Belle aire de repos loin de la route principale. Habituellement beaucoup d'autres campeurs autour.

Nice lay-by well off the main road. Usually plenty of other campers around.

Mooie lay-by ver van de hoofdweg. Meestal genoeg andere kampeerders in de buurt.

Nice quiet spot, only 1 other vehicle when I stayed in late March. Food van across the road and 24hr toilets a short walk.

  • 4/5

Great little overnight stop. Pleasant 5min walk in to Kirby Lonsdale. Snack Bar and public toilets beside Devil's Bridge (50p). Lots of good quality pubs and eateries. We highly recommend the Sun Inn, Botanica, Kirby Lonsdale Brewery Tap.

  • 5/5

Stunning river walk to the village, plenty of parking in autumn and winter. Struggled to find any gluten free food. Lots of wildlife around the river banks.

  • 4/5

Belle aire personnes à cette période un peu de bruit de la route mais supportable bien

  • 3/5

Still occupied by the travelling community. was a mess they had light fires against the wall. we did a sharp exit

  • 4/5

Stayed 1 night Wednesday with my dog very quiet joined by 1 van owner and 3 wagons already settled nice quiet spot, lots of walking and water along with the beautiful village

  • 4/5

A quiet spot, we were one of 3 vans plus a HGV just further along. Close to the village and its amenities and the historic bridge over the River Lune.

  • 4/5

Seems to have been taken over by some long term travellers. A bit untidy now with signs of a few open fires. We weren't disturbed overnight and if it wasn't for the temperature we would have had a good night's sleep

Good little stop. Nice riverside walk to town of Kirby Lonsdale (10 to 15 mins). Plenty of pubs and restaurants in town. Very popular spot for motorbikes on a weekend (seperate parking). Some road noise. I've uploaded a picture to show the area will be used by Travellers heading to Appleby horse fair on specific dates in June.

  • 5/5

Plenty of space for a good 6 or 7 large campervans/motorhomes. Please make sure you leave no litter behind, as the council could quite easy bring this little stayover to an end.

  • 5/5

great spot by the busy road but not much road noise in van happy days

  • 5/5

Super place for an overnight stop then walk into Kirkby Lonsdale for a look at the town. Great for dog walkers and check out Devils Bridge.

  • 5/5

Stayed 2 nights, Friday/Saturday, busy during the day with people visiting Devils Bridge, quiet at night time, maybe 2/3 other campers. Parking is spacious, easily get up to 10 campers comfortably. No services, just a bin but there is a burger van on Devils Bridge and toilets for 40p contactless but locked at nighttime. 15 minute walk into Kirby Lonsdale for shops, pubs and takeaways

15/07/22 - Spent two nights here. It was quiet at night well besides one neighbour blasting out music. Flat decent sized spaces. Got rammed during the day lots of litter left. Disgusting amounts of little left around banks under the bridge despite there being plenty of bins. Leave no trace, It’s a free park up do a bit of litter picking. Would be a shame for restrictions to come in even if it isn’t vans causing the mess.

First night wild camping on our way to Coniston. Great little spot, very quiet with a few other vans and a wagon. Walked round and cleared some litter.

  • 4/5

Parked here last night. Quiet. 2 other vans. Great place to explore. Kirkby Lonsdale has some great independent shops and coffee shops, lovely river walk in to market town.

  • 5/5

So, at the weekend, parking by the butty bar is for motorcycles only! Bar informed me that if warden comes round vehicles, other than motorcycles, WILL BE TICKETED. However, it was full of cars and a large motor home. I moved my van and used the free parking opposite butty bar. No 'No overnight camping' signs. Stunning place. Can confirm all comments below. And the burger was outstanding. :-)

  • 5/5

Great little spot just off the road. Not too much road noise. The only noise we experienced was from a group of travellers in 4 motorhomes who fired up their generator and speaker to play music at 10 pm! Devils Bridge was an added attraction. A small walk to local pubs, shops etc. Free parking at all times. No signs to say no overnight camping. There are public toilets on the bridge. Nice area to walk dogs.

Cosy little spot heard the odd lorry driver but nothing major. Reccomend as a pit stop

  • 5/5

Stayed here last night, handy stop off place. Very quiet with a few other vans. Just waiting for the butty van to open now!!

  • 5/5

Very handy little stopover. Plenty of room and well off the main road (although the road isn’t busy at night anyway). Few other campers here too. Just beware not to get too close to the two lorry spots if a fridge trailer turned up like last night :)

  • 3/5

Excellent place but school run buses park up there for the day, about 6 of them taking 6 bays each. best to arrive before 8.30am or after 15.30 pm to be able to park up.

  • 5/5

Really handy parking spaces right on the edge of Kirkby, toilets now 40p, machine accepts contactless. I felt really safe, and enjoyed fish and chips from the local chippy. No tap any more. Really hope the town keeps these spaces open! 19/2/21

A very nice quiet overnight spot , nice walk along river to town. popular spot with 6 vans here overnight

  • 4/5

A great find, FREE parking bays set on a one way country lane just outside Kirby Lonsdale, which is a gentle 10/15 minute stroll over the original Devil’s bridge, past the mobile catering van. We had an excellent bacon balm for £3.25 each to set us up for the day followed by cakes from local bakery. Toilets on route if you don’t have your own. Busy when we arrived on Saturday pm but managed to find a space, by early evening it had cleared & was practically empty when we returned for the night. Only one other campervan with us over night. Quiet, felt safe & would stay there again.

  • 5/5

Lovely little stop over. Pulled in as I saw a FREE PARKING sign, unknown to me its listed on here. Marked bays, like others say mostly flat. Unfortunately I can't locate the tap, but as this is a stop on the way home we will make do.

  • 4/5

A large area, mostly flat, which is really convenient for walking/cycling into or around Kirkby Lonsdale. Like other comments, it is usually busy during the day but empties towards the evening. Last night (3rd August) there was only one other camper there with plenty of room for more. We sat outside having a BBQ in the evening and it was great. It was quiet at night and didn’t get disturbed. Will definitely use again.

  • 3/5

Lots of spaces, many big enough for large motorhomes. Gets busy during the day but at night there were just 2 motorhomes on an August Monday. Up to midnight there were a number of teenagers parked up though- bit of loud music and occasional tyre screeching as you get from bored kids in country towns. No real problem. Car park is 10 mins walk from Kirby Lonsdale over the river- lots of pubs, restaurants and marvellous pork pies from the butcher just past the Sun Inn.

  • 5/5

Perfect stop for a quiet night.

  • 5/5

We stayed for one night to visit Ingleton Falls. Kirkby Lonsdale just a short walk away with toilets on the way for 20p. Relatively clean too. Other vans there so felt safe. Walked over Devils Bridge and could have taken a dip in the water if we'd have had our swimming stuff!

  • 5/5

Fabulous place to stop. A short walk into the town across Devils Bridge then visit town and walk through the church yard at the side of the Swan Inn (Try the pork pies next door!! ) then walk down the famous steps after seeing Ruskins View and walk along the river and back to the Motorhome. We could not find the water tap though?

  • 5/5

Fabulous place to stop and what a wonderful walk along the river into the town. The pork pies in the butchers by the Swan inn are out of this world. Devils bridge is a must see. (Could not find the water though)

  • 4/5

No problem parking for the night, little noisy early saturday morning with people using car park. Lovely pub 5 mins walk away called The Pheasant which is very welcoming to your 4 legged friend :-)
