There are 2 main car parks one in front of the water and the other next to fields and cafe. 24hour car park at both areas. picnic areas and dog friendly plus dog free areas something for everyone.

Excellent place with walks and good view of the river. Well used by people walking and dog walkers. Stayed there during some of the day and into the evening. Was planning to stay the night but the local boy racers turned up with music pumping from 750pm. Decided to move on. I would imagine in the week they would typically be gone by 11 but I doubt that would be the case at the weekends. Good cell reception.

here now awesome little spot absolutely nobody about bliss ohh blue badge holders it's free for us

  • 5/5

quite with just the odd car and dog walkers. It's now £5 for overnight parking. Visitors centre has toilets but close when the centre does so you need to check. There is an external water tap which you can use anytime.

  • 1/5

Full of doggers and boy racers and now £5 a day to park bit of a rip off

  • 3/5

Got to the car park around 9.30pm. Quite a few cars there with music blaring. So decided to move the van just outside The Tap Pub on the road which was fine.

  • 4/5

Lovely spot, very quiet with easy access to the cycle paths. spent a Saturday night Sunday morning parked, great spot if you are visiting Liverpool.

  • 5/5

Stayed here last night. paid £2 for last night and £2 this morning. lovely and peaceful. busy with dog walkers until early evening. sound nights sleep. and yes we drove away and left the dogs bowls and step.

  • 4/5

No issues, good spot. We were the only overnighters as the few cars that were there were gone by about 11.30pm (only two planes went over and it was early on so didn't wake us and the boat that chugged by at 5am wasn't too loud really; I just wasn't sleeping well for general reasons), I would use this spot again.

  • 4/5

Lovely area in quaint village and right by the water. Cheap parking through the day and no signs for not staying overnight. Lots of dog walkers about as it’s a lovely place to walk around. Cafe nearby

  • 5/5

Large flat car park, plenty of room for a motorhome and no height restrictions, no overnight warning signs. Very nice spot with a gazillion squirrels!! Never seen so many - locals feed them a TON of nuts though so that’s why. The Tap is a fantastic bikers pub and a short walk, ice cream van always present. Great views of the sea (right next to it) & Liverpool across it. Woodland, picnic benches and large grass areas. Wonderful :)

  • 4/5

Great place to stop....if you are hearing impaired, which I am! Boats chugging, planes landing across the Mersey, the odd car with loud music. Lovely walks for dogs and humans. Interesting history to the place. a pub, a hotel restaurant and a cafe near by but closed when I was here which also wasn't a problem - no crowds! No parking charge. No anti overnight stop signs.

  • 3/5

Lovely spot, great view of the Mersey over to Liverpool, down the road from a top pub (the Bikers are a friendly bunch, don't be put off), bins there. There is a bit of activity at night, comings and goings, young people meeting etc. as you night expect near where lots of people live. It is on the flight path for aircraft coming into JLA so a bit of noise, likewise shipping on the river.

  • 3/5

Refering to my earlier comm ent, I'm hoping in warmer lighter evenings there'll be more Motor homes and the likes of this couple go elsewhere. The music was more a nuisance than the other activity.

  • 3/5

It was a good place until a young couple turned up at 7 with 80 decibels of music on their car stereo. I went to the pub for a call of nature and when I got back about 7.30 they were hard at it in the back...they got somewhat agitated when my torch caught them in the back so, I departed to another quieter pub and I parked there overnight on the promise of buying lunch the next day(not necessary?)

    Stayed here good veiws quiet

  • 5/5

This is my local woods I take the dogs every other night. There’s 2 car parks, one along the edge of the estuary with 15 spaces and another larger one in the woods itself. Both must be fairly quiet late at night. Weekends you get a few tokers in there. 2 pubs are good. The tap is a biker pub, the ferry is more family. A good spot for families with dogs in the day. I’ve literally no idea how it is at night but the set up is fab and loads of stuff about

  • 4/5

Parked here last night 9/11. Was a good spot. not very busy except for couple kids messing with fireworks but expect any other time of year this wouldnt be a problem. not good if light sleeper as ships and planes all night. park at bottom car park as mych flatter and nice views. bins, toilets, picnic tables etc nearby.

  • 3/5

Parked here for he night September 4th 2019, appears to be a place for the horny peeps to hang out, in the late evening. Had a knock on the door at 0:40am from the local Police (2 nice chaps) mainly checking that the van wasn’t Stolen as it isn’t register in this area and ‘why would you pick Wirral to park up’ lol not my words. There is a Pub at the entrance along with an information centre which i didn’t utilise either.

  • 3/5

Arrived around 10 o’clock in the night to a few kids who must of only just learnt to drive blasting music and beeping horns, didn’t leave till midnight but then had a peaceful night besides from ships and planes flying over and past. Great views and walks to wake Upto

  • 5/5

A nice spot, not too many places for a large motorhome on the bottom carpark by the water but there is a larger, higher carpark near the toilets. Busy with walkers etc from 6.30am onwards..

  • 5/5

Great spot to overnight. free after 6.30pm to 8am but only £2 all day anyway. toilets at the info centre close at 4pm. fresh water tap outside the info centre. three cafes and a pub on the door step but if you park along the river there is no background noise. lovely for walking dogs in the woods.

  • 5/5

Top place to stay, nice view, easy parking, really liked it. A bit of plane traffic over it, if it disturbes someone. Nice park around to play, full if nice squirrels, perfect for kids.

  • 3/5

Très joli mais franchement trop de passage, réveillée 3 fois dans la nuit par des voitures.

  • 3/5

Good site, easy to find, as described by others no charge, we car camped for the first time ever. Very friendly The Tap pub just down the lane. Good view of passing shipping. A few passing cars into the early hours but no bother to us. Cooked breakfast outside using my ghillie kettle. The woodlands are probably lovely for a walk but other places were on our list this time!

  • 4/5

Nice and relatively quiet although popular with dog walkers during day so a bit of coming and going. Quiet after dark with the odd car coming in and then back out. The most level spaces are not in the main carpark but in the smaller one (head straight at the little roundabout instead of turning left to where the rangers office and toilets are.) 2pound to park from 8 am to 18:30. Theres no charge between 18:30 and 8 Am and no signs prohibiting overnights

  • 4/5

Bel endroit nature et très plaisant pour une étape tranquille le long de la Mersey. En effet aucune mention de "no overnight" et n'avons pas été inquiétés (mi-août). A recommander

  • 4/5

    Fantastic overnight,lovely views and wildlife.
