A few cars come and go throughout the night and early morning and the road can be loud, but it's safe and offers a view with a great sunset. Excellent stop for one night!

Noisy day and night. Near a village, many cars and few people passing by. It has a great sight to the fields. To overnight I recommend another place near Compton Bishop, just 5 minutes, quite and safe.

Good park up quiet after 10pm

A good little lay-by off a fairly busy road, screened by matured trees. A dedicated 'picnic' area with a table and bin and a lovely view. Enough space for 4/5 campers. Popular with dog walkers. Traffic noise lessens by 10p.m and is almost non existent during the night (I'm a light sleeper and was undisturbed). It picks up again by 7a.m. A good spot for a night.

Only a little park up, but room for a several small vans if parked efficiently. I got here at 7pm and there was one other. Another arrived later on. Pretty quiet for saying its on a main road. Few motorbikes and boy racers came by with it being a Saturday night, but nothing of any concern. Personally as a solo female, id rather a bit of noise and know theres people around, than total silence

Quiet night, nice enough views over levels and 2 litter bins. It is a short walk along Cycle Route 26 into Medieval town of Axbridge with some Medieval buildings and lovely Church. This is not a small layby so room for several vans without upsetting other users

Horrible. Can’t see it vould be mentioned as an option. Very small and very very noisy.

  • 4/5

Spent a night there last night. Great views and some but minimal disruption from lads in cars and the main road, all quiet from about 10pm. Loads of early blackberries for breakfast too!

Our first night experiencing camping in the van was spent here. Considering it was a Saturday night it was fairly quiet even with the roads so close. The car park cleared up around midnight. There's a nice little bench area and the view was amazing. Dog walkers started arriving around 0800 on the Sunday morning.

Great views, pretty peaceful considering the location to main road.

  • 5/5

A bit busy but it's okay. not a hidden spot, it's more like for 1 night

1st time stopping out and didn’t know what to expect but apart from the road noise which wasn’t as bad as I thought it was a very nice place to park up over night. Lots of space, nice views and a nice walk especially for the dog.

Nice and flat with stunning views, yes it’s a little close to the road but we had a great nights sleep. We shared the spot with 2 others and even though our Motorhome is 8m long we had tons of space. Nice little trail away from the road which was handy for the dogs. Great if your just looking for a quick overnight stopover.

Great view. There is bins but saw lots of rats around them at night which is expected, it’s not a dirty area though. A little bit of road noise but nothing excessive at night

  • 4/5

Some noise from passing traffic but more than offset by lovely view.

  • 4/5

Great views very noisy due to main road but not causing me problems

I've been parking overnight since the 70's. i used to park the caravan here aswell, whilst we awaited the caravan park to open. its great for an overnighter. a bit noisy due to the main road, but no complaints from me

In general a good spot. essentially it feels like a lay by with good views! loud road.

  • 4/5

A little noisy and a fairly busy spot, lots of cars coming and going until 11pm. Great walks nearby and handy location too though!

  • 4/5

Stopped one night with lots of space and nice views. One other there. It’s a little noisy until 11pm or so with the main road behind the hedges, but was good all round with a bin for rubbish.

  • 4/5

Stopped one night, plenty of space, bench with a lovely view. Road is noisy but not enough to keep you awake at night. If you hear screaming in the night don't worry, it's only the local foxes!

I've stayed here numerous times and it's relatively quiet. There are 3 good sized spaces parking at 90° to the edge. Watch the big stones. The other couple of spaces are along the side of the lay-by but you need to be aware of the morning walkers and cyclists as they inadvertently can block you in. No services but great views and the Strawberry Route for cycling and walking is very popular.
