Well worth the exciting drive but take your time and pray you don’t meet anything as the road will test you even if you’re the only vehicle on it. Low branches, boulders and vegetation are keen to get you on the way. Great location for Roman Steps and Rhinogs. Lake is fine for kayak or canoe. There are no facilities whatsoever so go prepared.

Quiet and remote. Runs on a cash only honesty box - no facilities, no shower, no toilet so really wild. It does make you question who or what you’re paying for. There is a tap inside the barn but I spoke to the farmer feeding his sheep and he said they don’t offer water, but he let me use it. So I wouldn’t bank on that. It is absolutely stunning scenery so if you’re up for a really remote and back to nature camp, this is a great spot.

The drive up is a little tricky but absolutely worth it, the view is stunning! Be aware there is no service up there.

An extraordinary view! Driving there is a little tricky but worth it. I think it’s very important to say that there is no cell phone reception at all. So be sure that you don’t need to need to contact anybody.

Our rating isn’t on the parking but we couldn’t get there. There’s a gate that was closed when we attended last night and didn’t feel confident enough to open considering nothing on here about a gate? It’s a beautiful area with a small parking spot further back which we used. But the lake would be lovely if we could have gotten there.

Amazing remote spot. £5/person/night for the honesty box. Drive up is a little sketchy but not as bad as others have made out - the road is very quiet and large vans can make it all the way up.

  • 5/5

Absolutely cracking spot with amazing views, and so worth the nerve jangling drive along the narrow road. Make sure you have a £5 note for the honesty box to camp overnight.

Stunning location , fire pits dotted around. Quite busy with around 10 other campers, but enough space all around. No signal. Perfect. The narrow road was terrifying, thankfully we didn't meet any other vehicles, we had a vw t5, very tight in some spots along the road, I wouldn't recommend anything wider.

Amazing place. We were looking for something off the beaten track and this was perfect. Its a tight squeeze up the roads - our Citroën Discovery made it with ease but it does mean only the brave will make it. parking with sheep running around and a beautiful view of the lake. there are firepits so bring some wood with you and of course there are no other facilities or services.

  • 5/5

Amazing spot if you're in a small van or car, and are entirely self contained. Really good company there, but it needs some bravery on the road, and a spare binbag or two- a few lazy people take the shine off the place when they leave stuff about. dogs, sheep, lake, no massive motorhomes, no signal. gorgeous.

  • 3/5

Would seriously discourage anything wider than 2m and longer than 5m. Most of the passing spots are for two cars so impossible for two vans. Spot is beautiful but larger campers are causing dangerous situations. You may have to reverse a long way if you meet another vehicle.

Beautiful area but the road is very narrow as stated in other comments. We personally wouldn’t recommend anything bigger than a T5 size of you value your paintwork.

  • 5/5

Amazing wilderness spot, so peaceful. Slow meander along the stream from the main road on the west coast with stunning stops on the way to the site. Site itself has lovely view of the lake and is nice and flat. Basically wild camping but without the risk of being asked to move on!

No amenities & a narrow single track with gated & passing places along the way however the peace & quiet & potentials for hikes and climbs from here are fabulous.

  • 5/5

Amazing place to stay. Beautiful surroundings. Roads in are very narrow but worth it. No phone signal.

Stunning place to stay, for a night or 2.
